All the hotdogs on the menu are $8 each except the French Dip $9 and the Carolina $10. When making it a combo (add FF and a drink) add $7 more. My total was $23 for 2 hotdogs, a drink and a FF. The NYC had onions and sauerkraut, the Local had blended queso w/ground beef. The Philly has peppers, onions and provolone, and the Chicago had veggies. All the dogs tasted good cuz they're Nathan's, the bread used was fresh, FF were tasty, the wieners could be hotter (temperature wise) upon serving. And there could be more ground beef in the queso on the Local dog. The sodas have the good ice...soft airy crunchy. Would definitely recommend! We live in Austin and had to make a quick day trip to League City to take my dad. We had recently watched the show featuring the restaurant's renovation and realized we were only about 30 minutes away. Since I rarely get to that part of Texas, we decided it was the perfect opportunity to check it out. The atmosphere was relaxed and laid-back, the service was great, and we loved the dogs. We went all out trying fun menu items and still spent less than $40 for both of us. We would come back on another trip to try some more menu items. The inside has plenty of seating, and they also have outdoor seating. Service was great. We had a delicious, relaxing dinner. One-star reviews seem to be people complaining about their pets being relegated to the outdoor seating area. This is for health code reasons, folks. Just because a hot dog joint has a picture of a dog for their logo doesn't mean you need to have a meltdown when your dog is not allowed inside a restaurant. Cute place! Between 3 of us we tried the Coney Island, Chicago, and Philly dogs (veggie). All were very tasty! Super soft buns too. Don't skip out on the fries (devoured them) or the frosé... it tastes like they muddle strawberries and mix them into it. Yum! There is plenty of room indoors and a nice area outside, but I will say they could definitely be more dog-friendly. With their name and all the dogs with their logo, it'd be extra cute if they had a little dog menu. There's an area that looks like a place where dogs could play but it is for children. First time trying this local spot out. Very clean and inviting on the outside and the inside. Large community style seating was great. Our server was very friendly and explained the menu. He even gave us suggestions as first timers. The food came out quick and was hot and fresh. The fries are fresh cut skin on. They were delicious. The Local Dog comes covered is queso. Why 5 stars? Because these dogs were delicious and not overly filling. --- --- --- My in-laws have made it an annual tradition to get a beach house in Galveston around Thanksgiving every year and Local Dogs was our first stop after we arrived into town. We have a great hot dog place near us in Conroe, but the negative is that after we eat there, we leave with bricks in our stomach. Here, I had a couple of hot dogs and some sides and left feeling like a million bucks. I think the key is that they are not too big, which also gives the benefit of being able to try more, because the menu is full of awesome variety. I went with the Chicago Dog (plus ketchup, minus mustard obviously), and the french dip. I'd give the Chicago 5-stars and the french dip 4. I also appreciated that they had cheese curds as a side, something I'll always opt for when it's on a menu. The fries were really solid too. My husband and I went today for dinner right about 6:15. It wasn't busy at all (but it is Thursday). The employees were all very friendly and helpful with my questions. My husband had the Chicago dog and the chili cheese dog (I don't remember the name of this one). He enjoyed both and said he could tell the quality of the hotdog was top tier. He had the loaded fries with chili and cheese and the cheese was a melted white queso which was a tasty surprise! I had the burger sliders (I'm not a hotdog fan) and they were really tasty! You get three per order and they are way more filling than you would think. I also got regular fries (fresh and tasty). We got an order of the Cajun Corn. Super fun and casual atmosphere here. The service is great - we were actually waited on by the owner himself. I've been hearing it's been crowded here since opening, but today there was almost no wait and we were able to get a table for our whole group (10 people). It's nice how they have the long communal tables. Philly cheesesteak dog was very good but next time I want to try the local dog. Fried very fresh but could have been crispier. Cheese curds were amazing. I want to give a demerit for having Pepsi instead of Coke but I enjoyed my visit so much, I won't complain. Nice merch too. Very cool vibes like a surf shack just off the beach. Funny signs in the men's bathroom. Service was friendly and efficient. Good food. My wife recently went to New York and confidently said the hot dogs here were better. We got a Philly and a NYC dog and a couple of plain dogs. I came here thinking it was a dog-friendly place, but that couldn't be further from the truth. When I brought my dogs, I was told they were only allowed outside--not inside at all. Even more confusing, there's a grass area on-site with a sign that says absolutely no dogs allowed. They also don't offer any kind of dog menu or accommodations. Based on the name and overall vibe, I really expected this place to be much more welcoming to pets, but it's 100% not. Unfortunately, this is not somewhere I would ever bring my dogs again. We stopped by for lunch while in Galveston visiting the Bryan Museum. We've been wanting to try it since we watched the episode on Restoring Galveston. It was a Thursday afternoon. We had no trouble finding a parking spot. Walked right up to the window to order and were surprised to see Michael working. Ordered and took our seats in their large dining area. Just got back from Galveston after getting some awesome drone footage of the Carnival Dream leaving port and needed a bite before hitting the road back to Houston. So happy we tried this new spot! There were a few parking spaces available out front which were appreciated. When we pulled up, there was already a line of people waiting for it to open. A good sign! The menu was great with hot dog and non-hot dog options. My husband got the Chicago and French Dip while I opted for a non-dog option and got the chicken salad sliders. Both hot dogs were great, but the French Dip was definitely better. The only complaint my husband had was that he expected them to be a little bigger which is why he ended up having to get 2. My chicken salad sliders were delish and the perfect amount of food for me. We sat outside on the patio which was nice and definitely kid friendly with there being a lot of outdoor games to play. Finally had a chance to take my two wieners here and I'm glad I did. Place is super clean and organized, and the staff was extra friendly and helpful with what to order, what's popular, and even offered sides, drinks, and desserts. They've also got some cool local dog hats and T-shirts. I went with the Local and the Coney Islander (chili cheese dog) and both were on point I would def recommend to try them both! One thing I have to say that I truly love about their Coney Islander (chili dog) is that the chili didn't have running juice going everywhere on the bun making it soggy. Beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere! I couldn't finish the Philly because it was bland and the cheese had a rubbery texture. The hush puppies and jam were absolutely delicious. You could tell they were made from scratch, which made them stand out. Because of that, I ordered the chicken tenders hoping for the same quality, but they tasted more frozen than fresh. In Galveston for a few days, decided to try local dogs based on Restoring Galveston show. Was not at all surprised by how nice the building was based on Ashley and Michael's work.
