Oahu is a small island; small enough that one may not consider it having areas that are considered the boondocks. Local Joe ( West ) is in East Kapolei which is technically a part of Ewa Beach. East Kapolei is developing so it may no longer qualify as the boonies, but it's close to it. Local Joe has been on the corner of No Hope St...make that...Nana Hope Street and Hoomohala Avenue for three years. It is situated within the apartment complex, The Element: the element is heat. I ordered via the mobile app, Save A Bite - which promotes sustainability and affordability while preventing ( in their own small way ) food waste. They've partnered with Local Joe to provide mystery boxes at a fixed price. The consumer doesn't know what they're getting for their small, medium, and large boxes. I ordered a small mystery box. I got a small Iced Thai Tea and a breakfast burrito for $7...mentioned that I don't care for seafood. There isn't any way ( that I know of ) to alert an establishment of allergies or preferences via the app. Burrito was excellent: egg, bacon, potatoes, spinach , and sausage. Thai tea was ok. Employees were cool and accommodating - which was good because outside...it was scorching hot. Arrived early, around 230p; the time frame for picking up your Save A Bite mystery box is from 300p to 500p. Hours are from 600a till 500p on weekdays. Open 700a till 500p on the weekends. Three stalls with a 15 minute time limit are to the right of Local Joe, in The Element's driveway. Street parking...good luck. Local Joe has a Chinatown location.

We ordered the Macadamia Nut Matcha Latte with Oat milk and Breakfast burrito. The matcha was way too sweet for us, so I would skip that. The breakfast burrito was good, it came out piping hot, filled with eggs, bacon, tater tots, spinach, feta, sour cream in a vegan tortilla with a side of guac and salsa. It was more filling than I thought! Service was nice and friendly! Would come back again to try their coffee next time.

I love this little coffee shop! I recently tried a few items through Save a Bite and it's allowed me try things I wouldn't normally order. The strawberry matcha is delicious - that's coming from someone who doesn't even like matcha lol I've gone back and ordered it at least twice. The abc bagel is really good and I enjoyed the croissant as well! I can't wait to go back and try more things, the staff is pretty friendly and they've always gotten us in and out fairly quickly.

Ambiance- 5 stars Food and drink- 5 stars Service- 3.5 stars I visited this coffee shop yesterday after my morning workout and this made me want to habitually discover a new coffee shop every Wednesday ! First, this spot is located on the corner of Ho'omohala and Nana Hope street near the Ho'opili community. Btw, this area blew up! Such a family friendly and cute neighborhood! Second, there is no designated parking for this coffee shop so you will have to find somewhere on the street to park. Beware, there are nparking signs across the street that indicate "No parking " so be sure to pay attention to signs. They tow! Third, the service was slow because there are only two baristas who worked as efficiently as they could so I wouldn't come here if you're in a rush to go somewhere. I ordered a large, French toast hot latte and their breakfast burrito that came with a small container of salsa. Everything was delish and believe that nothing went to waste after the calories I burned at the gym. Hehe. The French Toast latte brought back memories and felt like I was holding the season of Fall in a cup of:) Definitely recommend that you check it out if you're a coffee fan. Other seasonal beverages include the Audrey Hepburn, Royal Hawaiian Mocha and Thai latte. Spot the new stuffie?

Cute little neighborhood coffee house. Simple menu & adequate amount of outdoor seating to get your morning going in relaxing setting. Lots of street parking right in front. They sell cute bottles of h20 as well.

Always always a treat when getting coffee from Local Joe. The service never disappoints, the coffee is bomb and strong, and I absolutely love the gyros!!! My usual order is the Audrey Hepburn, so so good!! The coffee shop can get really busy but the workers manage to still deliver the best drinks and food. Their pastries are delicious too, I've tried the banana bread and wow, so soft and the moisture, so yummy!! Love that they offer merch, support local, and have a good amount of outdoor seating!

Local Joe Such a great experience at Local Joe! Highly recommend the breakfast croissant and banana bread coffee both were so good! The service was warm and welcoming, and they really made you feel like you belonged. That kind of hospitality makes all the difference. Definitely worth checking out!

Local Joe West is located in the Ho'opili community in Ewa/Kapolei. They have a nice little shop nestled in the corner of The Element condo units. French toast latte, matcha latte, and mango bread are all great! I'd also recommend trying their weekly specials on the menu if you can. Also, if you order your hot latte or coffee for here they serve it to you in a nice mug which you'll return when you're done. 4-5 dedicated parking stalls marked for Local Joe's in the Element parking lot right next to the shop. Stop by if you're out on the west side!

Grateful to have a local coffee shop right in Ho'opili! This time around my wife and I went and a jog around our neighborhood and last minute decided to stop by Local Joe's for a quick bite to eat. Fortunately, we stopped by Local Joe's to have their burrito and a latte. The staff was kind and friendly, as always. Of course, I recognize faces in the area while there. After getting our food and drinks, we sat down and enjoyed our time together. We had our daughter and goldendoodle with us, but it didn't seem to be a bother to anyone. Local Joe's has a great ambiance to enjoy your coffee. Thank you, Local Joe's. Let's support local!

Not so local but still local Joe. Thanks for expanding to Ewa! Well what's in Ewa? You're definitely adding to that conversation. Was looking for a late morning caffeine pick me up and I have been lifted up in so many ways. High ceilings, local art lining them and great service. Thanks Ola! Looking forward to being greeted by more of your gems and pieces in the future. Gotta peep this local treat whenever you're in the area. They have an OG location in downtown where they roast our coffee fresh, the not-so-secret secret to great coffee.

Such good drinks! I love coming here for their strawberry matcha after work. I love their art and games inside as well, just wish it were bigger or had more seating.

This is a super cute coffee cafe, that have a bunch of fun flavor combinations and are reasonably priced. I got the French toast ice latte with cold foam. The best part of the drink was they offer fun pics to put on the foam. You scan the WR code, pick any pic from your phone. You will get a number. Before picking up your drink let the barista know the number and it goes in a cool machine and you end up with such a cute detail! I only gave 4 stars as I felt the coffee was a little biter. I also wish they had a low fat milk options as I cannot drink milk substitutes.

    What's the parking situation like?

Thanks for asking. We have a few assigned stalls directly in front of The Element's leasing office maybe 100' away from our shop. Many customers have parked directly in front of the shop without issue for short periods. Then there's street parking…

It seems like this is not only a spot for tours, it seemed like locals and military personnel know about this place and stop by for a cup of coffee. I like how they have an actual cafe with fun drinks and muffins and pastries, which is probably what brings in local guests. They have samples of certain coffees inside the gift shop plus a lot of fun gifts. The coffee is a bit pricy but I landed on getting the coffee cake flavor. I typically do not love flavored coffee, but the sample was so good, I hope once we grind it is is as good as while being here. Some of the other dark roasts were also really good but even more expensive. If they coffee we purchased turns out to taste good, I would purchase more next time. They told us they coffee gets replaced at least once a week and they roast it fresh. I loved how you can walk through the coffee plants and see the berries. The kona coffee itself wasn't the best coffee we've tried, but glad we were able to try. I guess we are just so spoiled in San Francisco.
