Mixed Plate Menehune (Sweet ribs, shoyu chicken, Hawaiian style steak)
    Brittany H.

Fast service, affordable, and really good food. The inside is broken up into two rooms. One is where you order and there are a couple of tables. The second has way more seating. Anyway, not much to say. Just a great spot for some Hawaiian food.

One was a Combo with the 3 meats, one was just chicken

Took my husband here for the 1st time.. He got the Combo that comes with Beef, Chicken and the ribs. He absolutely loved it. We will be back for sure. Wasn't pricy and full with leftovers... so damn good!!!

We were looking for takeout on our last night in town and picked this place. This one might be one of my favorites!!! I got the regular mixed plate and it was A LOT of food. Now I am not complaining cause everything was great!!! I am looking forward to going back and trying other things! Service was fast and friendly. I got the food to go, but they had about 10 or so tables in there to eat at.

Sweet Shoyu Chicken with veggies (instead of mac) and rice (middle size)

Super tasty food! The regular size Sweet Shoyu Chicken with veggies (instead of mac) and rice was SUPER tasty. The prices were reasonable for the portions and the flavor was amazing on the chicken- and soooo tender without any kind of dried out pieces. We will for sure be ordering from here again!!!

Simply one word to describe such a legendary place for so many alumni such as my wife and myself - "home." Living in Portland now after graduating years ago, my wife and I make it a point to make a stop at Local Boyz whenever we go to the coast and are nearby. The smell, the taste, and the atmosphere just remind us of the college days and it's not something that can be replicated - especially with the sauce! We always order the 12b with the ribs and steak and the large size is enough to share between the both of us - unless we're both starving. The one thing I would warn customers about but it's not enough of a shoe stopper - it does have very limited parking spots behind the building on Monroe that is shared among the other business. However, there are parking spots on the campus across the street - not sure if it's free or not.

Delicious Hawaiian plate lunches !!! This is coming from a Hawaiian transplant to OR 14 years ago. ***ONLY*** thing they could improve on would be to change the settings in their Clover POS to give the option to do a Credit card tip for the Ohana working !!! I was glad I had cash but I usually don't but don't want the Braddahs and Sistas not feeling the Aloha

The food is delicious every time we go! We even decided to get it ahead of time for Thanksgiving and heat it up. It did not disappoint.

Decent island comfort food across the street from OSU campus. Good prices and quick service. Lots of seating.

Very mid. I had a lunch item. I pile of rice and some chicken in a white togo box. I was like, huh? Over rated.

The frozen blueberries are wonderful for snacking or baking, and I love the dried blueberries! My husband goes thru a jar of blueberry jam about every week. Its good, organic, nutritious food. We even plan our summer vacations to get to places where we can pick and eat fresh berries. We read about Sunset Valley Blueberries last year and the lengths they go to to get good berries impressed us. Last year we ordered a couple of large boxes of dried berries and ate the rehydrated berries over the winter. The dried blueberries were good. This year we tried the frozen - ordered 30 lbs. They really take their shipping seriously. Shipped wrapped in a plastic bag in a box. The box is in a styrofoam container like the ones sold in stores with dry ice inside of it. The styrofoam container is put into another shipping box. You really have to work to extricate the bag of berries from the setup, but I suspect it is worth it to get the berries in good shape. We are in Wisconsin which is about a thousand miles from Oregon. We've been eating the Wilt Farm blueberries over the past 3 weeks. We've compared them with the other brands of frozen organic blueberries. The Wilt farms berries beat the other organic berries hands down. The other berries defrost to a purple color and leak juice. The Wilt Farms berries stay blue. The Wilt Farm berries don't bleed as much when they are defrosted and they hold together, keep their shape and texture better. They have a nice mouth feel. They approximate fresh berries, and they are wonderfully sweet. They are the closest thing to fresh as you can get. I am impressed. They are pricey, $185 for a 30 lb box which includes the shipping, but frankly they are worth it and you could spend $180 a lot more foolishly than to buy great tasting organic blueberries. We just ordered our second box of the season. If it is any different I will be back to change this rating.
