Entrace had good vibe and photo booth, though the table we got was in extended room with pretty basic chairs n sitting arrangement. I found the place pretty average. They served warm n soft bread which was was very nice, it was their valentine week so menu was pretty limited. I ordered pasta which was very basic and each dish was less in quantity for worth of those dollars. Since it was dinner with my fav friends, i still enjoyed the eve

Cranky waitress at the end of her shift. Happy hour menu not offered on the patio. Good selection of offerings. The calamari is very good. The Arancini is very good as well. Ordered way more than we needed to. My eyes were bigger than our appetite. But we have food left for later.

This was a great spot to hangout for valentines with a group of friends and their partners. Servers and the remaining staff were very accommodating even though we were running late. They had a special menu for the valentines weekend which seemed decent enough. I had the lobster bisque which was heaven.. the whitefish patella and the crispy chicken dish pollo di bacci was very nice too! The dessert however was just ok, had it not been a valentines special, atleast we would have more choices, so we have to go there back again just to try more choices.

What a classic spot that I totally forgot about. Stopped in with a friend who had been raving that Filippa's is so good, and she was right. We started with the steak tips, which came in a really nice sauce, which was a smidge salty but still good. Each entrée came with the option of soup or salad -- I went with the clam chowder and my friend chose the salad with Italian dressing. Both were good. I ordered the Rigatoni Alla Vodka with meatballs while my friend had the Pollo Di Bacci. Both dishes were amazing. Next time I might skip the meatballs, only because they weren't as flavor-packed as I hoped, but that might just be me. Of course, their bread was as terrific as ever. The service was second to none. Our waitress, Rhonda, was wonderful, and a few other staff members stopped by to check on us throughout dinner. Everyone was so genuine and truly wanted to make sure we had a great experience. The atmosphere was warm, clean, and comfortable -- the kind of place where you can wear jeans or dress up a bit. The crowd seemed to lean a little older, but I can't quite figure out why. The prices are fair, the food is good!

Dined on a Wednesday after lunch. Very few tables were occupied. Waitress was very pleasant and described the specials perfectly. The calamri was hot and tender. The clam chowder was thin and a but salty. The lobster bisque was absolutely delicious. Veal parmagiana was a bit tough, rigitoni pasta was very al dented and could have been cooked a bit longer. Pasta sauce was just ok. The Cannelloni was very good.

Haven't been here in years but the food still holds up. The drinks and soup were fantastic, but the steak bites with zip sauce were everything I remembered. So happy I got to dine in after so many years. I wish they shipped the sauce nationwide.

So disappointed in this place last night. I should have known by the empty parking lot but it was open until 10 and it was 8:30. Da Francesca's was closed sadly a vacation (good for them, sad for me). We were sat quickly as there were only two other parities on the restaurant so there was plenty of seating. We were greeted promptly by our server and she was friendly the whole night...but that was the only positive part of the experience. The bread was hard and stale, like it had been sitting out all day. I was told that the warmer was off because they close soon so that is all they had - even though the restaurant still had an hour before closing. It was not edible. We were never asked what we wanted to drink, so we were left sipping water the entire meal Then came the lasagna... if you can even call it that. It arrived soggy, swimming in a bowl of greasy liquid, topped with burnt, rubbery cheese. It looked unappetizing and tasted worse. Not a single bite felt fresh or properly prepared. I could have had better reheated microwave lasagna. This place was a total letdown. They tried to make is right by offering to remake the meal or to offer a free dessert but at that point I didn't want anything from the kitchen. I had high hopes for this long standing Italian restaurant --what I got instead was an overpriced disaster. I won't be back.

Food was so delicious. We sat at the bar. The restaurant was a bit packed on Christmas Eve. We only had appetizers. They were all great. But meatballs were my favorite. The service is first class. I will be back to have dinner here

Our carry-out order ended up costing significantly more than the prices listed on the restaurant's own website. When we brought this to the manager's attention, she initially denied any discrepancy, until we showed her the proof ourselves. Rather than taking responsibility or offering any kind of compensation, she simply remarked, 'Someone's getting fired,' and still charged us the higher in-store price. If you can't keep your website menu updated, that's not the customer's fault.

We tried Filippa's for the first time last night. We were first sat in the dining area which was dimly lit with a nice setting. Unfortunately, there was a large party and a wedding rehearsal dinner going on at the same time occupying the majority of the space. The noise level was so crazy high that we requested to be moved to the bar area. The bar area was less appealing but much quieter than the dining area was on this day. Our waitress was very polite and knowledgeable regarding the menu. We ordered Arancini as an appetizer and received a warm bread basket with a dipping oil. The bread basket was very fresh and delicious. The Arancini were delicious, but quite small for the menu price. I ordered the Pollo Di Bacci with a side salad. The salad was a standard side salad with ranch dressing that was delicious. The main course was also very good, my only complaint was the Bacci pasta was a little over cooked. My husband ordered the Parmigiana with a bowl of the beef barley soup. The soup was neither good nor bad, just generic. The main dish was beautiful and the red sauce was delicious, however, the chicken was very tough with a soggy bottom. Our waitress was quick to replace the meal and my husband chose to change to the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. This dish was just okay, the prosciutto was very over powering making the entire dish taste like bacon. I enjoyed my meal and return, while my husband has little interest.

The menu used to have a great variety of steakhouse items, it is now an Italian restaurant. Which isn't bad, but the original Filippa's menu was so good! We took my mother-in-law for late lunch the day before mother's day. We arrived Saturday at 3pm. We were asked if we had a reservation, we said no. Husband was told that we could be seated, but we only had 90min due to reservations. Had we not had my mother in law I would have walked out. That is so rude! There are ways to handle that situation without telling someone up front they are on a time limit. I doubt all of your seatings are arriving all together in 90 min. There were 3 tables currently sat. You weren't busy. Food was bland. The salmon itself was good, but the sauce made it. There was no real seasoning it flavor to the veggies, potatoes, or salmon. $28. Salmon was cooked properly, but just bland. Dessert was the best part. ‍

Well, I'll raise you 1.2 for 5 stars for Host!! Ample street parking on a Wednesday morning in Utica (also public on south side), hubby & I walked past a few businesses and into Host and immediately somehow felt we'd been elevated! The ambience is edgy and elegant giving off an elite vibe matched by the informative attentive staff and everything that was set before us. The barista approached us immediately taking our latte orders from a versatile coffee menu, and our lovely waitress Bailey didn't miss a beat welcoming us, fielding questions and sharing the restaurant's cool concept of "Host"-ing new chefs bimonthly representing freshly-curated menus of palate delights. She later informed us of classes held on 2nd floor for making cocktails and sushi! While enjoying our lovely lattes, we quickly ordered veggie omelets with mushroom and bacon additions that were timely served and clearly plated with care. My husband noticed there were no salt & pepper shakers anywhere, signifying the chef's confidence in his dishes! And indeed our meals needed no help, as we savored each bite of perfectly cooked omelets bursting with flavor complimented by crisp sliced potatoes dressed in a lemon drizzle. Easily the best omelet I've had in my hometown, probably in my state! I made sure to compliment the chef through the open pass-through kitchen on our way out after lingering after our meals not wanting to rush out of this lovely place. What a beautiful start to the day; we can't wait to return with more family!! Thank you for "Host"-ing us!!

Everything tasted super fresh and the menu leans more "snacky" in the best possible way -- perfect little plates that are clearly meant to pair with wine. We ordered a few things for the table and it felt like the kind of place where you just keep ordering one more thing because everything sounds good. Nothing heavy, just really well done bites that let the wine shine. Speaking of wine, the selection is awesome. It's not the usual predictable restaurant list. There are some really interesting bottles and styles on there, which makes it fun if you actually enjoy trying different wines instead of just defaulting to the same thing every time. Service was great too. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming, and you can tell the owners are really hands-on and working hard to make the place special. That always makes a difference. And the ambiance... chef's kiss. Moody lighting, cozy, stylish but not pretentious. Just good vibes all around. It's the kind of spot you want to linger at with friends and a second bottle of wine. Already planning my next visit :)

Our dinner started with easy to make reservations for four for a Friday night. Once arrived we were promptly seated and introductions made, Annie was our server(and more). I had note seen the menu in over a year so I personally was delighted to see plenty of ocean going features, specifically the grilled Octopus, shellfish and more. Before the food everyone agreed on a drink. Everyone tried something different than the others. Drinks included a Chocolate Martini, Limoncello(homemade) like grandma made it) Martini, Tanqueray and Tonic and Makers Mark Old fashioned for me. Everyone agreed the drinks were just right. Annie was then asked to bring out some Grilled Octopus. A HUGE and thick long leg was then served. DELICIOUS! Dinner was ordered with some questions(by me). I was intrigued by the Black Linguine. Basically a fruit de Mare or shellfish but with white wine. I asked for a subscription to a spicy red pasta sauce, not available. However, my friends wife chose this and said it was delicious. My friend and also my opted for the table side Carbonara. Basically a long sting pasta with a cheese wheel at the table. The cheese gets heated up and then scraped and put into the pasta. Our cheese scraper was entertaining and put on a nice show. For me, I decided on the Branzino, which was served whole but deboned at the table, with sauteed spinach. From the first bite, I was in heaven. We then had a second round of drinks, the girls switched things up and went for Cosmos, us guys repeated what we had earlier. Lastly, we just had to have dessert and were we glad we did. Both couple opted to share with one another. Our friends chose the Profiterole which they said was delicious. However, everyone loved our choice; Nicciola Mousse Tart. This is a MUST get. I can't even describe it other than I should have gotten one for the road. This place also had some soft entertainment, keyboard player. So glad we made the journey here. Highly recommend it!
