The menu stated they were house battered but the waitress said they were not. ‍ There were 5 wings in the order ... we had Buffalo but there were other flavors. A decent bar food option. We stopped here for dinner since the weather was nice and they had outdoor seating for our pup! The raspberry mule was pretty good. I didn't get to try any other drinks but there were lots of good looking options! The cheese curds were good. We also shared the Local Burger and Flatbread Pizzas. The burger was fine but not a whole lot of flavor to it. I am glad it was double-patties though and the fries were pretty good. I liked that the pizza came with 2! The mighty meat was my favorite. The crust was nice and fluffy but again, not super flavorful. Service was good and fairly quick too. Overall, pretty decent. I'd come back to try more drinks! read more

We had the Local Burger which had Nebraska beef, on a buttered & toasted brioche. Neither of us were impressed. The meat was dense and tasteless. The fries underdone. The price was good at $14 but the quality was poor. They crammed a big party in a corner despite a nearly empty restaurant. Me and my girlfriend were just passing through and this was the closest bar and grill to the hotel we were staying at. We saw the rating and when we arrived there was no one there. We were nervous due to the lack of business but quickly reassured we made a good decision when we were sat and waited on almost instantly. The beer, service, and food were great. My girlfriend sucks at ordering food so she wasn't a fan of her fish and chips but we shared my Mac and cheese and loved it. We got our food to go and it was piping hot which was good but the chicken and fries were both not very good. The fries didn't have much flavor and were not crisp, bordering on soggy. While allow to get waited on when first arrived, there was zero short after that! I believe possibly the day manager waited on us while the other waiters truly hussled through the other orders when what I believe was a substantial lunch crowd hit right at opening! Take my word for it-do the hummus tray! Pesto and sundried tomato hummus was unreal-so good! My husband had the Swiss mushroom burger with the up charged sweet potato fries which was so worth it! First time I'd visited this establishment and had never heard of it prior. Went to lunch with some family members after piquing our interest when searching restaurants in the area. The restaurant was nearly empty except for a few patrons at the bar. Our food came out fairly quickly as expected but there were some issues. The sides had been mixed up with half of the order. In addition, the burger patties were half the size of the bun - essentially mini hockey pucks. Overall, not a raving experience by any means which was unfortunate. read more

I stopped in here for a late lunch and beer on a Thursday, and to my surprise they have daily happy hour from 3-6pm! I ended up ordering the pretzels and the burger - pretzels were awesome with beer cheese and mustard dips! Burger was just ok IMO, a little greasy for my liking. Hence the name, they do have an AWESOME local beer tap list! Would recommend, especially for happy hour deals. read more

My husband and I stopped by this location a couple weeks ago for a couple of beers. The bartender was super friendly and didn't rush us or I should say me when trying to order. My husband always goes for IPA beers, but I usually try lagers or ales. I like the fact that they have all local beers and a huge variety on tap. Good place to get a beer and watch a game. The beer selection was pretty good with a wide variety of local brews. The food was good although the patties on the burger I had were cooked as they wanted which was pretty well done. There were many TV's throughout the dining area so many of the significant college basketball games were on which was nice. Our waitress was very attentive and even though a group of a dozen adults and 15 kids came in and were set up next to us I never felt it detracted from our service. read more

We went to Local around 7:30 pm on a Friday night. You seat yourself and we sat down right away at a table outside. We were served right away with waters. I got a beer- Pineapple Upside-Down Cake sour. I don't typically go for sours but wanted something refreshing and I've tried a fair amount. It was pretty tasty! Couldn't taste the pineapple but it was pretty refreshing and not too sour. We got their Fried Pickles and ranch for an appetizer. Picture posted. There were a few more in the bowl but I had forgotten to take a picture. They were very tasty! Fried maybe just a tad long but very delicious. I tried the Mushroom Swiss Burger. Great meat. The onions were on the outside of the burger and so I just picked them off. I would prefer a sauce to go with it or a little spice but overall it was a decent burger. A little plain. Tasty bun. Fair amount of mushrooms but not overwhelming. 7/10. Their fries were really delicious as well. My husband got the Spicy Sriracha Patty Melt. Great meat. Pretty spicy. The meat to bread ratio was a tad off with the square bread and round patty. If anything- a tad much on the jalapeño which made it even spicier. 8/10 He did enjoy the tater tots! We would maybe be back. It wasn't our most favorite place but good for a quicker restaurant dinner. read more

This is a fave. Good Burgers, great salads, great fish tacos (mostly fish!) salmon BLT, all very good. I think their salmon is the best in town right now. Good salmon, perfectly cooked medium. Lots of different beer selections, and they recommend beer with food pairings. Lots of TV's with lots of sorts on TV's. The night we were there the music was loud and the trivia game announcer was louder, so we sat outside in the patio. Food prices are competitive, this is a $35 dinner with drinks for 2, and tip plus it's very good. Tip well. The service is very friendly and very helpful. They always seem like they like their jobs. We go to BOTH locations regularly. I give a slight edge to this location in Millard, food is equally good, I like the location better. read more

The location itself is nice with lots of open seating and plenty of TVs, but I've been several times and I'm just not impressed with the food here, especially considering the price and quality. Most recently I had the fish (cod) and tots and it was ok. The tots were cooked to my liking, golden and crispy, but the fish was greasy, stale tasting, and lacked flavor. The batter did not stick to the fish and slid right off. I've been to different locations and the food and service are consistently ok. They do have a nice craft beer selection and a good "Sunday Funday" special advertised on the menu, but I wouldn't go for the food. read more

Extensive draft beer selection. That's a plus; you'll never get in a rut. We had the waffle fries nachos, local burger, and the Mac and cheese. All were top shelf. The beer cheese sauce and the house pico are fresh approaches to nachos. Nicely done. My wife had the burger with pepperjack. The brioche bun is a nice feature. It was cooked right, juicy, very tasty. I added sloppy Charlie to the Mac and cheese. It would be great by itself, and there are other add on options. Creamy, smooth, great cheese flavor. I recommend it. Lots of tv's for sports fans, booths and high tables, along with bar seating. There's also patio seating, on the east side, so shaded in the evening, a plus in the summer. We were inside, where of course the din was a bit more than we prefer at dinner, but it's a bar, so no surprise or anything. This place is fairly new, but it's quickly going to be a Millard mainstay. Wife and I usually go to the Village Pointe location but we got together with a group of friends and the Millard location was a good spot to meet. Started at the bar and had excellent service. Once the rest of the party came (six total), we moved to a booth and the terrible service began. Group of six sat in the booth and waited for 20 minutes (no exaggeration) to order our beers and appetizers. We saw one server in this time and he filled the waters for a booth still waiting for their party to arrive. Finally, we put our order in. The appetizers for one ticket and out and my wife and I never got ours. We ordered nachos and they just simply never came. Unfortunately, we were on a schedule and had to take our ticket without ever receiving the nachos. This stop ruined our night because we had to go to our event without eating dinner. You'd think it was wall-to-wall busy, but it was not at all. Although the atmosphere was awesome, I'll never go back to this location - the service last night was that terrible. read more

The service here was top notch; the beer selection was very varied! If a person comes here to have a few brews, then I think they will be very happy. I was in town for work and met up with some old friends. The evening was wonderful. I was starving because I'd been traveling all day. The food was quite underwhelming. Suffice to say, the food here is glorified bar food. I ordered the fried pretzel with spicy mustard. The pretzel was fried! Why was I surprised? My goal here was not to create a poem. Rather, it was to share with all those who may come here interested in a light snack with beer, the pretzel really is fried. It wasn't bad, but I would have preferred a regular soft pretzel. No frying is required. That said, I devoured it. I needed more, but I didn't want a lot. I thought the grilled cheese sounded like the perfect comfort food. I ordered gouda on sourdough. It was completely ordinary, very bready and just not satisfying. It was surprising (second time tonight!) the sandwich was less than appetizing. Oh, it'll soak up some alcohol, but it didn't hit the spot. As a hungry day traveler, this was the wrong place to come to eat. But there are many menu items, so maybe other selections are better. I'd stop in here again when I'm in town if my friends want to meet here, but maybe not on the day I travel. I get up at 3:00 in California to end up in Omaha at 2:30. Hit the hotel and get settled in by 3:30 or so having not much to eat all day. On travel days I need sustenance. There's a reason 'Kitchen' is the last word in this establishment's name. read more

I wanted to visit this place from a long time and yesterday I got the chance. The ambience is of a sports bar with plenty of space to sit. This place has a huge variety of beer options and that too locally brewed beer. Nothing is better than a freshly brewed beer. I ordered the Hefeweizen and my friend ordered a Hawaiian porter. The beer were amazing and now I know I have a go to place for beer. We just order French fries to go with and they were okay. Probably on my next visit I will try the food there as well. I have been here 3 times for lunch and it has always been very good! I absolutely love the house salad! It has large chunks of cheese in it that are so yummy and pickled onions. I always order that for my side. I have had the Rueben sandwich twice and the turkey Rueben. They are both very tasty and very filling. The inside is simple with high top tables and long picnic type tables for larger groups. Large amount of beers on tap also. The manager comes around often to check on how you are doing which I appreciate and oversees well. The waitresses are friendly. I will have to try it in the evening. However the service deserved a 1 star review (if that), and it is not the fault of the servers AT ALL. Management makes it so there is no rhyme or reason to the zones (our server had a back corner table, some near the bar, and a few tables outside). They also seemed severely understaffed (although the place was no where near full). I'll likely be back, but not unless I have at least 2.5 hours before I need to be anywhere. read more

In town for a girls' weekend with 2 friends and came in hungry! We seated ourselves and were tended to immediately by Dakotah. It was happy hour, and we made the most of it- 3 beers, 3 burgers, 2 apps. I added bacon jam to mine and it was so tasty! The place was completely full by the time we left which is always a good sign. Next time I would pass on the appetizers ( fried pickles and cheese curds) as they were quite underwhelming. I have eaten at the Local downtown and was excited to see it expanded to the old Millard area which (kind of surprisingly) is under revitalization. Local has one of those menus that makes me want to routinely return because so many items look good. Most recently I sampled the crispy mushroom burger. Overall flavor was great with the portobello mushrooms, greens, Swiss, avocado and tomato but I could of used a bit more mushroom and a bit less bread. My husband got the Rueben and thought it was one of the best he has had and don't forget to order the tots! We were here was a large group and service was quick and attentive. This was my first time at the local in Millard and I will not be returning anytime soon. We sat at the bar and had good service, had 1 beer and waited for the rest of our group to get there. Once we were all seated in a booth it took us 20 minutes for a server to even greet us. We ordered apps and drinks, half of our appetizers never came out.
