I recently ordered delivery from this restaurant! I ordered the Classic Smash Burger which comes with an order of fries and your choice of dipping sauce. I chose the Chipotle Ketchup. The Classic Smash Burger consists of two all beef patties on a sesame seed bun. The burger was cooked very well, was cheesy and very flavorful! The fries were seasoned well and are shoestring style. They were good. Not too oily and very plentiful. The chipotle ketchup was okay but not really what I was expecting. It is a bit spicy, perhaps too much to my liking, but I am sure many people would enjoy it. Everything was carefully placed in a nice cardboard box lined with brown paper and sealed. The order itself was placed in a brown paper bag. I do recommend. Food is good, plentiful, and a decent value compared to other chain type restaurants! I wanted to try at least one brewery while I was in town and this place was not far from my hotel. I stopped in mid-afternoon and sat at the bar. I did a flight of 6 beers. The Mouth Breather was my favorite of the 6 I sampled. For lunch I ordered the Street Tacos. I had 2 chicken, 1 pork and 1 steak. They were delicious and I ordered an extra side of crema for dipping. I finished off with a Stumbling Nag, which was by far the best beer I had there. For most of my visit, I was the only customer, which was fine. Nice outdoor seating, but our waitress was very slow at greeting us and we spent probably an hour waiting on our food because of them being shorthanded. We definitely understood the situation, but our waitress was really overwhelmed and neglected her outside tables! When we received our food, it was not as good as we expected, especially for the price that we paid. We will not be returning. We have spoken to other friends that have also had the same experience. The food here is outstanding. I would suggest one of the burgers or the chicken wings. Make sure you get the frites, whatever you get. The service was a bit slow today but it's not always like that so maybe it's just a Monday evening thing. Finally, bring cash if you don't want the 3% surcharge for using a card. I have been here a few times and have had great experiences. The people are always friendly and the food is always delicious. They always have a good selection and variety of beers on tap and their food is definitely "bar food" taken to the next level! The restaurant itself is small so I can see it getting busy at times, but they have a good amount of indoor seating along with a nice patio. read more

Stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon. I was flying solo and getting this year's Dayton Ale Trail stamp. Weather was nice so patio sitting was great. Even being right by the parking lot it was still peaceful. Got the taco Tuesday special, 4 tacos for $12. They are small tacos but still a decent deal. You have 3 choices. I chose 2 each of beef brisket and a chicken. Sampled their sour ( it's not that sour) and had a Hanks which is a nice light lager. It wasn't busy and I got great service. A disclaimer is that I've seen this place super busy and it isn't always this pleasant and laid back. Come before it gets busy is my advice. read more

Lock 27 is an intimate brewpub. The inside boasts an L shaped bar, two high top tables for larger groups near the front, picnic tables along the side, and a handful of four person tables in the middle. We stopped by for a drink and sat at the bar. There are two TV's on either side. The beer list is respectable with around 10-12 beers on draft, 8-9 of which are their own brews. I tried the 'Mouthbreather' IPA and my SO got the 'Wolk' Belgian Wit, both of which are their flagship beers. Both were pretty good, but neither of us were compelled to have a second. We didn't try the food, but they do have a full menu. However, looking at the food prices had me hoping it tastes pretty darn good with generous portion sizes. read more

My wife and I dropped into Lock 27 in Centerville for lunch a couple days ago. Even though it was fairly busy and Katie was the only one working, she absolutely crushed it. She was incredibly nice, hard-working, and knowledgeable. We ordered the chips & queso, wings, and Belgian Frites... everything came out hot, fresh, and delicious. Why are you adding a credit card charge when customers use a debit card. The fees aren't the same, and now instead of recouping the actual fee, you are overcharging. Food was pretty good, good service, clean place. But getting charged a fee for a debit card shouldn't happen. read more

The place was packed on a Thursday evening and they had a trivia going on. The staff were friendly but were not wearing masks. The service was good but due to the trivia it was a bit loud. We decided tonight we are done with Lock 27. Another extremely mediocre experience. The bartender was very grumpy and the food just really missed the mark. We got Mac and cheese ($12) and it was dry pasta with very little cheese or creaminess. I also got the Cuban ($15) and it's probably the worst I've had. Dry old pulled pork, very little cheese , and I couldn't tell it even had mustard on it. They also no longer offer the house made chipotle ketchup. Just another disappointment. I would have to assume the owners are pretty tough to work for. They have been plagued with turnover since they opened. Multiple brewers, many cooks in the kitchen, and almost always a new face behind the bar every time we go. There is lots of competition popping up like Loose Ends, Warped Wing Springboro, and Crooked Handle added a kitchen with amazing food, and Mudlick Taphouse is moving to Springboro. I am out of reasons to support Lock 27. Mediocre experiences and grumpy service don't get my money. read more

The GOOD; wings are simply outstanding! The one constant. Requested a few samples of the beer, bartender served but had nothing to offer in the way of commentary. In addition to the wings, ordered the OHIO BBQ platter ($18) for what appeared to be less than a cup of shredded pork, cold German potato salad (typically served warm), an amazing 1/2 ear of corn and a WECK roll that was simply too salty to enjoy. Partner had Philly dip with fries. Again, everything was too salty. Place wasn't busy, so expected an attentive and engaging bartender...expected, didn't receive. Prior to ordering BBQ, I asked if it was a platter or sandwich, as the description included "& weck". The service is great, very attentive and the manager even came by to check on us AND picked up our plates! Since it was my first time I had no idea what beer to try and I was given the best recommendation! On to the food, they have nachos! These aren't on regular tortilla chips either, they are on these lightly fried chips, like legit tortilla chips. This place is fairly small so it gets busy and packed on a weekend. Great beer options. They have a cocktail menu but I would avoid. Both Lock 27 locations have failed to produce cocktails resembling what you order, i.e. the cosmopolitan tastes and looks nothing like a Cosmo. It's not their shtick, I get it but then don't offer cocktails. The food has pretty much always been good here. Salads are a large size, the dry rub wings are my absolute favorite with a delicious peach habanero sauce and a Sriracha blue cheese. My second favorite is the Brewers mac with chicken and a side of the peach habanero sauce to kick it up. The poutine is amazing!!! Definitely the apps here are perfect for sharing. Oh, it's so delish, topped with popcorn. It's a destination soup! It should come with a warning label that says 'warning, you'll never enjoy other soups the same again' And the Cuban sandwich. One of my favorite breweries (with food!) in the Dayton area. It was really friendly, felt comfortable despite being a full restaurant that day, and had some delicious beers to boot! Plus, parking is easy and the menu is decently expansive. Loved it here. PROS: -Fantastically friendly atmosphere. Between being welcomed by bartenders when we came into the super-friendly service we had from our waitress (in addition to the staff greeting me by name when I came back later because I had left something behind), Lock 27 felt super friendly and like a really welcome place to be. -As mentioned, service was fantastic. Our glasses were refilled, she answered all of our questions about their brews, and she popped in often! -Fantastic beer options. Lots of different choices; I was impressed! There were some really boozy ones as well as some less-boozy ones. They'll likely be a beer choice for whoever is in your party. Unique choices in addition to the regular "stand-bys" too. Makes it fun to visit and try their seasonals. -Good variety of seating. They don't have any plushy booths (that I remember seeing), but they do have regular tables and chairs as well as bench seating with tables. They also have some high top tables as well as bar seating. -Tons of awesome specials here. Depending on the day of the week that you come out, there will be a different food/beer special for you to choose from. Definitely keeps things fun - and makes you want to come back again and again. -They did a great job with noise moderation in the space. Even with a semi-full place, I could still hear the person at the table across from me. It didn't feel too crowded or packed, and even with a full house, it felt like a comfortable experience. Love that they managed it. -Private parking lot in a strip mall. Makes for really easy access as long as you have a DD. CONS: -We ordered some fries, and a plate of fries and three dipping sauces was brought out to our table. We were surprised to find that that plate of fries was $11 when the bill was dropped off. Ouch. -There's a large chalkboard behind the bar that lists all of the beer and info about the beers. As far as we could see, that was the only place to see their beer info. Especially for those who have sight issues or (in our case) when people are sitting at the bar and making parts of the beer menu "disappear" behind their bodies, having individually-written beer menus on all the tables would be a huge help. Plus, you could brag more about the beers and give us a more intimate-look since we're right here at the brewery! Stopped by Monday for a beer and snack. Bar tender was great and attentive, although appeared to be a bit understaffed. My complaint which unfortunately I did not really think about until afterwards, but we ordered the chicken nachos, but what we got was chips, lettuce, some tomato's, and a a cheese sauce, absolutely zero chicken. Am not a regular, do have stopped by now and then for lunch and was always very good. Feel cheated as paid full price, got chips. We visited on a Sunday evening around 6:30p. Near the entrance a sign indicates that you're welcome to seat yourself. Only a few tables were in use, so we had lots of options. We chose a corner towards the back in hopes of keeping our children out of everyone's way. Our waitress visited us almost immediately and brought drinks and took our order shortly after. I felt like the food was out in no time, which was much appreciated! We tried the poutine and the Reuben egg rolls (on their current list of specials). The poutine has some solid fries absolutely covered in meat, gravy and a handful of cheese curds. The gravy was super flavorful! The egg rolls (two huge egg rolls per order) had a ton of cheese! The melty-ness of the cheese provided the perfect texture balance to the crunch of the roll. And the the 1000 Island dipping sauce provided all the flavor (and a small kick of heat!).
