Some people wake up early to go to the gym. Some people wake up early to be productive members of…read moresociety. I set an alarm for National Ice Cream For Breakfast Day. When Candy Mountain Creamery announced they'd be opening at 7am for build-your-own waffle ice cream sundaes, I felt personally called to action. Because if you're not celebrating extremely niche food holidays with reckless enthusiasm, what are you even doing? Also working in my favor: I had recently signed up for the Cumberland Valley Coffee & Chocolate Trail, and realized Candy Mountain Creamery was a participating stop. Two birds. One waffle-shaped destiny. Alarm set for 5:45am on a Saturday. Commitment level: alarming. At 7:52am, with temperatures hovering around 15° and wind chills that felt emotionally aggressive, I walked into the shop smiling like a person who makes excellent life decisions. Parking was easy thanks to their strip mall location -- always a win when you're battling winter just to eat dessert for breakfast. I fully expected chaos. Lines. Fellow sugar enthusiasts wrapped in blankets waiting for their moment. Instead? I was the only one there. The universe clearly said, "This is your main character moment." The staff were warm, friendly, and somehow just as excited about ice cream as I was. They told me to pick three flavors and they'd take it from there. My pre-caffeine brain selected: Cherry Cordial, Banana Nut Bread, and Maple -- which in hindsight sounds like the ice cream equivalent of chaotic good energy. While they prepared my masterpiece, I completed my Coffee & Chocolate Trail check-in and used a coupon for a free medium latte, because nothing pairs with ice cream breakfast like financial efficiency. Moments later, they handed me a golden waffle piled high with three enormous scoops and pointed me toward the toppings bar AND a roaring gas fireplace. I nearly ascended. The toppings bar had everything -- Reese's Pieces, whipped cream, strawberry topping, caramel, peanuts -- and I exercised exactly zero restraint. Reese's Pieces? Yes. Peanut butter drizzle? Obviously. Whipped cream? Don't insult me. Then I settled into a cozy chair by the fireplace and proceeded to absolutely demolish this breakfast like a person with no regrets and excellent priorities. The ice cream itself was fantastic -- creamy, flavorful, and distinct enough that each scoop held its own despite my slightly unhinged flavor combo. The latte was piping hot and perfect for balancing out the sugar-fueled chaos. Honestly, aside from the waffle sundae itself, the fireplace deserves its own Yelp listing. I expected to be freezing while eating ice cream before sunrise -- instead I was warm, cozy, and deeply at peace with my life choices. A few other brave souls eventually wandered in, which reassured me that I am not the only person willing to eat ice cream at breakfast in sub-freezing temperatures. Huge thanks to Candy Mountain Creamery for being one of the only local spots open early enough to support my commitment to food-based holidays, for having incredibly friendly staff, a fantastic latte, and a warm space that turned a cold winter morning into something genuinely memorable!

We stopped by after lunch and some errands. I didn't even know this was here in this little strip of shops. It looks very bland on the outside but inside there are two sections. The first is a modern and clean area where you order your items. The second is a charming farm-vibe area that is warm and inviting. We tried several flavors of the ice cream and ended up with Bunny Eggs (has Cadbury egg pieces inside), Lemon Cookie (has lemon Oreo pieces), Blueberry with lemon cake (blueberry with chunks of lemon cake mixed in), and Heath bar (lots of small pieces of Heath bar candy). Every one of them was excellent. Smooth, creamy, not too sweet, lots of flavor, and the unique flavor was highlighted. I may forever eat lemon Oreos with my vanilla ice cream after that experience. They had lots of great flavors including unique options. I can't speak for the coffee or other items, but the ice cream is a major win. Under $6 for two scoops. Under $5 for one scoop. We had our ice cream in cups, but they have cones including a GF option. I will 100% come here again and again and again. Definitely worth the trip to Dillsburg for this ice cream. Place was spotless. Bathrooms were clean. The person serving was very helpful and answered all of our newbie questions while allowing us to sample a few before making our selections. I can see this being incredibly busy in the warm weather months.

Both my son and myself ordered the R+R Open face, he got the chicken and I got the Beef short ribs. I ordered the Wagyu chili, and my grandson always gets the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich, and finally my daughter loves the Margarita flatbread pizza. We have never had bad service here before and today was not a true depiction of our experience eating here. So what went wrong. I ordered the Wagyu chili and after I was finished the server asked me what I thought of the chili. I said the chili was excellent except the sour cream and cheese, were very cold and it filled half of my cup. The chili was now cold with half sour cream and cheese and it took away for the fantastic Wagyu chili. It was excellent. If you don't want to know the truth.... don't ask the question. She now became very cold and quiet because she took as a direct reflection on her. Unless she filled the cup it wasn't her fault. Now for the rest of the food... .It was a homerun. the open face was outstanding, we were all happy with the food. After paying the bill we were leaving and as we were climbing the steps the bartender and other server said Happy Father's and and we all exchanged goodbyes... EXCEPT OUR SERVER NEVER LOOKED UP AND SAID NOTHING. Had we had known she would take this attitude we wouldn't have left 25% tip. NOW SHE HAS LEFT A SOUR TASTE IN OUR MOUTHS. Here I am writing a very negative review. Believe me I have written a lot of reviews traveling 14 weeks per year. 90% positive. I hate writing these but if you don't know the truth about you service and it will continue on the same path. I believe the other servers knew what was going on and were very friendly upon our exit. I know 1 review on you service does nothing, but a history of bad service you will pay attention. I believe a bad egg is a bad egg. Will this prevent us from making another trip there???? NO. We love your food. You just need to know what is happening. A concern customer Dave S.

Parking was easy, with spots right up front and no meters to worry about, which is always a win when getting kids in and out. The restaurant itself had a relaxed, welcoming feel. Inside, there was a mix of seating options including booths, half-booth tables, and standard tables, plus high chairs available for younger kids. One thing I appreciated was that the bathroom was very clean and surprisingly spacious. When you order, they give you buzzers for your food, and the staff was incredibly kind about it. My kids all wanted a buzzer too, and the employees happily gave them one, which honestly made their night. Small interactions like that really stand out to me when visiting places as a mom. One thing to know before you go: they do not have a soda fountain machine. Drinks are bottled or prepackaged options including Coke, Coke Zero, Diet Coke, Sprite, Barq's Root Beer, Gold Peak Tea, and water. Complimentary water is available as well. They also accept both cash and card. What We Ordered I ordered the BBQ Sampler which included: 1/3 rack of ribs 1/2 lb pulled pork 1/2 lb beef brisket 4 wings 2 sides (I doubled up on fries) Rolls included I also grabbed a bottled Coke. The food came out quickly, definitely no more than about 15 minutes from ordering to table, which was impressive for dinner time. Food Thoughts The fries were honestly one of my favorite parts. They were super crisp and fresh. The wings were good, and I tried one of their newer sauces, a chipotle-style sauce. It personally was not my favorite because it had a much stronger Dijon flavor than I expected, but if you enjoy bold mustard-forward BBQ flavors, you may like it. They also had multiple sauce options available including: Sweet Sauce Mild Sauce Hot Sauce The pulled pork was solid, but the beef brisket really stood out to me. It had great flavor and was probably my favorite meat from the sampler. The ribs were also good, especially paired with their regular barbecue sauce. And what pizza shop that sells stromboli charges you for sauce to go with it? I order a pizza and boli and am expecting $25-27 and end up with a bill of almost $35. absolutely insane. *EDIT* I was going to take this review down because after I arrived home with my order I received a call from a very respectful older gentleman who explained their position on things and while we didn't agree on some of it I at least respected him reaching out and trying to make it better. However, I need to address some of the inaccuracies posted by the owner in his response. I understand prices go up, I expected to spend "$24-$28" like he said, not $35. I did not get a large boli nor did you make it bigger at no extra charge. I get that nothing is free but at every pizza shop I've ever visited they give you a side of sauce with a Stromboli. If you want to charge for it, fine. Make it known when you order, not when I've already handed you my card and then you ask "will you need sauce for this?" Finally, never was I offered a refund for anything, especially the sauce. I was told you had to charge for that but I could receive a discount on my next order for the charge of a substitution that the gentleman said I shouldn't have been charged for. So you offered me $1.50 off my next order, not a refund. Since I won't be coming back after the condescending response by the owner, this does me no good. I had planned to give you another shot based off of the phone conversation but then to just make excuses and be petty online, I'm done. I'm ordering from Mazzone's today because honestly, the quality is better and I'll pay more for quality. (And they didn't charge me extra for sauce or a substitution on my sub) Plenty of places stay in business with average food, that being said, I am going to change my review from 1 star based off of the overall experience to an honest representation of the food itself. So best of luck in the future Millennium, I'll go elsewhere for better customer service. Congrats on your 3 star pizza.

There was no order to the place and it was impossible to tell who was next for service. There was plenty of staff behind the counter (5) but still service was slow. There are no designated parking spots, so it wasn't very clear where I was supposed to park. There is also no seating area or counter to eat at, so you'll have to take it to go. All in all, a worthwhile stop for a great sandwich.
