Cheap beer, free hot dogs, and great bartenders! This place is a neighborhood gem. What's not to love at Rudy's. Bring cash because that's the only way you will pay.

A full balanced healthy dinner at Rudy's!

Still a terrific spot and a dive bar icon in NYC. Even though they have renovated it a bit it still retains that old school vibe. Walking in last night brought back many memories of times I spent here with friends getting tipsy. I do miss the red duct taped booths which have been updated but still there, and still red. The backyard area used to be a dump and unusable but now it's a great area to watch a game on a giant flat screen with fun signage on the walls and more seating. The beers are still cheap as are the shot deals, and they still give you free hot dogs with every drink - and unheard of bargain nowadays. The locals are still here with their quirky personalities , and the bartenders are still friendly. Of course, Baron Von Swine is still out in front welcoming patrons to come inside.

Rudy's Bar & Grill is a true Hell's Kitchen classic and one of the last great old-school dives in the neighborhood. It's always a good time, whether you're stopping in for a casual drink or settling in for a long night with friends. I rang in New Year's Eve here this year, sharing pitchers of beer and complimentary hot dogs--about as classic Rudy's as it gets. The atmosphere is unapologetically unpretentious, gritty in the best way, and refreshingly free of pretense. That simplicity is part of the charm and a major reason Rudy's remains one of the best values in the city. You can't miss it either--the giant pig statue, Baron Von Swine, standing guard outside has become an unmistakable neighborhood landmark. If you're looking for $15 pitchers, a no-frills vibe, and a genuine slice of old-school New York, Rudy's delivers every time.

I heard about this place from a friend a couple years ago and didn't believe it: a free hotdog with every beer? In this economy? I had to check it out myself and I'm so glad I did. The rumours were true: you do get a hotdog with every beer! This is an awesome place to hang out grab a few drinks with some friends and munch on some hotdogs. Their house beers were delicious and the hotdogs were genuinely really good too (not just good for being free). The bar area is pretty cramped (but mostly because it's always full of people!) but they have a large fully enclosed backyard seating area with much more space. Make sure to bring cash and tip well!

Killer place to check out. The atmosphere is genuine, just a great dive bar in Hell's Kitchen. Prices are great especially for nyc, and you even get a hot dog that's pretty good. It should be on your list...

When I tell you, this place combines two of my favorite things: dive bar vibes and free hot dogs. Regardless of time of day, the place is usually packed. Narrow, long bar that has minimal booths in the first part of the bar, with an additional seating area downstairs in the back. Cash only bar where you can get some beers (including their own drafts) for $4 a glass or $20 for a pitcher. Hot dogs are free with a purchase so I'd ask for how many you'd like when ordering your drinks. Bartenders are brief and to the point, definitely the kind of bar you need to know what you're getting yourself into before going to. I've gone every NY trip and can't wait till my next visit.

Let me start with this: the people who work here are not human. They are miracle workers, straight up. Rudy's closes at 4 AM and reopens at 8 AM - I don't even function with a full 8 hours of sleep, and these folks are out here slinging $5 beer + shot combos to a packed bar daily. Absolute warriors. The vibe is chaotic in the best way. It's loud, it's sticky, it's packed but it's also alive. Everyone's here for the same reason: dirt-cheap drinks and zero pretense. The $5 deal is legendary and dangerous. You're not coming here for artisanal cocktails or moody lighting. You're coming here to survive, thrive, and maybe scream into the night beneath the gaze of that terrifying red pig statue. 5/5.

Cool local vibe joint! Found this iconic bar through a You Tube travel video. This truly was a happenin spot to be. When we arrived on a mid week evening, the place was packed! It was hard to find a seat, but a nice couple sitting at a table nearby offered to share their booth/table. The bar menu was posted above and prices were very reasonable. AND with each purchase, you'll receive a free National Hebrew hot dog! Cool beans! Had some nice convo with the locals at our table. We'll be back next time in town : )

Everytime I am in NYC, I make sure to stop by Rudy's for a drink. Rudy's offers the best deals for drinking in NYC along with some nice screens to watch sporting events. Let me know if there is another place that offers a beer, a shot of whiskey, and a hot dog for $5 ( all American combo which is my go to order). Keep in mind that it can get pretty packed here particularly on the weekends. Make sure to check outside as there can be open spots to sit as well. Rudy's is one of my personal favorite spots in all of NYC. I will definitely be back many more times!

Social crowd, easy to make small talk with people. The bartender is quick to serve and the hot dog was a hit. The music choice of 70s and 80s rock was very good and added to the experience. The hot dog? A personal favorite. It's quite good and who doesn't love a hot dog

So randomly found this place several years ago through Time Out NY. Been here a bunch of times since because we had so much fun the first time. It's a fantastic dive bar that's always crowded. Cash only. Cheap beer and free hot dogs. Good music and fun times. It's a must do when in the city.

Can't ever go wrong with Rudy's! You get a free hot dog with every drink, the service is pretty quick and casual, and the whole ambiance is swanky decadent!

It has easily earned a spot as one of my favorite bars of all time. The underground space flawlessly captures a raw, seedy, 1980s rock 'n' roll vibe, with eclectic decor that extends beautifully to the themed menus and custom glassware. Sitting at the bar was a highlight--the bartenders were fantastic, clearly proud of their craft, and they even humorously indulged my game of trying to guess the ingredients of each drink they mixed. The cocktail lineup is phenomenal. A few absolute highlights: the Purple Rain with its purple ice and peppercorn, the flambéed Dirty Dancing, a brilliant espresso martini riff called Flick The Bean, and Pure Temptation--which has glassware you just have to see for yourself. You need a password (easy to find online), and you go through a hidden door down a staircase. But it feels more like a novelty than anything else. NYC has way more iconic speakeasies, so this isn't somewhere I'd go out of my way for more than once. Nothing wrong with the vibe--it's Times Square, so you already know what you're getting--but it's definitely a one-and-done kind of spot. The drinks are good and super fun, but they're very extra (smoke, presentation, all that), so between that and how packed it gets, it can take a while just to get one cocktail. Didn't try the food. Overall, go for the pics and TikToks--it's perfect for that. I'd recommend checking it out once, but I don't really see it being a repeat spot.
