Pretty good neighborhood pizza joint. The pizza tastes a lot like "Miami's Best Pizza" from Coral Gables. I've heard the owner of Thad's was originally involved with Miami's Best...so it makes sense they taste similar. What an absolute disappointment this location was. We were excited to try after seeing some great videos, but the experience was less than desirable. There were 4 of us in the party. We ordered 1 fountain drink, 2 Mexican Coke, and a cup of water. We ordered a large pizza and a dozen rolls. The bill was $51.00. The rolls came out first. They were okay. A lot of spicy garlic, but not bad. We did have garlic breath the rest of night, but they were good. The pizza-NOT GOOD AT ALL. This pizza lacked cheese, was burnt, totally crispy and not because it was a thin crust. The staff was too busy talking about making a perfect pizza versus really making a perfect pizza. I am extremely disappointed as were the other three in my party. We will not go back if this is the quality and quantity of pizza coming out. Although it's a hidden cute location, the pizza is less than desirable. The opportunity to be a great pizza is there. But put cheese on the pizza and don't overcook/burn the pizza. Stopped in not even an hour after watching a local food blogger on instagram post about this literal hole in the wall gem that Thad runs. He's a great guy with a stellar pizza making pedigree. He seems to be subletting Mama Dora's pizza while they're not operating which is a genius use of space. The joint is small, maybe 6 tables inside but this is a place you come to get your pizza and run home to eat it. Ordered a large sausage pizza( sausage made in house btw) as is his sauce. Thad has managed to meld these simple few ingredients on a super thin and delicious dough to churn out some of the best pizza this side of the Mississippi. He's open M-F 10:30-3pm and Monday's til 8pm according to google. All I can say is hats off to you Thad for bringing some damn good pizza to the Kendall/Downtown Dadeland area. read more

After a long day of heavy lifting and working we were in the mood to feast and relax. We were please to know that Thads was open this weekend and it's about time we try this pizza spot. From the beginning the young adults (who basically run this place) were on point. We decide to try the garlic rolls and they were perfect. The perfect combination of crunch and soft in the middle. The garlic consistency was excellent. The taste was one of the best in town. We decided to get a half veggie and half meat lovers pizza. One of their best quality was their fresh ingredients as well as the food is made quickly. The food tasted absolutely delicious. It's a nice and chill spot to have some good pizza as well as garlic rolls. To top it all of was the service. These young men and woman were constantly checking in on us as well as listening to our questions. It's always nice to see the youth working hard and putting in the time to perfect their craft. We have no doubt these young adults will be entrepreneurs in the near future. We will definitely be back and look forward to trying some other things on the menu. Great job Thads Pizza!!! My wife and I went after seeing it recommended in a post from Burger Beast--and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We ordered a classic pepperoni pizza with an order of garlic rolls, and everything hit the mark. The pizza was exactly what you want--perfectly cooked crust, great sauce-to-cheese ratio, and plenty of pepperoni with that just-right crisp on the edges. You can tell it's made with care, not rushed. But the real standout was the garlic rolls--deliciously garlicky, warm, soft, and packed with flavor. The kind you keep reaching for even when you're already full. Pro tip: drizzle the leftover garlic from the rolls onto the pizza. Absolute game changer. I read a review about this place. It was one star and then read the owners response. It was eloquent, direct and made a lot of sense. Because of that I had to go see what this place was about. Let me preface by saying I'm originally from Brooklyn and kind of a pizza snob. Before I ordered I asked for Thad the owner. He was standing in front of me so I discussed the review with him. He was an absolute gentleman and so I decided to order a slice. I thought I would be disappointed but was just the opposite. The pizza was pretty much what I was used to. It was thin and crisp but not burnt. The sauce wasn't too sweet and the cheese was a good quality and just the right amount. I was so pleased that I ordered a pie to take home after telling his son who was making them how I like it. From the one star review I read I agree with the owner. Either tell them the way you would like your pizza and if it's not to your satisfaction let them know there so they can correct it instead of just leaving and writing a bad review. It's not fair to the business. I will be going back again and highly recommend Thad's Pizza. read more

The customer service was good, but the quality of the pizza was disappointing. Majority of my pizza was burnt. I didn't notice this until I got home because the it was the other side of the pizza that was burnt. As for the garlic rolls, they had a very strong flavor. This is a hidden Gem! had a chance to chat with the owner and wow what a story! he has been making pizza for over 30 years! originally at Miami's Best Pizza, back in the day. This is the real deal! I remember Thad from my old school days, making pizza at the OG Caesars Pizza in front of UM (later Miami's Best, until they closed about 10 yrs ago). My wife and I went on the other night because I saw a new pizzeria in my neighborhood and was instantly taken back in time. This is thin crust, high quality pizza with a great (and memorable) cheese topping, that I had not tasted since I had last eaten at the old place. I looked behind the counter and immediately recognized Thad (who's name I didn't remember) who somehow looks the same, if only a little older. His whole family is in on the operation, taking orders, waiting the tables. It's still very new, having just opened, (where Pappa Piccolo's used to be), so you have to forgive some of the disorganization. It's a non-pretentious, simple place to eat great quality pizza done the right way. I'll be back regularly. He loves what he does and it shows. read more
