My friend was denied entry last night because the bouncer and manager were too uncultured and ignorant to understand that when people learn English as a secondary language they have an ACCENT. Apparently, drunk slurs sound exactly like an accent-you people make me SICK. I get you never went to college (obviously by your choice of career), but maybe you should work on some type of an education that exposes you to other cultures/languages-because by the way, those exist. Enjoy your sad dead end job-maybe someone higher up can get you a sensitivity training. Overall, my experience here could be summed up by saying that the bartenders expect you to be loud and have fun, but only on their terms and only if they remain the center of your attention. My friends and I went to Locker Room because we knew people wouldn't be offended or annoyed if we were loud and celebrating our friend's bachelorette party. However, when the bartenders figured out that we were more entertaining than they were, we were told to leave. The Redwings were playing in one of the last games of the series the night that we were there. One of the bartenders got a bunch of us up on the bar and we started chanting "Redwings!". He was trying to get us to switch and chant "JD's bar" (I guess he was JD?). When we continued to chant Redwings, and then switched to the Bride-To-Be's name, but wouldn't chant his name, he reached up to the TV behind him and turned the game off... as if we were kindergartners and that was going to get our attention. The Maid of Honor asked the DJ (literally asked, no profanities, no accusations, nothing rude) to put the game back on to which he responded "You and your party are not important" and he kicked us out. All 23 of us. All $3,000 we spent elsewhere that night. Again, I remind you, we were at a bar in a suburb of DETROIT called THE LOCKER ROOM and they wouldn't put the Wings Playoff Game on?! Really?! Because we were supposed to be boosting the bartender's ego by chanting his name instead?! I wasn't there to celebrate JD. I was there to have fun with my girls, some of whom wanted to watch the game. The website says "Just about anything that will get you kicked out somewhere else we encourage you to do here!". **Edited review** The only time I used to ever come to the Locker Room was on Friday or Saturday night. I didn't even know they offered food in the earlier hours of the day. I kind of wish they offered it throughout the evening but if you've ever been here when it's super packed on a weekend you know that food would be all over the place. a very unique, fun fun bar. i've never been to anything like it before. this bar is very interactive and not really for shy or quiet people because the bartenders will call you out and harass you if you are sitting or don't look like you are having fun. you get drumsticks when you arrive and they encourage you to stand on your seat or on the bar itself and make noise by banging on anything in site. the only thing you can't do is bang on the ceiling or lights. when i was there i was told you are in a battle with the other half of the bar and if you win certain battles you will get drink specials or free drinks. the battles can include; using drumsticks, yelling, singing, swearing or tipping your bartender. you can pay your bartender to shove whipped cream into the other bartenders face or even get someone into the dentist chair and get force-fed a shot and if it is someone's birthday they make sure they are thoroughly embarrassed by making them go up on stage and singing and dancing. the bartenders do really cool tricks and take requests. read more

Today was our first time here. The 1/3rd lb burgers were excellent. Fresh meat not frozen. Great shoestring seasoned fries and Cheese sticks. Had 6 drinks for the two of us and bill came in under $25.00 with tip. The place was really busy and service was a bit slow at the beginning, when they saw they were being slammed on a Thursday night, they called in some help and around 7 the service problems was solved. The most fun I have ever had at a bar. I was handed two drum sticks upon my arrival, and paid a dollar for a Miller Lite (ew.). The evening progressed from there, with trivia, a bar crawl, flame throwing, drink demonstrations, loud music, dancing, etc, etc. The only reason I remember the evening is because all the bar serves is Miller Lite or Bud Lite, as far as I could surmise. If 0 stars is possible thats what I would give this place. I downloaded the Yelp app with the specific purpose of giving this place the worst review possible. For which they deserve. My friend dropped his wallet and the bouncer claimed he was "slurring his words". I asked to speak the manager who only looked at my friend once just to agree with the bouncer without even speaking to my friend who ISNT FROM THIS COUNTRY so naturally slurred his words. These 20 year old bouncers were on some disgusting racial power trip and refused my friend from coming into the bar. This was literally one of the worst places I have been. The people inside, my god, it's like the residents of a trailer park all assembled in one room for a monthly Miller Lite fueled get together. I can't believe I set foot in here for a friend's birthday in the first place. The place smells and the bartenders cheat the pours, I only got a quick two count in my Ciroc and soda instead of a solid four, meaning that my drink was only a 1/2oz of liquor instead of the standard 1oz. I ordered shots for my friends and they were all mixers, the alcohol wasn't even detectable. The crowd here is bottom of the barrel, I would have more fun drinking alone and waxing my legs than going here and wanting to gouge my eyes out with bar spoons. Will not return. read more

I would give this place less than 1 star if i could. My gf and i went in to take advantage of the beer/pizza special... We order, 5mins later a regular walks in. So the bartender in charge gives his buddy our pizza when it was done. Im pretty irritated. So 5 minutes later i hear the bell, finally im gnna eat. There are plenty of haters of the locker room and I'm sure they have legitimate reasons to hate this place, however, every time I have been here I have had an amazing time. Locker Room Saloon is pretty much what your basement would look like in a frat house. A bar in the middle, an extremely small dance floor and tables and booth on either side. What makes the "Locker Room Experience" is being able to bang stick (available for free @ the venue) on almost anything on the table. The bartenders do a great job on pumping up the crowd and getting them involved in cheering and going rowdy. In order to get the above mentioned "Locker Room Experience", you MUST sit at the bar and come with an open mind and an eagerness to have fun. The bartenders will have you standing up on the table and chairs and taking out some rage with your sticks (no pun intended). I have also noticed that you can score a decent amount of free drinks from the bartenders and for a guy who loves saving a penny aka me, it is heaven. If I had to sum up a night at this place I would say "a frat house experience" **TIP: there is a $5 cover (I HATE THIS) and when you walk in the bouncer always say "go get your drink" or something along those lines and directs you to the bar right by the door and you assume the cover pays for the drink..IT DOES NOT..but they do make it seem like it..so beware !! Wasn't impressed as I thought I would be. Drum sticks are cool and the banging shenanigans but spending more than an hour or two ($20) is more than enough. If you go late enough the music selection goes down hill. Bartenders are cool at first but after two drinks I found their attitude to change to ass hole. I love this place. Whether you are with 'a' friend or a group of friends you are guaranteed a great time. It's not the type of place you just 'swing by'- plan to spend the whole night here. The staff is always friendly (they have 'tip wars' so bring a couple singles), the DJ is hilarious, the crowd is different and mixed every time I have been and the bartenders will make you superb drinks at low prices. I always seem to spend a lot more here than anywhere else, but that is my own fault-the drinks aren't expensive. I'd go and with this place, "the more the merrier". read more

The atmosphere when this place is in full swing is just too much for me any more. They have great food though. The pizza deal is unbeatable. They make their drinks super strong too. I have been here three different times in the last year and every experience was not satisfying. It's a fun atmosphere with horrible security and rules. The first time I came here they denied my friends entry after they had ONE DRINK at a previous bar and walked over (they live in downtown utica and were walking home) because they seemed drunk. They also cut off multiple people in our group. I am a server and have taken classes on when to cut people off and I would never in a million years had cut off the people they did. The second time I came last call was never announced. I went to the bar at 1:30 and was ignored for 10 minutes until I finally asked the bar back at 1:40 if I could get service and he said it was past last call... at 1:40? The last time I came here which was also my final straw was tonight when I tried going in at 1:15 and they said they're done letting people in. I would have had 45 minutes to hang out and they denied me entry. I don't understand how this bar gets any service considering they handle every situation with their clientele poorly. read more

Do not come here!!! The first time I came here, I had a blast and was excited to bring all my friends. However, I am a female and came here on a Friday night with a group of friends. One of my female friends had too much to drink and needed throw up. I accompanied my friend into the female bathroom. When we came out of the bathroom, the bouncer told us that we were both cut off! I understand my friend being cut off since she was the one drinking too much but they said they couldn't prove who was throwing up. Fine, whatever. Then the manager told our group we were more than welcome to stay as long as myself and my friend didn't drink anymore. I was very upset about the events because I wasn't drinking very much so I took a phone call in the bathroom for 10 minutes to complain about the situation. It was 30 degree weather and I didn't want to make the phone call outside. When I exited the bathroom, I was told by my group that we were being kicked out because they thought I was throwing up in the bathroom since I was in there for so long. I tried to prove that I was not sick in the bathroom by my call log, but the bouncer said he didn't care. He insisted that we need to leave despite our ride being about 10 minutes away and the manager telling us that we were more then welcome to stay. I had to fight for my right to stay in the warmth of the bar while waiting for our ride with the bouncer because he wanted our group to wait outside even though none of us had jackets. Just an overall horrible experience!!!! Apparently they do not encourage friends helping other friends because you'll be hold you accountable for their actions and YOUR NIGHT WILL BE RUINED. This is the bar for the 20 somethings who didn't join a frat or sorority in college. I went to this place 3-4 times a week when I first turned 21. I loved it there, but not for the music, but the community. If you saw someone in time with the servers and bartenders during one of the coordinated dances they show you how to do, you knew they were a part of your alcoholic family. Team Team! Incredibly rude staff working the door - never even went inside! I've heard about this place for years, and how much fun it is, but never had a chance to go. I decided to get a party bus for my birthday, and come here as one of our stops along the way. My friend called ahead 2 weeks early to let them know we were coming and would have a group of 23. They told us there would be no cover charge for our group. When we arrived, the bouncer was immediately rude and said we all had to pay. Upon speaking to someone else, we were told that we would not have to pay, as told previously. We all got off the bus together, to come in as a group. When we got to the door, we were rudely told to wait. We were forced to wait for almost 30 minutes, while the bouncer continued to let other people inside. When he finally asked for my ID to let me in, another person not with us, shoved her way through our group, pushing my friend. The bouncer turned to me and said we were not getting in. I immediately asked for a manager. Another 10 minutes went by before he decided to show up. He did nothing about my friend being pushed, and nothing about his awful bouncer, until my husband mentioned that he is also a manager. All of a sudden, the manager wanted to help us any way he could. By that point, we were done and didn't even want to spend our money there. I was on a Haloween road rally. One of the stops was this dumpy bar called the Locker Room Saloon. We had to get our picture taken in front of the bar and go inside to get one of the clues. (This was all pre-arranged with the bar as part of the road rally.) What wasn't pre-arranged, is that the manager wouldn't give us the clue until everyone in our group (even the driver) did a shot for $5 each! This was not the deal. The organizer of the road rally was pissed! I will never go back to this bar ever! Also, this was on a Saturday night and the bar was completely empty! I've been here a few times only because it does have a fun atmosphere. That is the only reason I gave two stars. Other than that, this place is ROBBING people! The first time I went there, I ordered a gin and tonic. Not an expensive drink. The bartender (known as "Shark") said $13.50. I couldn't believe it and he must have seen it on my face so he said "okay, is $10.50 better?" You think that would be a nice thing to do but why are the bartenders just making up prices? And how many people have been victimized and just paid the outrageous price? Anyway, we went there last night and for four drinks and ten shots (we bought a round to celebrate a friend) the bill was $125.00! Someone came up to us and told us to "watch out for shark he likes to add to your bill." He insisted it was all ours but then brought us a free shot to make amends or something. Went to the Locker Room last night with a bunch of friends on a party bus. We had some drinks and a good time, but when I went to the bathroom and came out I couldn't find anyone. A staff member came up to me and told me that the party bus had left. He and another staff member helped me get a hold of my friends, download the Uber app, order me an Uber, and then made sure I made it the car. They were helpful and friendly and really did me a favor. read more

We came here for my friend's birthday. As soon as we walked in the manager who was cauacasian with a beard would not let us in. We were a mixed colored crew. On a saturday night on the 10th of february. He claimed we were too intoxicated ( we had a few drinks but we were coherent and able to plead our case, had 2 beers). We tried to explain that we weren't too drunk. But I think his pride got in the way and ultimatelty did not let us in at all. Honestly I beleive race played a big role. I would've gave this bar four stars a while ago, but after my last few visits, I can only give it two. I went for the first time on a Thursday night and had so much fun. There was a decent amount of people because of the baseball game but not an overbearing amount. I went with my boyfriend and we had a blast. Bartenders are awesome! So for my last few visits- I went on a Saturday night, which yes, I expect it to be busy. I arrived at 9:30 and the bartenders remember me and are just the nicest people. It was kind of busy. When we went to look for a seat, every single table and seat at the bar was reserved. Which I understand reservation but to book the whole bar out?! You are a bar not a banquet hall. The bartender was nice enough to hook us up with a seat and promise to accommodate our other friends that were coming out. The bartenders were very good about getting our drinks but when it hit 10. We waited a half hour for our drinks, there was only two bartenders and three or four bar backs. The whole place was packed. Every time we'd asked for a drink the bartender would leave and do some things to pump the crowd up and we would not receive our drinks. I love that they are about having fun but it's hard to have fun when you are not having a drink in your hand. When my friends showed up, they made room for them. Which kind of would suck if you were the person sitting in the seats and told you had to move. It seemed like the cared more about making fun than providing service, there is a way to do both. There was also customers behind the bar which I mean for sure is fun, but also makes it even more unorganized. We decided to leave because we were not having fun. We asked for our tab, which we received after 20 minutes. My friends was charged for two drinks, when she only had one. So we told the bartender and he did reimburse her for.
