Great canto style resto that does traditional style congee, steamed rice rolls and also offers selection of noodles. They have various combinations, fillings, and good portion sizes.

Local neighborhood hole in the wall place. Needed a quick meal, it was either this or Taco Bell. Was not impressed when i entered, certainly a place you wouldn't take a date or a secret lover, yeah I said it. However, my red flag gut intuition slowly began to soften when perusing their menus, a separate page for congee, separate page for noodles, separate page for rice rolls and a separate page for snacks. Now that's what I'm talking about. This is where people come for serious no nonsense eating. No fusion, no signature dishes, just straight up good basic Chinese comfort food It hit me when I out of the corner of my eye I saw pork intestine noodles on the noodle menu. Whaaaat, no way, no restaurant would dare serve this dish unless their customer base demanded it. People who like intestines described the taste as gamey barnyard funk, let's get real, it's poop, don't want it. Don't wanna even try. I got excited, any restaurant serving this dish must know what they are doing. I ordered the congee with century egg & pork, fried dough sticks and beef brisket dried noodles The beef brisket was tender with fat and attached membrane, beware, it is just not pure beef brisket, this type of brisket is not everyone's cup of tea. The noodles were firm and chewy The fried dough sticks were overcooked, too crispy and oily. Dipping them in the congee softened them up. The congee arrived very hot with creamy century egg and tender pork. It was so tasty I have to admit, their dishes were very authentic and a representation of what great cooking skills can accomplish with Chinese ingredients (including intestines). It's a shame these hole in the wall places are not well known but then the neighborhoods probably want it they way. I walked away very impressed

Down to earth. No frills ambiance. Average cleanliness. Congee small portion. Rice rolls large portion. Pricing below market. Congee taste alright but much MSG.

Very small shop that is always hustling and bustling but wouldn't have it any other way! There may be a short line and you can get a number but I find the turnover is pretty fast so you do get seated fairly quickly. The seats are a little tight but not too bad. We always go for a congee each and a rice roll and fritter to share. This time I tried their pork intestine one (small intestine not large). There were lots inside the bowl. Portions are good. I usually get mine without green onions and ginger. The congee base is nice and fleecy but definitely on the more watery and not super thick side. The rice rolls are perfect! We got a pea sprout one and the layers are nice thin and translucent. We went for the Chinese donut (sweeter than the dough fritter).

This place was packed on a Saturday at 1pm! I personally think their "cheung funs" taste better than the famous chain that originated from China. Their "cheung fun" takes the form of scrunched up sheets, unlike the rolls you get at dim sum restaurants. The cheung fun is thin and smooth. We ordered "jar leung", which exceeded my expectations. The "cheung fun" layer was so thin, that you can see the dough fritter underneath. The dough fritter was still crispy when we ate the last piece! We also ordered pork congee with preserved egg. The congee base was very well done, it was thick but not gluppy. However, I do wish they put a bit more preserved egg in it. The restaurant seems to be brighter and cleaner than I last visited, which was nearly 2 year ago.

Is there anything better than a hot bowl of congee on a cold day? Indoor dining is closed but they do have tables that you can sit at to wait for your order. We ordered a good ol' classic century egg and pork congee, fried dough, ox tongue pastry, and beef brisket. The congee was great. Thick and well salted. The pork pieces were large whole pieces - quality stuff! The eggs were actually in decent sized pieces, as in not too large. I'm not a huge fan of eating them whole but I managed to down a few. I've never met an ox tongue pastry that I haven't liked. If you haven't had one, it's a sweeter dough though definitely not a dessert. Although, my partner did describe it as "almost funnel cake-like". As for the fried dough stick, I thought they were a tiny bit too dense and a little oily for me. I appreciated that the take out containers were very sturdy plastic that you can reuse or recycle. The only complaint was that the prices were a bit much for what you got.

Absolutely love this place Come here to get a true taste of Hong Kong with insane value. Staff speaks English (although not super well), but you'll get by and menu is in English as well (for the most part). First thing you do upon entering is to grab a piece of paper from the front desk with a number to get in queue. No reservations, line goes quick as they have super fast turnover. This place specializes in congee (rice porridge for the uninitiated) and rice noodle rolls. Haven't tried anything else here because these 2 carb-rich dishes are the best. Have ordered some vegetables to balance the meal out which is pretty basic boiled Chinese broccoli Bowls of congee start at about $5 and is a steal in my opinion. You can share a bowl with someone easily. HIGHLY recommend the pork and preserved egg (aka thousand year egg) congee (classic congee) and the fish + beef congee. Simple & super flavourful! The rice noodle rolls are made completely in house drenched in sweet soy sauce. Add some sesame seed and hot pepper oil at your table, and you'll be shortly sent to carb heaven! Oh and don't forget the HK style tea! Have it cold or hot..it's all good.

3 years after my first visit and I decided to give this place another try. It was a cold and windy day and Congee is really my kind of comfort food. I had been bee quite a few Cantonese style rice roll joints so now I kind of know what to expect and start to enjoy this kind of rice roll. Plain Rice Roll is pretty good and great value. I would order that again. Even my Pork Blood congee has the punch with a lot of ginger! I guess I will be coming back again. BTW, the condiment bottles are a lot cleaner than my last visit!

The best plain rice noodle. It's one flat sheet and it is so fresh and silky. Love dousing it in soya sauce, peanut butter, hoisin sauce and sesame seeds. Congee is good too. Good prices and good value. Great spot for quick Chinese comfort food.

Excellent rice rolls, so many varieties, fave was with pork and cilantro. Congee's consistency was perfect. I loved mine with fish belly. But only for people who can handle all the small fish bones. Shout out to Emily, our super server, who can multi task and never missed a beat! The place was busy, she took care of all the customers and still have time to chat with us.

I've been eating in this area since forever and have only recently discovered this gem of a place. It makes me sad for all the bad bowls of congee and crappy rice rolls that I've had to consume in my long life. The congee is made by the bowl, so it might take a moment for it to get out to you but it will be guaranteed to be hot and delicious. The usual combinations are all available, and the one bowl can easily feed two people. The rice rolls are a bit different because the folds aren't all neatly rolled up, but I figure it's just because they make it fresh there. No complaints, especially when drowned in sesame sauce, sweet sauce, hot sauce and sesame seeds. Let's clarify that this isn't the classiest of places. They ran out of actual chairs so I got a plastic stool to sit on. When our table ran out of sesame sauce, the table next to us offered us theirs because there was a mutual understanding of the importance of sesame sauce. It's just that kinda place. Don't bring your dates here unless they are awesome and know how to appreciate the taste of a well made Cantonese breakfast.

A piece of plastic in my congee....

I've eaten here before and it was decent so I called in to order take out this time. When I got there to pick up my food, I was waiting for the cashier to tell me the price. A good 10-20 seconds of awkwardly standing there passed and I noticed a receipt stuck on the take out indicating a price so I asked to confirm the amount. A "yes" or a "no" would've been sufficient, but instead, he responded with "Well, is that what you ordered?" To top off the rude service, I noticed I had plastic in my congee after almost choking on it.

The best taste cheungfun "ricenoodle" as pictured. Fried dough and other noodle/congee/rice bowls, very satisfying 10 items dinner between the two of us bwahaha. Great promo and orderly streamline takeout process.

The tofu is decently tender, small pieces of minced pork and a savory spicy sauce on a whole container of rice. 4.5/5. Eggplant with minced pork in spicy sauce on rice. The flavor on this is on point with a nice sweet and hint of spicy sauces. Eggplant is cooked well as is the meat. Sits on a giant bed of rice. 4/5 Rice noodles with sliced pork. The rice noodles are cooked well and the sliced pork is incredibly tender. There's bean sprouts and onions and green onions though I feel the onions may have been a tad undercooked.
