incredibly happy with the service my girlfriends key wouldn't turn in the ignition, we tried pulling the wheel, tapping the key, practicing a choreographed dance around the car but nothing would work. called joshua late afternoon and set up an appointment for the next day. he was able to fit me in earlier, had great communication before arriving to make sure he knew what he was getting into, and quoted me all the various prices depending on the issue. he arrived, worked on the car for 30 minutes, and was done. when i came out to pay he explained it was the ignition and he fixed that issue. on top of that he told me the key was getting dull and he gave us two new keys for free. he stuck to quoted price. really hope i don't have to call an automotive locksmith again but if i do i will be calling lock stop and key first. read more

The reason why I'm only giving him 1 Star is because he ended up charging me a whole different price than what we had discussed over the phone prior to arriving to our house. Also, towards the end of the transaction he charged me for spending two hours fixing my locks when he really only spent one full hour at most. During our first conversation we only discussed the price per lock and a fee for driving out to my house which was also included additionally in the final charge. The job was done correctly but did not appreciate the extra what I consider to be a hidden fee. At the end, it turned out to be too pricey. Won't be using his services again. read more

Our new front door handle did not fit our old handle measurements, so I called Lock Stop and Key for a proper installation. On the phone they asked what was the problem and I said it the new door handle set was about an inch longer than the pre-exiting hole. I asked for an estimate for their work. The fellow on the phone said it would be $59 for them to come out and about $150 for the installation. The awesome part was that they could be here within 40 minutes - that impressed me and figured the cost was doable. Repair man was here in 30 minutes - nice! and after looking over the door informed us that he would need to use filler to make it work - it would take 12 hours to dry and would need to come back to install. Not sure I wanted to compromise the integrity of the door decided to buy another door set instead. In wrapping up the deal, asked that I now owe him $59 for the visit. He said there was an inspection charge on top of the $59.- and it would cost another $15- a deal, he says. But I complain, I was not told about that! Insisting that is how it works - I paid him the $74 for showing up - beware -of those extra charges! read more
