I contacted a dealership and other locksmiths around my area and Lock Solutions was the lowest priced. A dealership quoted me $125 and other locksmiths quoted me as high as $200 to have a spare key cut and programmed. They were able to complete it in about 15 minutes. They sent somebody over (Chris) about 25 min later. He was extremely helpful and nice, even when he could not get my key code from the dealership and had to disassemble my car door to get it the old fashion way. I don't know if the young guy who helped me is the owner, but he was low-key and professional. In fact, young as he was, he reminded me of some old-school craftsman like a cobbler or a watchsmith. I was even impressed by the fact that when I showed up, he was working on something and only took time to greet me before returning to the task at hand and finishing it. I'd thought I needed both a key and a remote (for a used car). As it turned out, I could have gotten by with just the (cheaper) key, which he did not hesitate to tell me, but that only made me feel like it would be fairer to go ahead and buy the remote as well. He'd quoted me prices on the phone and not only charged exactly those, but verified himself that that was what he had told me. The prices by the way, with labor, were cheaper than the dealer's just for the two items. I still didn't like having to pay the price of a tablet PC for my duplicates (which have worked fine since), but that's modern technology, eh? As it happens, I ran into someone a few nights ago who'd locked himself out of his car. I did not hesitate to give him Lock Solutions' number. read more

I love this company! They are so responsive and honest! My husband's key broke off in our front door lock. He tried to get it out without success. I called Lock Solutions yesterday morning, described the problem, and figured I would need to replace the lock. They said someone would be out between 1-2pm. So I have to start by saying that I never write Yelp reviews, but it's worth it for these guys. I've somehow managed to lose my transponder key not once, but twice (don't ask because I don't even know I managed it), and Lock Solutions has taken care me of twice. Both times the guys who helped me out were super nice, on time if not early, and made sure to go above and beyond to fill out the paperwork I needed for my roadside refund, all in all making it as absolutely painless as possible. Best prices. Best service. Really just everything you could ever ask for in an auto locksmith. I have a 2007 VW Eos and have only 1 car key when I bought the car. A few months ago, the remote failed. Replacing the battery somehow made the remote malfunctioning. The alarm now goes off wherever now you hit the remote. So the key with a remote now becomes a manual key. I bought a brand key from internet and hope to program it but failed. So I stuck with a 2 bad keys for awhile. I bought the car and the keys to the shop. I met Benjamin at the shop. He was very kind. He called Rani who showed up very quickly. Rani cut the brand key. Very soon he found out the key I bought was not the right key for the car. So he found out some used part in his stock , replaced the PCB board inside and the key I bought from internet is now a working key. The PCB board in my original key was also broken he said but they don't have the part at that time. So I drove back to the shop the next day at the appointed time. After Rani replaced the PCB board, he still have a hard time programming it. He discovered that when one key was working the other key will lost his remote function. Finally he found a way to erase the memory stored in the car and reprogrammed the two keys. Now I finally have 2 working keys. From the experience, I can tell Rani is very knowledgeable in his lock business and is someone you can rely on when you have trouble with your locks. I highly recommended him and his team if you need help with locks. read more

I needed to fix a pals BMW X5 which had locked us out several times. When I called them, they asked me if I wanted to go to them or for them to come to me. I chose to go to them, but when my appointment arrived, I had an emergency electrical problem at my home. They called me when my appointment time passed, perhaps sensing a scheduling snafu. No problem they said, and they came to my address when I informed them of my home crisis. Chris the locksmith was proffesional and more importantly knowledgeable enough to give me several contingency plans and their cost before he accomplished what he said would be the solution. This guy fixed the doorlock clutch, soldered in a replacement battery in one FOB, and duplicated the two replacement key FOBs I had bought from ebay. These guys are tip top pros! The work van was completely organized and clean, and so was Chris. I wish my workshop which is much larger than his van, was as clean and orderly as that work van. Totally impressed and am scheduling them to replace the locks and ignition lock in my vintage Subaru Brat when the locks arrive from Australia. These guys take your problems away from you and accomplish the tasks as if and better than they could be done by oneself. Really is as good as it gets for a business encounter. I hope I dont need them again, but if I do, I am completely confident that I am in good hands should I need them in the future. Oh and the job was done for less than a dealer would ever even consider. Eternally grateful to these guys. read more

Excellent service! My daughter parked her 2012 Jetta at UCLA and lost her key. All the VW dealerships I reached out to said the same thing--they'd take 3-5 days, $300 in fees, plus I'd have to tow the car there to reprogram the key. I decided to get started with the list of Yelp recommendations; 15 calls later I was not able to find one single agency with the capacity to do a replacement key--biggest issue was that the car was an import and relatively new. Call # 16 got me Chris at Lock Solutions who was manning their 24-hour call line. It took seconds for him to confirm that they could do the job. He liaised with Rani who arrived at UCLA well ahead of our scheduled meeting time. Been meaning to write a review for Lock Solutions Inc. because I had a situation with buying a used car and needing an extra set of keys. Little did I know the keys for newer cars can be very expensive, with having a chip in the key and remote that has to be programmed. When I called the dealer for my make, model and year of car, they said I needed a chip for key plus remote and both would need to be program their, price $ 400.00 ( I should shame them but I won't because quote was on phone and I didn't get name of person I spoke to). Having just spent a great deal of money on my car I called another dealer than decided to try locksmiths here in Burbank. The cost quoted were all over the place, partly because quotes were based on whether or not my cars key HAD A CHIP OR NOT. After a few days I called Lock Solutions, Inc and was very impressed with the fact that they have a machine right on their counter that we can put our key in and it says if I have a chip or not. I was very impressed with the prices they quoted with and without a chip. Plus their price for the remote programmed was much cheaper. The drive to No. Hollywood was well worth it. no chip was in my key, I purchased 2 extra keys and a new programmed remote for $70.00 out the door. I was ecstatic.
