The owner works very hard on creating different authentic dishes to cater some of the Asian customers. Save you a trip from going all the way to Chinatown!

I had just driven for 5 hours from New York in torrential rain. Was searching for a Lobster roll or anything with New England Lobster. Somehow my Yelp search found Lobster Wok as one of the nearest restaurants. I was hungry and just wanted the nearest place. Lo and behold it was your typical Chinese takeout (no lobster specific dishes at all!) Since it was still pouring I decided to order here: cashew chicken lunch special with white rice and egg roll. I ate in. The food was quite tasty and the portion was huge. Price was excellent for this amount of fresh hot tasty Chinese food. Good Chinese takeout, no lobster

Sweet and sour chicken. Sauce always on the side.

Generous portions, delicious food, fair prices, friendly staff, and online ordering. PROS: Online ordering is a snap. Very easy and accurate. Food was made fresh and very good. Could tell it wasn't sitting around. Loved the Peking ravioli. So good. Sweet and sour chicken comes with the sauce on the side. No need to ask. That's great in my book. Wonton soup was so good, mainly because the wontons were firm . They didn't seem like they had been sitting in broth for 12 hours. I like them firm. This was probably one of the best wonton soups I've had... not the top. My only complaint was the lack of green onion and pork strips in the soup. They should add that to make this the best ever. CONS: None so far. I'll be back to order some more chicken dishes to see how good the basic meat quality is for staple dishes like chicken with broccoli. OVERALL: Very good for take out Chinese food. This place deserves a 4 star average.

Best Chinese takeout restaurant in Newton! Their offerings range from American Chinese staples like General Tso's chicken to authentic dishes like soy-ginger fish. Currently available for takeout only, but then again there wasn't really much (if any) seating space to begin with. The family that runs it is lovely as well - friendly mom & dad team (I think there may be an uncle in the mix also) and two great kids.

All day special with sesame chicken, pork fried rice, and teriyaki chicken skewers.

Hark, what be that angelic sound? I think it's a heavenly host singing of the delicious fare of Lobster Wok. I have been on a 9-year quest for good Chinese food. It's been a harrowing journey, full of false promises, abandoned hopes, and bland fried rice. Lobster Wok is out by Newton but delivers to the Cleveland Circle area, and thank goodness it does. Undaunted by my recent disappointments elsewhere, I recently ordered some General Tso's with pork fried rice and chicken teriyaki ($11) as well as an appetizer combination for sampling purposes that included crab rangoons, beef teriyaki, egg rolls, and boneless spare ribs ($10). I have to say, even grading separate from my recent "meh" experiences, this is darn good food. Highlights: --The pork fried rice is flavorful and full of actual chunks of pork. --The G.T. chicken seasoning is just right (sweet with a kick), and it isn't too heavily breaded. --The chicken teriyaki is juicy, tender, and SO SO GOOD. Seriously, you should absolutely try this. --Beef teriyaki is also tender and delicious. --The egg rolls are... fine. They aren't the best ones ever for me (too much cabbage), but they're generally cooked to the right crispness. --Crab rangoon is basic, but very tasty. --The boneless spare ribs melt in my mouth and haunt my dreams. So goooood. I've now ordered from here a couple times, and the quality has been consistently excellent. So in terms of the food, I will throw down the gauntlet and say that this is the best you're likely going to find in the area, bar none. That said, I am docking one star because on one occasion, my food straight-up never arrived. I ordered on GrubHub and got a confirmation that the restaurant received the order, and I was charged for it. But my delivery window came and went, and because I ordered fairly close to closing time, I had to work with GrubHub rather than the restaurant to get a refund and sort the whole thing out (and had to figure out a plan B for dinner at 11:15 at night). That was not great, Bob. I'm hoping it was an aberration, and time will tell since I definitely plan to order from here an embarrassing amount, but we Yelpers have to take all matters into consideration in our ratings, right?

This is Singapore and it's the best!!!

This spot has reasonable prices, hefty portions, fast service, and very satisfying food. Also, the dishes travel well via takeout.

We arrived on time for our reservation made on Open Table, and were greeted graciously and shown to our table. The ambiance is cozy, and there is indoor and outdoor seating. Our server took my order for vodka rocks and when she returned took our dinner orders. My companion ordered tuna tartar and a mushroom flatbread, and I ordered the rigatoni and meatballs. All three dishes were served promptly are were quite tasty. I could have used a little more sauce on my rigatoni, but it was flavorful and the meatballs were small enough to easily cut in pieces so I could have a bite with every forkful of rigatoni. I also had a slice of the flatbread which was delicious, with just the right amount of cheese and mushrooms. My companion declared the tuna tartar the best she'd every had, and that' saying something as it is a staple of hers at another restaurant we frequent. Unfortunately - we were seated at 2 tables, one for 4 and one for 10... Never mind I still had fun. WE got the delish truffle fries as an appetizer and I got the scallop entree. I love a scallop and not only were these perfectly cooked, it was the perfect size entree so I wasn't grotesquely full afterwards. Our server got it all right, despite the pressure of so many folks all getting their meal at the same time.

The shopping center itself was nice and felt modern and clean. The parking lot had sufficient parking availability on a Tuesday night. I hadn't made reservations in advance but despite it being pretty busy, they were able to get us a table for 2 inside (there is some outdoor patio seating available). The service was friendly and helpful though not very proactive (but it was busy so understandable). The one major turnoff was the staff aggressively spraying cleaning solution onto nearby tables. That stuff can waft over to someone and set off an allergic reaction, it can get into food/drinks, and the chemical smell that lingered was not great for a higher-end restaurant. On the other hand, it was a clean restaurant! We got shrimp cocktail (they charge by the piece). It didn't come with the standard cocktail sauce - not sure what it was - maybe vinegar-based(?), but it was just OK - my friend didn't like the sauce at all but we thought the shrimp was good. We each ordered haddock with green beans and mashed potatoes. The haddock was nicely prepared with breadcrumbs on top and cooked such that it was still flaky, moist, and had a nice light flavor. Mashed potatoes were good (as other reviewers have noted), and the green beans were ok - maybe a bit undercooked. The team accommodated my friend's nut allergy by leaving off the almonds, which we appreciate! I didn't love the tomato confit but it wasn't bad. I'm glad that I could visit this beautiful restaurant! I hope that they can find a better way to keep the tables clean.
