Super friendly staff. Very open interior. Interesting ice cream flavors like cucumber tajin and sour skittles. Got the caramel apple and key lime pie on two separate occasions. Big fan of the key lime pie.

I like getting ice cream here when we are in Galveston. They come up with new flavors every time and their flavors are tasty. The cookie monster is usually what I get and I think it's a pretty delicious and solid flavor. I got the black walnut during our current visit here and it is a coffee-flavored ice creams which was pretty good. They have mini, small, and medium scoops available. The prices range between $3-$5 for the scoops. A banana split was $9. They only have street parking which may be challenging if the Strand is busy because this place is close to the Strand. Read the street parking signs because you may need to pay depending on which street you parked. The staff is also helpful and they don't mind you sampling their ice cream if you can't decide which flavor you want. They have ample seats inside and a couple outside the place. Overall, I recommend this place to help with this triple digit Texas heat!

Delicious homemade ice cream in a variety of flavors that are changed out frequently. Plus, you'll always get service with a smile! 10/10 recommend!

The icecream here was so fun and creative! There's some great flavors you don't find in every other icecream shop!

Strawberry remains enjoyed down to the very last drop!

STOP AND GET SOME OF THIS ICE CREAM! My family and I visited "Hey Mikey's" ice cream shop while on vacation in Galveston, and I am so glad we did. The ice cream is LOCAL HOMEMADE. It tastes fresh and the flavor selection is delicious! My favorite was cake batter, but the nutter butter is also delicious. The kids loved the strawberry poptart, Oreo, and cereal milk. The turtle trax is also delicious. Old fashioned root beer is delicious, and if a shake is more your style they have great shakes too. 5 stars all around, great quality, good price, amazing flavors. The staff was friendly and very accommodating!

I've come here quite a few times and each time my ice cream tastes good. Their Nutella flavor specifically is the one I always opt to try. The last time I went I wanted a brownie sundae, but unfortunately they were out of brownies. The service is good, but the ambiance is just okay. It's also worthy of mentioning that I attempted to come here 2x in the past 2 weeks, and both times this place has been closed despite saying it was open on Google. No mention of updated hours on Instagram either. If they're going to be closed during normal business hours, they should really post somewhere online that they're not going to be open. Luckily, I live 2 mins away, but I would be even more upset if I drove here from the west side of the island just to find out they were closed.

Good ice cream spot in the downtown area near a bunch of other shops and restaurants! Employees are super kind and patient when trying out different flavors! It's a small, casual space with very limited indoor seating. Tried to strawberry flavor, which was light yet creamy!

Little ice cream shop in the heart of downtown! Got a huge scoop of chocolate ice cream on a waffle cone! The workers were so nice and friendly! Also energetic. The space is simple, clean, and rather small!

Super cute ice cream shop! We got ice cream and walked around the area. Down to the water front and got to see dolphins. Employees were so nice and gave great recommendations. The Nutella shake was so good.

Painting inside ice cream parlor. Love it! :)

Love their ice cream staff friendly and lots of toppings and flavors to chose from. Oh the possibilities..they even have a doggy bowl outside for dogs to quench their thirst. I love this painting inside too.

April 19, 2022 (Tuesday 3:45p) Graving ice cream...bright a friend and bought us banana splits ($7.50 each) We got 3 scoops w/3 toppings. She got strawberry, blueberry and pistachio ice cream topped w/hot fudge, nuts and caramel sauce I got coffee, thin mint and salted caramel ice cream topped w/granola, strawberries and chocolate sauce. They were fantastic! But... Mikey's didn't have any whipped cream for a banana split ...that's just wrong! They didn't have fresh cookies either...what's going on?!!

The honey flavored ice cream was delicious. Not too sweet and the texture was so velvety and smooth. My complaint stems from it being a Saturday night on Galveston island, the end of summer, the wait is out the door and there were only two employees. The female was busting her tail to get everyone in/out but I watched the male play with putting his gloves on for like 10'mins. My husband claims he won't return because he tried to order a specialty shake in a size "small" but was told he's only allowed to order a large. Personally, I don't mind haha. Also, the store layout isn't very productive. The toppings are at the front of your ordering process and then all of the flavors follow. So a lot of customers were walking from the register section back to the end of the line to pick toppings. The shop is long and narrow so there was a lot of turning your body sideways to pass/allow others to pass.

It felt kind of cluttered. I expect they must have a patio setup on nicer days, but on this day all that equipment was taking up all the space right inside the front entrance. I'm not much on sweets. I can be talked into an interesting cookie, but this was not the place I expected and I don't think they sold cookies or interesting milk flavors from what I could tell. They do sell sketchy looking hot dogs and pizza. I'm not sure who orders that. It seems like they specialize in ice cream. I tried one flavor and it was pretty sweet for me. I'm not much on sweets so that's not hard to do for me. I stood around letting my wife pick her flavor. I would have waited outside given how cramped the space felt, but it was pouring rain. My wife mentioned the place has artwork and stuff. I didn't see that and didn't know to expect it. I also heard there is a wine bar somewhere on the premise. I may have to come back and give that a try.

My boyfriend got their sandwich that was similar to an Italian sub, which comes with the olive spread on it. He liked his sandwich, but felt the olive spread was overwhelming and scraped most of it off. He later said that had there been less of it on the sandwich it probably would've been better for him. My stomach was a little upset, so I was looking for something milder. So I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich off of the kids menu. Maybe it's just me, but a grilled cheese sandwich is American cheese on white bread, grilled. Here, apparently children eat cheddar and Swiss on a grilled roll. I asked to hold the Swiss, and went with straight cheddar as American was not an option. It was OK, but nothing to write home about in my opinion. Apparently this is a popular spot, as the tables were full both before we arrived and after we left, but unfortunately, we did not have an overwhelmingly positive experience.

I wasn't a fan of the vanilla latte, as it was much too sweet for my taste, and the regular coffee was just okay--it lacked the bold flavor or kick I was hoping for. The interior of the restaurant is small, but interesting. The pizza making portion of their kitchen is visible from the tables, so you can watch them as they make the pizzas. Our waiter was super friendly, and the service was excellent. We started off our meal with the fried mushroom appetizer. Usually, when you order fried mushrooms, you get an entire mushroom dipped in breading and fried. Here the mushrooms are chopped into chunks before breading and frying. It came with both marinara and ranch for dipping sauces. We loved having the smaller chunks, because if you've ever eaten fried mushrooms, you know that when you bite into them , the juice can sear your mouth. By using smaller chunks, it was much easier to eat, especially when piping hot.
