I'm over a decade overdue for this place but here I am. Lock & Key is a "speakeasy" if you can even call it that anymore since there's always a long line now. If you're an all girls group, you'll be moved to the front or an expedited line. If you're a nice, wholesome looking couple like my wife and I, maybe you'll be moved to the front too, but don't hold your breath. Anyway, once you're in, you gotta find the door amidst all these doorknobs. Spoiler alert, it's the very right door side. Once you're *really* in, you'll be in a small lounge and an even smaller outdoor patio with barely any room to maneuver or dance. Grab a strawberry mule or other alcoholic drink and enjoy the vibe. I hear their pizzas are good but I didn't order any. Regardless, Lock & Key is a fun diverse party group but it's quite packed on any given night so if you're a group with more than 1 guy, good luck getting in immediately. Besides that though, have fun!

Came here after dinner and honestly, it was pretty good. Music is great !! a lot of great music.. The service was great.

I had the most amazing time here celebrating a very special occasion and every time I come here, it always has the best vibes! For my most memorable visit, family and friends came together to celebrate my graduation. From the beginning of the night to the very end, the service was spectacular. We had bottle service with a couple tables and amazing help from all the employees, including security. The music was sensational from the get-go and there were no issues at all. We had good food, good drinks, and good conversations throughout the night. Parking was easy and it was definitely a night to remember! Each time I come here, it takes me back and I am so grateful to have met many great people at Lock & Key!

My response to them saying it's "closed" which I disagree as my item remains unaccounted for, footage did not capture the "return."

If I could give 0 stars I would. I went to lock and key for a girls night on May 23rd where security took my sandals because we have to wear heels which I understand. Security then allegedly gave my sandals to a male in our group that we were with knowing they were MY sandals. The male he "gave" them to did not have them. I brought this up to security before leaving the bar and answered me by laughing and then asked me how much the sandals cost, and stated that "$350 is nothing, that's what I make in one day working here," and joked that he could simply Zelle me the money. I have been in contact with them since May 24th, where they have "closed" this incident on their end even though they stated in the email response to me, "We also reviewed the available security footage. While the camera coverage does not extend beyond a certain point outside the venue, the footage does show the security guard walking from the front entrance in the direction of your group at the time in question. Unfortunately, the footage does not capture the final interaction due to the camera's limited coverage area." I don't understand how a business can close an incident when they don't have the footage to prove that the "sandals were return" in an area that their camera does not extend to. Per their email response stating, "He stated that when your group exited the venue, you initially walked away without the sandals. He called out for you guys then followed your group past the valet area and returned the sandals to the gentleman you were with. " The thing here is that the male he "returned" the sandals with left with two other females while me and my two female friends stayed and didn't leave the venue until around 1:30- 2 AM when they were closing so that is impossible for him to state that "I" initially walked away without the sandals because I did not leave or walk out at the same time as him. I have asked for appropriate actions to be taken and I would like reimbursement since security joked that he could Zelle me after the possession of my sandals were nowhere to be found and the camera location along with footage can not prove that my sandals were returned. I do not have possession of my sandals, therefore, the possession of them remains unknown and not found. I am asking for reimbursement to cover the cost of my sandals or the return of my sandals.

Such a fun speakeasy vibe! we went here for a preshow drink, and it was absolutely beautiful! The drinks were very well-made, and I would highly recommend the Lucid Dreams. The food was just okay, I wouldn't recommend the chicken lollipops, but the fried PB&J was out of this world! They also have sliced pizza next-door for midnight snack. How much do I LOVE that! I won't spoil the surprise, but there's definitely a lot going on. Pro Tip: if you're going on a weekend, make sure to go right when they open otherwise the line gets super long!

This place gets buuuuusy. I visited on a Friday night, and it was definitely a good time. There was a short line that moved pretty quickly. The music inside was really good, a mix of older and current hits. It was absolutely packed inside. There's just not that much space in general, especially the outside area. With the huge crowd that night, we were packed in like sardines, absolutely no room to dance at all. The drinks were solid, and the attached pizza store was genius.

The pizza is good. Came on a weekend afternoons and it was my first time seeing the place empty. It's always, I mean alwayssss poppin on a Thursday or Friday night. The djs are always playing fire music. However I will say as I get older and the crowds get bigger it's not as enjoyable as before. It's almost arm to arm, not good in case of emergency.

Got a free drink woohoo! Ambiance is sexy! It's a perfect size but I could imagine it being a pain when packed.

I'm gonna start by saying my first time here was thanks to the bouncer who was kind to let us in (and to do my boy a solid because he didn't have everything he needed). The place had good music and vibes. Bar staff were nice and didn't take long to help with orders/drinks. Had a great experience. It was a bit crowded outside but for someone who doesn't frequent bars / clubs, it lived up to the hype. Actually a bit surprised by the poor reviews down below because low-key, wouldn't mind coming through again for some nightlife fun.

Ok this WAS my spot. But I had never gone on a weekend night. I'm a designer who'd just left an event. I was fully dressed to the nines hair makeup ensemble personality . However I had swapped my heels out for for marching blinged out crocs. And the doorman tonight wouldn't let me in. I told him I wasn't coming for the club but because I missed the food. He said NO. A very stern one. He let young ladies go in ahead of us in dirty sneakers, jeans, tank tops, hats, etc.. and this is no slight to them, but I was "dressed up" and he did not let us in on a technicality, even though I was not coming for the club, and I made that clear. I just felt like I didn't deserve that. May 9, 2025 approx 10:45pm the doorman was unapologetically mean it was almost as if he was mad we came. The girls he let him were Asian and white, my friend and I were black. Just thought I'd mention that. The doorman was white-ish ....

The service was a 5/5 but I was alarmed that the men's restroom did not have a door for the toilet to separate from the urinals. There were two urinals right next to the toilet - this seems unacceptable as I have never seen anything like it even when traveling to developing countries. Guess they do not care about privacy and expect customers to not use the restroom. This makes me want to give it a 1/5 but the service and desert made up for it. The PB&J is only $12 is worth trying. It's a bit heavy but is tasty. I ordered the strawberry Mule and it was ok but didn't taste like a mule. There was food that looked really good but I didn't try - especially since there wasn't a restroom I could comfortably use. There is NO parking - valet is $22 so if you want to get free parking, then you will have to park at the Vons or Ralph's across the street.

He was friendly, welcoming, and gave us a great first impression. However, our experience afterward was disappointing. We waited nearly 20 minutes to be seated and another 20-30 minutes before anyone took our order. I understand that restaurants get busy, and we were trying to be patient because we could see the staff was overwhelmed. When we finally got our beer, I told our server, Noah, that I could pour it myself if that would help. Instead of explaining the situation politely, he responded with attitude and said, "You know I can't serve you guys, right?" I apologized, but then he told us, "Nah, you guys have to leave." This was frustrating after waiting so long just to place an order. We were never rude or disrespectful to the staff, so the interaction felt unprofessional and unnecessary. I completely understand being busy, but customer service should still be respectful. Unfortunately, this experience left a negative impression despite the great welcome we received from Nate.

We decided to get a drink to celebrate Father's Day, only to strike out at the first two bars we tried--I guess a lot of places are closed at 9:30 on a Sunday. This is how we ended up at Thunderbolt, a buzzy bar in Echo Park, just far enough away that we'd never made our way over. I loved it immediately. Thunderbolt has the friendly, comfortable atmosphere of a neighborhood bar and the hip aesthetic and high-level cocktails of a millennial boozer destination. (Not that young people can't or shouldn't hang out here, but it seems especially geared toward people like us, who drank at Walker Inn a decade ago.) We ended up sitting next to a guy who regularly drives up from Palos Verdes. I guess the place gets pretty busy, but it was ideal on a Sunday night. Happening but not crowded, with just enough space at the bar for us to grab two seats together. The bartender was great, super helpful and welcoming. He also made excellent drinks. Thunderbolt is one of those bars with an encyclopedic illustrated book for a menu. Not a long menu, just a detailed one, with a lot of information available about each drink. We got a Liquid Picnic and a Barcelonnette--just one round to close out the weekend. Both were delicious. The Liquid Picnic was a smooth, savory gin martini made with London dry gin, tomato, citron, vermouth, rosemary, and black pepper. I learned from the book that it used clarified tomato water. (There was also further reading about the clarification process.) The Barcelonnette was a mezcal sour with Suze, passionfruit, and lime, the foam made without egg white through some geeky mixologist process.
