Let me make this clear, I do not like leaving negative reviews but I also do not like being fooled by fictitious reviews. I'm usually very skeptical when a new restaurant has so many positive reviews and I welcome the challenge of debunking them. The location is in a very small plaza with not much happening aside from the extremely hyped up "Tacos &Tattoos" which was great when they first started. This pizza joint seems to be trying to emulate the "hipster" approach of their neighbor and they fall very short of GOOD PIZZA. They are extremely friendly and professional and it's unfortunate that the pizza does not match their service. The pizza was lacking in quality cheese and the crust was very hard and overcooked. The pepperoni was beyond greasy and the pizza had the consistency of cardboard. I'm from up north so I fold my pizza and eat it with my hands and this pizza was not enjoyable at all. So price wise the damage was $25 for an 18" Pie and two bottle cokes. The 3 stars are for the friendly service and they genuinely seem like nice people. The pizza itself gets 1 star. read more

So, like many others I went to Tacos and Tattoos and I saw this cute little pizza place next door. I told my brother "we HAVE to go there" because I am a lover of pizza. (I mean who isn't?!) Anyways, today after class my brother ordered through the phone and I had the pleasure of picking it up. As soon as I walked in to this little gem, the delicious smell of pizza filled the air. I was already imagining how scrumptious it must actually be. The whole ride home I was trying to hold my anxiety of wanting to eat it already. I'm sorry... Not trying to offend anyone... But Miami people simply don't know good pizza. Probably for the same reason I don't know good Latin food. I saw all these 4 and 5 star reviews so I decided to try it out myself. The pizza is just ordinary. Nothing special about it. In Miami it's probably a great pie but anywhere in the country where there's a large population of Italians this pizza wouldn't get a pass. It tasted "passion-less"...like a pie that was made by a random person who just decided to open up a pizza joint one day...not by somebody who grew up around Italian food. What makes the difference between a really good pizza and a GREAT pizza? One word, LOVE. Pizza Project really cares about their pies and you can taste it in the selection of the ingredients and see it in the craftsmanship of the pizza. I decided to give this place a try since I was craving a Hawaiian pizza, not from some big chain store. When I got on Yelp and saw the other reviews, the Buffalo Chicken also stood out. I went half and half, sweet and spicy. The Buffalo Chicken is AMAZING, tender white meat chicken, creamy blue cheese crumbles and perfect kick of buffalo sauce. The Hawaii Five-O is no slouch either. The shredded coconut topping really makes it a unique pizza, makes me wonder why I haven't always had it that way! We were weekly regulars at Pizza Project. The owner of Pizza Project sold it. They were awesome people, great vibe and the food was amazing!! Well, if you were a fan of the old place, please please save yourself and don't go.... Their amazing garlic knots that were the best thing I ever had are now just underdone boring rolls with garlic oil and parm. Their thin crust flavorful pizza with creative toppings are now more like a soggy cafeteria pizza crust and nothing special. The flavorful sauce that was never salty, was replaced by a sauce that you can taste the excess salt in immediately. The salad was watery lettuce, boxed croutons and over dressed with non-flavorful caesar dressing. We didn't even take left overs... and it was not cheap!! It's frustrating, bc it feels like they wanted to buy the name and the clientele, but aren't keeping the standards people went weekly for!! If you were a regular just don't do it to yourself! I am an absolute pizza-addict, and it was ritual to go to pizza project every Friday night. Sadly, I will not be returning. After the change in management, (new owner and chef I hear) I decided I would give them a shot. Last week, I called in my order an hour before I arrived. When I arrived to the store to pick up, I saw a line of about 5 people. A customer was leaving and opened the door for me, and told me "don't waste your time if you havn't ordered yet." I assumed it was just a busy Friday night. I saw a customer arguing with the cashier, "I placed my order two hours ago, and have been sitting here for the last 45 minutes, how is it that it's not ready yet?" I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited patiently. After 20 minutes, I was finally attended to, but the cashier could not find my order. I decided it wasn't going to be a pizza night. I tried again last night, and ordered delivery through Postmates, and received my pizza two hours (and $30 later.) Again, I figured it was just because of the Friday night rush. When I opened my box, I was extremely disappointed. The ingredients looked clumped together and empty in other spots. The pizza was undercooked, and the crust very soggy and greasy. Upon my first bite, the pizza was salty and unappetizing. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else. read more

First bite was like a welcome back party in my mouth from the pizza I use to love there..the Hawaiian. A little tweek was done to it, which they are still perfecting. This is a mom and son owned business, which I love because Im a huge supporter if family owned businesses. Sara (mom) was open to my feedback and demonstrated great customer service and trust. Local Pie has to be one of the best Pizza joints in Kendall, maybe Miami. Eric the owner is a Pizza master & if I were you I would let him custom your pizza according to a bit of vetting. DO NOT fear hanging at the Pizza Bar, Eric holds great conversion and will deliver you the best pie in under 20 mins pending his food tickets. If he's over 20 mins, suck it up, it's worth the wait! Wow. I live close by and my family orders from here all the time when they're in my pool. My sister loves white pies so this is her go to place. Today though I actually stopped in and had the arugula and goat cheese pizza with honey and bacon. Watched the pizza get hand tossed and it came out quick and hot. I'm not too fond of this place as I have experience both very rude customer service, and sometimes nice! One time I was waiting in line for slices (they serve three dollars slice pizzas that are normal in size, nothing too big) I saw that they still had a couple slices left as they only sell slices until they run out, after that they will only sell pies) they also have no other size pies other than extra large so it's almost forcing you to upsize and buy more than what you really want or need! Anyhow, the person behind me seem to have known the owner/employee (not sure exactly who it was but it's definitely seem like the employer was in a higher position like an owner or maybe even management) and asked for a ridiculous amount of slices, and because they knew them personally the employee let them skip ahead of me in line and take all the slices that were left, when I only wanted one or two slices! I made a comment and I said I was first and I really wanted at least one slice but I was completely ignored. I was so upset I just walked out. I made a comment under my breath and said how rude that was and that was so not the right customer service skills! but again, no one seem to care! Again the taste is so so the size of the single slices are a lot smaller than most pizzerias that you go and you asked for one slice. It seems that they favor certain people more than others, and I felt very discriminated because of this. I would never go back to this place as I do not like to be discriminated against or feel less than anybody else plus the taste has been better from many other pizzerias! Nor do I like the fact that they try to push an up sale, and only have extra large pizzas! This is the first pizza company I have ever seen that only offers, one size pizza, and the size that they offer is only extra large! Makes no sense, and don't understand how they're still running! I'm sure if they would treat their customers fairly and not favor some more than others then I'm sure they would have a lot more business as somebody like me see something like that, will not give you a dollar of my money and will walk away and never come back as well as tell everybody I come across not to give that company, any type of business and tell them my experience about it. Never again! I'm not one that only leaves bad reviews, I love to leave great reviews to give local businesses more business but when I see something that is being handled so incorrectly, I have to speak up and report it as well so that other customers know, and if they care for others, as much as I do then, maybe it will stop them from going into a place like this That doesn't seem to care about everybody. A friend took me here because I wanted to go to tacos and tattoos but this was new so I was down for pizza. We ordered the Hawaiian which was different because they add coconut shreds. It gives it a different texture and flavor which is good. The only thing I didn't like was the pineapple and love pineapple on pizza. But their pineapple was sour and did not add the sweetness I wanted on the pizza. Maybe because they use better pineapples that aren't soaked in a sugary syrup but their cooked pineapple was too sour for me. Their pepperoni and mushroom pizza was so good too, even better with Parmesan cheese which added the needed salt. I also ordered the white pizza with the caramelized onions. The caramelized onions was the best thing on this pizza. It was perfect balance of salt and sweet with the onions. They also deliver with ordering from yelp! Easy and convenient :) read more

First time I called this place a few weeks back to order several pizzas for a party and they had a message on their answering machine that they were closed for an emergency and gave no information as to when they were reopening. I just tried ordering again today and again no one answers and I get their voicemail which now states they are closed for a private event. This restaurant seems to be more of a hobby than an actual business. I have never encounter a pizza place that is this difficult to order a pizza from. This place is amazing. We got the Hawaii pie-O, B. Boys, Miami Basic B., plain cheese and then an order of garlic knots. The pizzas are a great size to share with others, and the garlic knots are delicious. Our favorite was the B Boys for the tasty barbecue sauce and ranch on top. The owners are super nice and friendly as well. If we ever make our way back to Miami we will be stopping in again! read more
