I quit this gym when the Covid restrictions started, and recently came back. What a difference a couple of years makes. No more shower towels. No more smoothie bar. In fact, no more staff. The place is completely unstaffed, and filthy. The locker rooms stink. Half of the locker doors are broken. The equipment is held together by duct tape. But its great for the management because there is no one to complain to. No one is ever there. I am trying to quit again, but no one picks up their phone, and there is no voicemail. This is a gym in the late stages of sad decline, with non-existent customer service. Don't waste your time here. read more

I tried out this gym today and really liked it! They are offering FREE workout classes this week! They have new and great equipment for both cardio, weights, and free weights, including kettle balls and punching bag, fitness room for classes, clean locker/bathrooms, friendly staff, smoothie bar, free WiFi, and parking seemed great. First off: We think this is a great gym. We recently moved to Ferndale from California. We used a large , well equipped YMCA facility at our previous location. Locker Room is better by far. Friendly, efficient staff, the equipment is well maintained, an excellent selection of equipment, clean, well equipped locker room. And, for us this is a huge plus, a very cool kid's room! (We have three grand kids). We compared all the fitness places in town - Locker Room is head and shoulders above the rest. read more

With the ton of American reviews still to be posted, this one really stands out. This is the Yaletown back home, the yuppish gym in a quaint, cozy town. When I check the border traffic, I stay here, forces me to work off those calories from 5 meals a day lol. Love the handles on the dumbbells for better grip: square versus typical round. Not a huge gym, with about 15 cardio machines. Even smaller dressing rooms but bigger lockers. Don't need to ram all my gym bag, dress shoes, suit and all. Pretty reasonable, $27/month, or $17/mth on a one-year contract. Only one smoothie available, triple berry, yay. read more

Locker room fitness is a company that believes in body shaming woman who are body confident. I went into their establishment today after 6 months of being a member and they notified me I suddenly wasn't allowed to work out there because my fitness attire showed my mid drift. In the year 2020 they believe it is ok to tell woman how to dress because ITS THEIR COMPANY POLICY. A policy that promotes body shaming. read more

A newly updated (awesome brand new cardio equipment) gym with a great customer service mentality and many options for yoga, fitness classes, cross fit and whole healthful-ness. I like the single level, clean and open feel of the gym. My first impression was as a guest of a member. We worked out on the new ellipticals, and I really enjoyed their functionality and cleanliness. I also took a yoga class from a darling instructor, and got my butt kicked. The studio was open, had great daylight and wasn't too small. The instructor allowed her students to adapt and adjust freely to their own practice. Two things I think I'd like to see better? - A small orientation (even 30 seconds {"Bathrooms are there, towels here, throw your stuff in this area.."} etc. - Adaptation suggestions at the beginning of any instructional class. I really hurt my wrists in this yoga class, and also threw out my angsty ribs. Rather than halfway through the instruction mentioning "Those of you with wrist issues, I should've told you to grab weights." I like the idea of doing a quick lowdown of needs and wants prior to every class. Barre3 in Bellingham does that, and it's truly benefited me more than once. All in all, I hope to go back to this gym, and I like the atmosphere. Professional, kind, new, and with lots of options. Nice work, Ferndale! read more

My wife and I were up in Ferndale for a short stay and were looking for a place to work out for a few days. The staff immediately greeted us warmly and were extremely helpful getting us in. The layout is pleasing, aesthetically the gym is enjoyable, there are numerous amounts of classes offered, and Jake is a great guy. I spent a short stint in Ferndale and needed a gym during my stay, this place was recommended to me. I was pleasantly surprised at the facility, I never use the machines or cardio equipment, and the weight room had just about everything that I needed. My only gripes are that the width of bench was too narrow and I had to constantly adjust my grip so I don't smash my pinkies while re racking the bar. The other was there was only one Power Rack, so I was SOL for a while if someone else was occupying it. But other than that, the place was fantastic. It was clean, well kept, cleaning rags placed all around the gym so you could clean up after your sets. There was a sauna!!! I love saunas! It was a nice way to relax after a hard training session. I definitely plan on re joining whenever I take a trip up there. read more

This is a great small gym with 24 hr access clean facilities and great staff. The classes are killer with energetic teachers that guide you along. Even a beginner could participate without much difficulty (except the sore muscles the next day) read more

This gym is great people! The staff is friendly, encouraging and always present. The place is always clean and never too crowded. Prices are very reasonable. The new equipment is awesome, weights galore and a pretty good selection of cardio equipment. My only complaint is that there is only a single stair master machine, but that's seldom an issue. I've never taken any classes but everyone raves about Donalds classes so I'll have to check them out! read more

This gym nearly has it all. It could compete with gyms in many other cities, such as Gold's, Planet Fitness, others. They have made a LOT of progress over the last couple years. For instance, the Locker Room has just replaced about 98% of their old Cardio equipment; and they have added new equipment they never had before (TRX, Barre...). It's Fantastic! The brand new PreCor machines are smooth and have volume and channel buttons that work. You can plug in and watch news or cable, to distract you from your cardio, if you're like me. They have also made many more improvements, adding/ rearranging the weight machines, and organizing the group fitness class room. The only downside is that the gym needs to expand its footprint. I fear the gym is only going to get more crowded, with all these improvements. There is a perfect, large, empty gravel lot right next door. Building onto that lot would allow more members to get their best work out, inspire member retention, and provide more parking spaces. NW WA is growing rapidly and the Locker Room will have to keep up, or else add another location. Anyway, I applaud their efforts to reinvest in their business. Good work! read more

The Locker Room isn't anything out of the ordinary. It's your standard gym with machines, a small free weight section, and fun fitness classes. What makes the LR great is that they haven't become another 24 hour fitness by overpacking the facility, cramming 50 people into a small class, and trying to upsell training sessions at the front desk. The facility and locker rooms are clean - I always see one of the staff sweeping or wiping machines down when I come in. Keep in mind that I got right when they open at 4:30 so traffic is less and the employees are usually working. I have heard that in the afternoon/evening, the place is packed and the employees are more interested in maintaining their social lives than actually interacting and helping the members. read more

I used this gym a few times as an out of town guest. Great experience - new equipment, plenty spacious, friendly staff, plus they provide towels and showers. Nothing major seemed to be missing as far as weights or cardio equipment. The religious music they play (mornings at least) wouldn't be my first choice, but at least they intersperse it with rap and other genres. Overall a really good deal for $7. read more

The Locker Room 1859 Main Street, Ferndale, WA PH: 360-318-7506 Who would have thought that right here in the quaint little town of Ferndale that there would be top notch exercise classes with outrageously excellent instructors? I didn't, but I am soooooooo pleasantly surprised and consequently very motivated to exercise. I don't even like to refer to it as "exercise" as that makes it sound like a chore. Truly it is more like having a good time with some of the most energetic, highly competent, smiley, motivational, kind, helpful, (well, you get the picture) friendly gym gals and guys. Please understand that I do not use the word "excellent" lightly. I have been spoiled by some pretty fancy super expensive gyms like the Honolulu Club, some in Las Vegas and in San Francisco, so I know what I am talking about when I say "excellent". And The Locker Room instructors are excellent. What is also cool is that we only signed up about a month ago and already it's like being Norm on Cheers with so many of the staff already welcoming me by name. So let me just mention a few of them. Adorable Bre is like this forever sincerely happy dancer with all the right moves. Bre manages to inject that same come join me attitude in Body combat. Melissa is equally fun, energetic and such a warm person. Their love for dancing is infectious. Understandably, super enthusiastic Ben has a posse of I-want- to- dance- like- him followers in his Zumba class. Ditto for Celine who has that added Latino flare. Yoga instructors Jenn and Staci are the best. Their soft voices intuitively figure out which muscle you need to tighten or relax to make yourself into a well-balanced pretzel figure. I don't always feel motivated to go to a class at 7am but I am always glad that I did. All the people that I have come into contact with at The Locker Room have been over the top nice and competent so I will bet that the other instructors are also great. As for the gym itself, it is a modern and very clean environment. Signing in is as simple as a barcode swipe. And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that there are saunas. That was a big reason for signing up even before knowing about all the great classes. And speaking of signing up, super nice Manager Dane gave us a great $20 enrollment fee deal in September. Then it's only about $35 every month. All classes, equipment and use of little towels included. For parents they even have a place for the little kiddies to play while you get in shape. Of course, they have a huge assortment of gym equipment and some personal trainers which my husband promises to use soon. Evidently he has not yet figured out that in order to get fit one actually has to make use of The Locker Room facilities rather than just buy the membership. But hey, it's a good start. read more
