Local oven is amazing! The best gluten free burger buns I have ever tasted. So good, you won't believe they are GF! The texture is unbelievably good; they do not crumble or fall apart; and they are rather light weight (not at all like most brick GF products). I don't know how they do it, but I don't want them to stop! Also, the burger buns are individually packages, so you can pull out the freezer only what you need and save the rest. Their mini-French bread, dinner rolls and pita bread are all great too. They also make biscotti (I won't rate it, since I don't like biscotti in general). My favorite thing about Local Oven is by far the GF burger buns. Their products are now available in many DFW area restaurants. Their website contains lists of place you can find their products. Any time I'm able to have a date night, the first thing I do is scope out the local oven website to see the newest locations where their products are available, and then I head there. I have been gluten intolerant for over 2 years and just discovered that Local Oven was in my general area and available to me. We made our first visit this past weekend and I was thrilled with our findings. We were greeted by Todd, who was so friendly and a wealth of GF knowledge. He was naming off all the local restaurants that serve their GF products. We sampled Local Ovens Onion dinner rolls that were phenomenal ( we had just finished eating breakfast and still enjoyed every bite) The items are individually frozen in airtight packages, I liked that I could purchase by the piece rather than having to purchase six or twelve packs knowing I wouldn't get through them before getting freezer burnt or something. Also space is limited in the freezer, so I could get 2 of each item I wanted and still not take up the entire freezer. Make sure you get on the mailing list so you can be informed about sales and new restaurants jumping on the GF bandwagon! Fortunately my husband works nearby and can stop by anytime to replenish my inventory :) We will definitely be returning. read more

After being diagnosed with Celiac Disease almost five years ago, I have tried a ton of gluten free products - most of them being terrible and nothing like "real" baked goods I knew pre-gluten free. A friend recommended Local Oven to me and I figured I would give them a shot. HOLY COW! This week I've enjoyed their Italian Herb baguette, their dinner rolls, and their chocolate chip biscotti - ENJOYED. For the first time in years! Their customer service is fantastic. Todd told me about all of their products, a little bit about the company, and told me if I had any questions all I needed to do was call and speak with the owner. The best part is that they are supplying hotels and restaurants all over the Dallas metro with their baked goods. I now have a whole list of restaurants I can eat at! We first met Local Oven at the Gluten Free Expo last fall. We spoke to Todd then and visited their store once it opened. I now make regular trips there to stock my freezer with delicious gluten free breads. My 10 year old son was diagnosed with celiacs disease about a year ago. This is the only bread he will eat - he is a huge fan!! We buy baguettes, hot dog buns and hamburger buns regularly. Oh - and I absolutely love the bang up job they are doing getting their products into our local restaurants. The best kept secret around! I have tried their bread at some of the Kenny's restaurants and finally made a trip to the store front to try out some of their other items. They have a wide variety of bread products to choose from and you don't have to buy in large quantity, but if you choose to stock up it freezes great. I think my favorite products so far are the pita bread and onion rolls - really light and flavorfu! The only caution is that once you try it -- you can easily become addicted :-) Be sure to check out their website and join their email list to find out which restaurants carry their product - its a great way to find out where you can eat. As a sufferer of Celiac Disease for the past 8 years, I had resigned to the fact that very few options existed for anything that even remotely tasted or felt like "normal bread". And then I discovered Local Oven......wow! Their facility is a 100% dedicated, gluten free bakery where amazing fluffy, tasteful, and healthy hamburger bun, hot dog buns, breadcrumbs, rolls, etc are made fresh daily! My fiance is not gluten free, but he eats everything I bring home from Local Oven because it is just that good! My family's favorite place to eat is at twisted root burgers and ever since being gluten free I've not been able to eat there. I found out about this gluten-free bakery from the people at Kenny's Italian Grill. Kenny's uses their products in all three of their locations. I immediately went to their store and purchased hamburger and hot dog buns, small 6 inch baguettes, longer olive and cheese baguettes and pita pockets. My daughter and I love their products. Local Oven is the best! Even those not on a gluten-free diet would be thrilled to have such yummy products. These are not your typical gluten-free breads. They are delicious! Really delicious. i was fooled when I first tasted the hamburger buns and the pita. And the baguettes prepared as bruschetta are heavenly. Their breads come individually packaged and frozen so they are very easy to transport as well as use when you want them. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
