There are dartboards and tvs all over to watch the game. Bartender Sam was super friendly and consistently checked on my group. The free Comedy show is in the basement, with about 20 seats for the audience. It's a super lowkey vibe and Corona just happened to sponsor tonight's show, so we got tons of free merch that night. There were about 6 comedians and the show lasted around 2 hours. Highly recommend coming to a show if you need a Thursday night date activity!

I came for an alumni reunion that took place up by the door. When you keep walking, you enter the spacious main area that has both tables and long high-top tables to stand at. I had a chicken quesadilla, some of the queso dip, spinach and cheese dip, a tiny slider, fried cauliflower, and wings (smallest wings I've ever seen). I don't know if the ownership changed, or what, but now this place is what you'd expect an American themed bar in Japan to look/feel/act like. It misses the mark so hilariously that you have to wonder how it all even came to exist. They painted over the Mexican tiles with a bad paint job to make the entire back of the bar a giant, sloppy looking American flag and kept half the menu while "Americanizing" the names (Queso? Nope, try our Texas Queso!). Why are there KISS lyrics on a chalkboard over the door? I half expected to see a knock-off Hard Rock Cafe-style gift store in one of the dark, empty corners of the restaurant area. The "Americana" kitsch drilled into the walls all around the bar don't do the atmosphere any favors, either. I've seen enough faux-rusted Route 66 signs for a lifetime, theme restaurants can give it a rest now. Service was worse (how hard is it to get my friend a drink when there are 4 people in the entire place?) than ever and even the staff seemed to be whitewashed (literally). The posters in the bathroom felt more like satirical propaganda than anything reminiscent of reality, and the longer I stayed I began to wonder if I was on some hidden camera show - because each detail you observe becomes more absurd than the last. As I sat there, too afraid to leave because it was raining horribly out and I hadn't brought an umbrella with me that day, I became more and more offended as I remembered how I was told by a poster that less beer choices are better. Did they hire Sarah Sanders as their interior designer? What madness! Frankly, I am sketched out by all the glowing reviews around here so far and think they smell like a lot of friends and family propping up their average. Which is not uncommon, but still largely inaccurate in this case, as far as I am concerned. This is not a beer bar, it is not a dive bar, but it is a big bar. It had been a few months since my last visit, but after this experience, it's unlikely I'll return. While they do have a decent drink menu, fair prices, and I still love the name, dive-bar atmosphere, and decor, the service fell really short. My friend and I both felt unwanted. I'd recommend stopping in for a quick drink if you're curious, but don't expect attentive or friendly service.
