I go to Rumble every 6-8 weeks in Palo Alto when I lived in the Bay Area and loved everything about Rumble Boxing. This was the first time my husband and I attended Rumble at this location. You can park in either garage and they will validate your parking ticket but you still have to pay $2. The validation machine is at the front where you check in. They have photo ops around like the Banksy rendition on the wall and the huge bear by the waiting area. The restrooms weren't as nice as the Palo Alto but I do like their shower head and they had Drybar products that were amazing! The layout of the room is quite spread out. We were in the last row so it was pretty hard to see the instructor. I do wish they lit up the instructor's platform more for better visibility. The music was really good and motivated me to go harder for longer. The flashing lights give it that club vibe which I don't mind since it wasn't blinding. The class went by a lot faster too than the Palo Alto location; not sure if the rounds here are shorter? Overall, still a good experience :)

WOW!!! Amazing workout, Coach, space, team, location, amenities, & overall experience. Such a fun time! Plus - great parking with validation at 8500, and I definitely hit the Starbucks across the street right before class for that pre-workout kick.

I'm so happy I found this place. The entire staff is super nice and welcoming. Classes are fun and go by fast. Great workout. I haven't really gotten the chance to experience all of their trainers as I usually go on Sundays so I can only give shout outs to AJ, Jess and Kushal. Keep up the good work, Rumble WeHo!

Used ClassPass to try this studio for the first time. Love soulcycle and have enjoyed a couple regular boxing classes in the past so thought it could be a good fit. Arrived 15 min early so that I could speak with the instructor and get the lay of the land. The receptionists were nice enough. After purchasing the funny hand wrap things and a water I sat in the waiting area expecting someone to bring me into the studio and show me what to do. After about 10 minutes sitting there trying to figure out who was actually teaching the class one of the receptionists came up to me like, "you good? Class is starting." I walked myself into the pitch dark studio where the instructor had already started teaching. Didn't have a chance to discuss my personal body issues with the trainer and it was so loud there was no way we could have spoken with each other at that point. Left after ten minutes when I realized I wouldnt be getting much personal attention and probably end up hurting myself. On my way out the receptionist said he would refund my ClassPass credits (he refunded some of them lol). Was willing to convert from ClassPass to becoming a regular customer and might try again, but my experience was pretty wack. FYI- it was Tues 9/27 at 5 PM

Addicted to coming here! the classes are so fun and keep you motivated. be prepared to work your butt off!! Its super hyped and literally feels like a club. I love how the music pairs with your workout ! When you come here you need to buy the wraps ($8; you keep these) and the gloves ($3;rentals). The wraps make you feel bad ass! The showers are great and the instructors are super nice.

My friend and I came when they were offering a BOGO deal on your first class. We bought the hand wraps ($8) which are more similar to fingerless gloves, so you don't actually have to wrap your hands using traditional boxing wraps. As it was our first class, we were able to rent the gloves for free. This studio has a decent size lobby and their bathrooms are well stocked and clean. There are lockers to put your stuff and a water machine you can fill up your bottle at. The class is divided into two sections with half the class doing boxing drills at the actual bags and then the other half doing strength type exercises on the other side of the room. You switch halfway. The boxing drills was pretty fun with the instructor demonstrating the moves up front and also a screen detailing the punches to do for the combo. My friend was completely new to boxing and had a harder time keeping up as it was hard to see the instructor and there were no clear instructions for newbies. The instructor didn't really go around and help with form or combos. People were largely left to do their own thing. The room is dimly lit which is nice to concentrate on your own exercise and music is blaring. This can add to it being hard to understand/ see the instructor though. The strength portion of the class was fine with exercises like jumping jacks, squats, curl ups, etc. Not as fun as punching a bag but also a good workout on its own. While this was a good workout and clean studio, I would recommend the instructors paying a bit more attention to new students as it can be hard to pick up something like this in a group class. There is a parking lot across the street that you can get validation from the studio for.

LOVE THIS PLACE! The instructors and front desk managers are super friendly and supporting. The workout is amazing! Definitely recommend this place if you want a fun workout!

I've literally never written a review before, but this was the weirdest worst workout class…read moreexperience I've ever had. I've done almost every studio in LA and NYC and work out 5-6 times a week, and feel pretty well-versed in the LA workout scene. (Tracey Anderson, Silver Springs, Barrys, Heated Room, etc etccc). so I feel like I can confidently say this was not right... like something is so off about this place I walk in, and they show me around, point out the amenities, but then tell me I can't use the locker room because it's for members only. Okay... fine. I go into the waiting area, and even though the class is listed as 10:45 AM, it doesn't actually start until 10:58 AM. We're all just sitting there on our mats waiting. Then the instructor (who is the owner) walks in without saying a single word and literally just starts working out full speed ahead. No intro, no warm-up, no cues, no hi, just starts like full workout mode in the mirror facing herself - just loud music and silence from her like she has a mic on but isn't actually using it. Maybe she was saying something, but the music was so loud you wouldn't know. I left the room not knowing what her voice sounds like.. Then, a girl with a camera walks in, records her for 10 seconds, and leaves. What?? That was strange, but okay. The class keeps going--still no cues, no counting, no nothing and every few minutes, this camera girl comes back to film her again. You never do a move for more than 5 seconds, so you just have to watch her in the mirror to even know what's going on. It felt less like a workout class and more like we were just there to watch her work out. Otherwise, why would there be no cues, no corrections, no countdowns... and a camera girl filming her the whole time Oh, and there was a full-on ring light set up in front of her to make sure she had good lighting for these video clips. All this for a $40 class?? Am I the only one who thinks this is weird?? I read a lot of reviews before going, and now I'm genuinely wondering if I missed something or what...

I've been to a lot of gyms in LA over the years and was used to working out alone -- but I realized I missed having people to share the journey with. I came to Surfcore at a point in my life when I knew I needed to make some real changes to my health, and Carlos and Jose were so supportive and encouraging. After my first year, I got a clean bill of health from my doctor, and they genuinely celebrated that with me. Through the six-week challenges and all the day-to-day workouts, I've learned how to better balance my eating, my fitness, and my mindset. The workouts are tough but fun, and the people are what make it special. It's supportive, hilarious, and full of good energy. I've made real friends here -- something that's hard to do as an adult in L.A. And honestly, I really appreciate talking both workout shop and sharing the latest tea at Diva Fridays. Sadly, I had to move out of the area and I really miss my routine with the crew. Surfcore had become my third space -- a place between work and home where I felt grounded and supported by friendly folk. Truly one of a kind.

Our goal for joining the gym was to just get into better shape, but we didn't have any other expectations. We came out of it not only looking our best on our wedding day ;) but also became a part of the most supportive community of friends and people from all walks of life! Everyone at the gym is so welcoming, and we love the ALOHA spirit and vibes. The gym is run by two passionate (& extremely fit) owners, Carlos & Jose. They are not only our trainers, but true community leaders that always show up and do their best to make us feel comfortable and supported as gym members. They truly go ABOVE & BEYOND to make each member feel welcomed, and are always offering guidance even outside of the gym settings. In regards to the workouts, they are definitely tough! But not in an intimidating way. Carlos and Jose work with you to make sure that you can safely perform the routines, while also knowing when to push you to challenge yourself. As someone who's time is limited, I appreciate that these workouts are efficient and effective, and I always feel productive after the 45 min session (and oftentimes sore for days - the good kind of sore). I definitely value the variety of HITT workouts, which alternate between upper and lower body and continue to be a challenge for me even after 1.5 years. Since joining Surfcore, I've felt so much stronger and actually have more definition to my arms/back, and more !! Additionally, as someone in the healthcare field, and specifically working in a weight loss clinic, I can confidently tell you that my experience with patients on weight loss drugs (i.e.GLP-1 agonists), see the best results in their body and form when they combine their medication with weight-bearing exercises (basically all the Surfcore workouts). PSA to anyone who is on GLP-1's, you can lose up to 30% of your muscle mass if you are NOT combining it with a structured exercise routine! Logistics- My initial question when I first found them through a google search was "how's the parking situation??" Parking is accessible and free! Such a rarity on this side of LA. The biggest bang for your buck is signing up for their monthly membership to get unlimited access to all their classes. My personal focus was going to the group classes, but Surfcore also offers other opportunities for working out, including their barbell club, 6-week challenges that incorporates regimented combination of clean eating with workouts, personal 1-on-1 training, and fun competitive events on holidays and at the beach - and more! We are SO extremely lucky to have been a part of the Surfcore community, and if it wasn't for making the move out of LA, we would've continued to stick with this gym for life. They have set an extremely HIGH bar(bell) for what we'll be looking for in a gym community in our next chapter. We are truly going to miss our Surfcore family!! If you are looking for a place to start your fitness journey, please do not hesitate to reach out to Jose & Carlos to join this vibrant community!!
