When I went to go wait inside no one bothered to check my order. It actually separated in the cup which I have never seen that before. It tasted like water and matcha powder. I want to start by saying this review has nothing to do with the service we received. The staff was pretty good at answering questions and nice enough It's the prices. We spent $45 for two drinks and two burritos. We literally went out to eat last night and spent less and came home with leftovers. The burritos are $15 and pretty small. The ingredients are quality though so I'm assuming that causes that price point. Additionally, $7 for a cortado....?! That's actually crazy lol. I didn't know the price cause it was one of their specials until after we already paid. I wouldn't have gotten it if I had known a 5 ounce drink was $7........ Anyways, cute as a one time date but won't come back Also didn't want to add this but there was a small hair in my burrito too. I didn't complain to staff about it, I just ignored it and threw the rest of the burrito away. The only reason I bring it up on the review is because I saw another review with a similar complaint. Tried out one of the foodies... did not disappoint, I appreciate the crispy bacon bits. My fiance on the other hand wasn't a fan of it, due to the feta cheese it also has. Kind enough to pre-cut it! FAIR WARNING, the sauce it comes with is very spicy... I can handle to a certain extent, it pairs nicely with the Cholula but personally would opt out of the sauce the burrito it comes with just because I can't handle. Tried out another of their drinks too. New fav from them, the royal Hawaiian mocha! Can taste the coffee at the end and it's not too sweet, did ask them to adjust to 50% sweetness. Def sticking to it. Fiancé tried foggy bottom cold brew. The name itself is def it, it's like slushie frappe blend on the top and coffee at the bottom that stays separated... Definitely bold, dark and foamy. If you enjoy boldness, yes, unless your a coffee sweet tooth like me, avoid and try out the royal hawaiian mocha instead!! read more

The highly anticipated Local Joe West is now open at The Element apartments! A lot of people have been eyeing this spot out since the signs went up earlier this year. I was personally excited as I actually had the town location and original store on Yelp saved but I was never able to make it. Now that there's one closer to where I live, I was super excited to check it out! The location is easy to get to and there are dedicated parking stalls within the apartment parking lot. They have ample seating outside to enjoy your nice iced coffee in the Westside sun! Service is exceptional; I love being greeted with a smile as I walk in. Their employees are still training to prep for their official grand opening, so it may take some time when it's busy, but their kindness and customer service make up for it. I tried a few of their specialty drinks since opening, including the The Audrey Hepburn, the Royal Hawaiian Mocha, Thai Latte, Matcha Latte and The French Toast Latte. So far, I've found my favorite to be the Audrey Hepburn which had a nice cinnamon touch to it; and it happens to be one of their most popular. My least favorite was probably the Matcha Latte, there was no sweetness to it and it lacked flavor overall; which is such a bummer because I'm usually a big fan of match products. Another thing to note - their menu prices reflect the smallest size of drink; I assumed it was for a medium, so when I was charged for an "upsize" the first time, I was caught a bit off guard. Looking forward to the smiles and coffees to come. I know they are also expecting their latte printing machine soon, which I am definitely excited about. All the milks you could hope for, lol! The desserts are delicious; I can't pass them up when I visit. In fact, when I'm anywhere near this location, I hop off the highway to grab either an ice cold or steaming hot coffee. The shop is pristine, the service is prompt and pleasant, and the vibe is super chill. Next visit, I intend to order food with my coffee and take advantage of their ample shade and crosswinds (thanks to their clutch corner location) which allows for outside work (if you don't want to sit inside). Service was great and location was easy for parking. I ordered an iced latte with almond and macadamia nut milk. I do appreciate they had so many alternative milk options! Since they were closing and had an extra shot on hand, they asked if I wanted it. I should have said no bc my drink was way too strong and I couldn't drink it. If it wasn't closing time I would have added to have them fix it, but I had to just bring it home and add my own water and almond milk to make it drinkable. This was probably my own fault and I'll have to give them another try to I can give a better review. read more

I really wanted to like this spot. Recently opened "inside" The Element in Ho'opili. Local Joe's is a coffee shop/cafe that provides drinks, food, and grab-n-go options. I've been here a few times and each time I tell myself to ignore my previous experiences and give them another chance. Drink reviews: Strawberry Matcha: this literally tastes like milk with powder. The first time I tried it I thought that they didn't mix it well and the matcha powder just sunk to the bottom of the cup. The second time I ordered it, same thing. A very strong powder texture and taste. I wouldn't recommend. French toast latte: it was ok. The taste was very sweet but to me, nothing exceptional. Filthy Chai: $9 for a large drink that taste like milk and water. Honestly, to me, I wouldn't recommend spending large amounts of money of average drinks that are overpowered by sweetener or milk. I wanted to also point out a few minor things: - the left door at the entrance doesn't swing open all the way so be careful. It's a sudden stop when it reached 3/4 or it being open. If you're pulling the door open at a quick speed, you're gonna be met with a sudden stop of the door and could hurt yourself. It's also awkward because you're holding the door open for someone, it looks like you're not opening it 100%. You have to see the door for this to make sense. - there is no trash can at the pick up counter. There was none on their first day and there was none yesterday when I went in. It's been weeks since you've been open. A small cup labeled "trash" does not count as a trash can. - the workers should wear a hair net or AT LEAST put their hair up and put of their face and up from their shoulders when making the breakfast sandwiches. read more

Absolutely adore this coffee shop. Parking is tight but many times people just park on the curb and no one seems to mind. There is a little bar area to sit inside and a few tables and chairs outside. The breakfast bagels are good and cream cheese is generous. Pastries are delicious here too. Coffee is dope here with different selections of milks and creamers to fit everyone's lifestyle. The staff is what brings me here over and over again. They know their coffee (Cody is awesome to get inspiration from or recommendations) and you can tell they love their customers. I usually get a cortado with oatmilk or a black eye. Prices can be a little high but you are paying for quality at this shop. Definitely my go to on an early morning coffee run! read more

Loved this little coffee shop tucked away in a small, quiet subdivision - down the road from Ka Makana Mall. Had an iced latte and a breakfast burrito. Agreed the $15 tag for the burrito was high, but totally worth it. Filled with yummy spinach, tater tots, cheese and bacon - all topped with salsa. So yummy. This is a long overdue review. I was excited about local Joe's coming to the west side as there are no cafes out here. I stopped by around 6 months ago not long after they opened and ordered an omelette. Unfortunately it was terrible, I can honestly say it was the most overcooked omelette I've ever eaten. My wife's omelette was the consistency of cardboard. I should have asked them to remake it, but was almost too stunned to even bother. The iced coffee was undrinkable, it tasted like burnt espresso. I feel conflicted writing this review because I want this business to succeed as we desperately need a good cafe in this part of the island. On the other hand, I'm blown away that they have 4.5 stars given how egregiously bad their food is-- perhaps the terrible food and coffee was just a hiccup related to the new opening. Cute little coffee shop in Hoopili. Super close to the freeway. My sister & I decided to give this place a try. We found street parking down the road as we read not to park in the apartment complex. It was super busy when we arrived, however, all the employees continued to thank everyone for their patience & with a smile on their faces. It's a nice friendly atmosphere. I ordered an Iced French Toast Latte & a Guava Strudel. The French toast latte was really good, not too sweet like I was expecting. The guava strudel though, oh my goodness. It was so good. My only complaint is that i wish it was bigger. My sister ordered the ABC Bagel & a White Chocolate Mocha. The ABC Bagel was amazing! Definitely must try. read more

Just so happen to always visit this neighborhood because it's near that boba place. My very first drink here was their green matcha with strawberry. Not bad. On my second trip I had their vegan drink with lox and bagel. That too was not bad either. Today I had their Vietnamese cold drink with their guava strudel. Vietnamese coffee is always potent when it comes to drip coffee so I had to add my own raw sugar and extra condensed milk when I got home. Still potent to keep my eyes wide open. Strudel was small bite and it was ok. There's parking spaces next to the homes but I think it's only 3 spaces. I will surely be back and try more drinks. read more

This place has the best atmosphere nice and breezy with a lot of wind coming through giving it a perfect setting. they even have outdoor seating's which is perfect because you get to see Vehicle and pedestrian traffic from the left and the right corner if you're facing out of the restaurant if you have pets or kids that needs to run around on the grassy area and even have grass in the front lawn or you can monitor and watch your kids as you eat breakfast or brunch and the good thing is they are open until 2 PM so you can actually go over there by 1 PM have lunch and enjoy one hour of good time on top of that they do not chase you all. We even know if we stay over 230pm They wait until the last customers leave. My experience with especially pleasant because I ordered the coffee and I wanted to spice the coffee, a little bit more with milk and vanilla, and they were able to complement that for me so I gave him a good tip because they did not charge me for it because the coffee was a little bit too strong for my taste of this tells you that the customer service is great the atmosphere and the environment is perfect the inside ceilings.
