Came for brunch on Sunday. Food was worth the wait and the ordeal to get in. We really didn't know that the place was so hype. We were invited by a friend to catch up. Upon arrival, be prepared that only valet parking. Parking situation is not ideal and there is no option for self parking. If you like, can park on the street and then hike up a very large hill. I would recommend against this as the hill is steep & narrow. Walking the hill is not safe for people to be walking up with cars coming up and down. Once you valet for $15, then you can get on a list for a table. Wait was expected at 45 minutes for table but ended up being only a 30 minute wait. Atmosphere is nice. Music was loud and everyone was having a good time. Lots of mimosa towers and specialty drinks roaming around the restaurant. On to the food. 5 out of 5 stars. I was impressed with my catfish and shrimp. My husband enjoyed his gumbo. We also tried the wings and they were fire. Our server Aisha was very pleasant and attentive. I would return, if in the area but not probably for brunch if I am trying to catch up with friends that I haven't seen for a decade. However the food was good and I would eat all of that again. It's a day club. That's it. The outside had trash everywhere. You pay to park on the weekends and the downstairs area is freezing in the winter. We ordered spinach and crab dip and seafood cake along with a mimosa tower. It was cute that they brought it out with a sign but again it's a vibe and content. Our server was good. The dip was mid, the seafood cake had a good flavor but was full of filler. I had the catfish and shrimp with grits. The catfish was fried hard but still managed to be mushy. The grits were cold and the shrimp was like warm. It was all mid. The mimosa tower was good but they gave us the wrong glassware so yeah, point deducted. 2.5/5. I've come here twice, once 90 minutes before closing and the other 5 minutes after opening . We were taken care of wonderfully each time, it's never loud or with long waits. Their wings and seafood grits are really good, but man I was blown away by their avocado toast. Bursting with flavor and paired really nicely with blackened salmon!! Don't sleep on that! Lol. I visited Local Tap & Table for brunch. Once I walked in I quickly realized it's a turn up atmosphere with loud music. We sat downstairs but then moved to the patio. I was informed by friends they also have an upstairs. The patio could use a design makeover. The bathrooms were filthy and needed tending to. Parking is $15 during brunch time. I ended up being charged $16.84. Food: My breakfast scramble came out cold so I went with the gumbo instead. The gumbo and fried pickles were good and had a kick. My friend stated the chicken was good but the waffle was stall. Service: We were greeted upon arrival and sat immediately. Our server came over in a timely manner and honored our request to eat outside. She was friendly and had a good attitude. A couple of key notes that they do mention on their website: it's best to catch a lyft/uber since parking is $15. There's a 20% gratuity attached to all bills. The hostess, who was really nice, told us 30 minutes and we waited 50. We finally got seated and the young lady came to take our drink order, also really nice/ From the time she took our drink order, it took about 30 minutes to get them. We ordered and waited and then we started to realize the people around us were getting their food before us, and we were there before them and we didn't order anything crazy. The waitress must have noticed it as well, cause as my friend was about to call her over, she was walking to us offering apologies and went to check on our food. When the food was brought out, two of the friend's order was wrong and they had to go fix it. I had the chicken and waffle with a side of eggs. The waffle was cold and the sauce for the chicken was forgotten. The eggs were brought out and look like they were in an oil spill. So much oil was used, part of the egg slid off the plate. My friend asked for the manager. We waited 15-20 minutes and the manager never came to offer an apology or see what was wrong. The best part of this was the hostess and waiter. First off, they force you to valet your car--even though on other days you can park for free. I believe valet was $20, which is wild. Then, when I got to the door, my purse was searched. I asked the security guard why my bag was being searched for brunch, and his response was, "You'd be surprised what people bring in for brunch." Okay... I sat at the bar to have my brunch. The food was mostly good, except the lamb chops had very little flavor. Also, the kitchen forgot my egg rolls, and when I finally got them, they didn't taste quite the same as before. Came in and honestly, I was nervous! The reviews were so mixed but I really enjoyed the food! We had a mix of tacos (chicken, steak, and shrimp), wings, and the Cajun egg rolls. The tacos were decently filled and by far the shrimp taco was the BEST! They could have given a bit more onion and cilantro (but yall know it's not a Mexican restaurant lol). The wings were cooked to perfection! Seasoned well but not overly salty. The only thing they could have been better with the basket is the fries being crispier or cooked longer. Now for the one we MUST run back is the Cajun Crawfish Egg Rolls! So so good ! Well, this was a review that I've been dreading to write, but here we go. The restaurant is next to the Coors Light sign and waterfall. From entry, you get patted down by security for paraphernalia, which to me, started of the night wrong because this isn't a club so why the search? I understand the need for safety, but I feel if a restaurant has to do this then it fosters a certain environment. Next, let's get to the food! The fried fish and shrimp were fire to perfection and had great flavors! The shrimp pasta with salmon on the side was also delicious. Overall, the food tasted really good and was the highlight for this visit. The overall ambiance and service is alright and here's why. As you can see in the picture, our table was a sight for sore eyes. The tables were tightly configured and the chairs were uncomfortable. Adding a dish to your order should be simple, correct? Well it was, but the price changed from the menu to our check, which made it frustrating when we had to change it and our server was rude about the process. The music was very good, 90s and 2000s r&b was playing for our night outing and we enjoyed it. Overall, this place has the potential for better, but will it get better I'm not sure. When I pulled up the ramp, it was towards $15 valet parking. I walked to the front door and the young man would not allow my water bottle inside, this is Texas, you kinda need water on you at all times or you may fall out and die from the heat but his is a restaurant and I get it, so I took it back to the valet who was nice enough to put it back but most restaurants don't even care in Texas. By the time she put our order in and brought my drink back, another gentleman had brought our lukewarm food out with no utensils in less than 5-7 minutes. We asked for fresh food and Ashlyn was on it because even she was shocked by the speed. The food was not worth the cost. It was premade and that is why they disclose no substitutions upfront. I do better at home with French toast, bacon and hard ass eggs, when I like them soft. The drinks were good as I had a blueberry lemon drop martini. My friend had the chicken and waffles with a mimosa. She didn't seem to complain once the food came back out but did when the original lukewarm plate came out. Again, the food served was not worth the price ESPECIALLY being served with PLASTICWARE. You are better off at Waffle House for fresh hot food you see being made and silverware that can actually cut. The ambiance was Dallas Black, the usual DJ with loud music and well dressed young working folks trying to see and be seen. It can be fun or annoying depending on where you are in life. I guess I wanted a better experience. While there, the table next to us went off on their waitress and the manager had to be called out but again, it was the fault off the food and not the server. They should concentrate on doing better in the kitchen instead of having a brunch theme party. I won't be back on my own, someone will have to suggest it but it is always good to see for yourself as your experience maybe different.
