One of the best lobster rolls I've ever had! I had the Connecticut style... served hot with lemon and butter. It was so tasty (1st time having it this style)!! Only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because there is no indoor seating. So my options were to take it to-go & eat in my car (I was out running errands) or sit outside in the muggy heat. Also, I was expecting this thing to be a lot bigger after looking at the pics on yelp. It's about the size of my small hand (as shown in pics). But don't let the size fool you! They pack it with so much lobster meat that I had to take some off to eat it! Definitely filled me up, but mu husband would prob need the bigger size. Very messy, but aren't the best foods messy!? Recommendations for this place: get a better location with indoor seating (maybe on the water too!) and maybe add alcoholic drinks too! Pretty good new England style lobster roll however I wasn't too impressed due to the size of it.. I sorta expected it to be a tad bit bigger for the price, expected a more fulfilling meal. The best whole belly clams! I don't care for their soups which are both and a bit sour. I like the fried whole belly clams more than the middle neck steamed clams. This establishment needs a thorough overhaul for cleanliness. It is quite dirty AND worst of all, there is NO restroom for customers, that means no place to wash our hands before eating and whatever else is necessary. But the big question is: what do the employees do for restroom facilities? And when I suggested that we needed to wash our hands before eating, the young man offered me a paper towel with soap on it to "clean up." That was scary. He also pulled out some hand sanitizer that was near the kitchen area but not in sight for clients. Had the order not already been placed, we would have scooted out of there quickly and probably should have since when I got home, I was quite ill and threw up. (Since my partner did not get sick, perhaps it was unrelated, nevertheless, it seemed to be a very quick stomach illness.) The hot soup was served in plastic cups with plastic spoons. I wasn't a fan of that practice since hot soup could easily melt the plastic. Yet because many restaurants do that, I guess I can't complain about it except since it was not take-out, a bowl would have felt safer than potentially melted plastic. (But that's a different issue in the US food safety world.) However, it is important to give credit for the one good thing: THE CLAM CHOWDER WAS VERY GOOD! read more

While waiting for my order, had a conversation with the fella waiting on me about how disappointed we were that they were on vacation when my wife was in town because we had been looking forward to trying their lobster rolls. Told him how we had to settle for another place and that it had not bee all that good. He assured me theirs were better and that they give you much more lobster. The more lobster part was true, but it was of little value when you end up tossing much of it out. Maybe it was because it was a Tuesday and they are closed Mondays and thus I was served lobster that had been in their cooler a few days. Jan 28, 2025 We were recommended to this fantastic place by the people we rented a house from in Bradenton. We are a Canadian retired couple. Upon entering Pound Seafood we were met with a warm welcome by the owners Jim and Kelly and Tucker who cooked our delicious dinner. They were all very warm and friendly and very proud of their establishment. Not fancy but much better than Bonefish Grill by a mile. It was absolutely terrific, it exceeded our expectations. The chowder and seafood were the best we have ever hand and we came back for a second dinner, both were perfect. We enjoyed New England clam chowder, lobster sandwich, haddock fish, all fresh caught. The owners were so lovely checking if we were enjoying our meal. This was by far the best place we went to during our stay in Bradenton. The people here are very nice. Oddly enough, I like my lobster roll with more bread. It was good but I liked ther shrimp better. I'd get the shrimp again for sure, with cocktail sauce, not boom boom sauce. The onion rings are fake minced onions but the dipping sauce is good.
