I am used to my appointments being 15-20 minutes long because they pride themselves on quick service. My boyfriend and I share a car and we had to go pick up his kids from school before my appointment and then I told them to just wait in the car because my appointment would only be 15 minutes. Easy peasy. Kids wouldn't get antsy or fight and we'd be home by 4:30 (my appointment was at 4). The morning of my appointment I got a call that my waxer was out for the day so I would be with someone else. Which is totally fine with me! Until it wasn't. I got to my appointment right on time, then was told I had to wait a few minutes. Which is fine because I usually have to wait about 3-5 minutes. 10 minutes goes by and my waxer finally came out to take me to the back. I've never seen her before at this location so I assumed she was newer, but I know they train well so I wasn't worried. Finally she starts my wax and it's all going well and she's chatting with me and making me feel comfortable, she is pulling my skin taught so it doesn't hurt and it's going really well! Then she kept going over the same spot, over and over again. Which I know is because she wanted to get all the hairs out, but I felt it getting later and later and I knew my boyfriend and his kids were waiting in the car and I just knew that they were getting antsy. Anyways, she did a great job, but I checked my phone at the end and it was 4:50!!! 4:50?! 40 minutes to do a Brazilian. I'm fine with having a new person, but I would've love to know she was going to take that long for my appointment! That was ridiculous!! And no one even seemed to apologize about it. When I finally was at checkout, I didn't even want to schedule again because 1. I didn't know if I'd want to come back to this location, even though it's the closest to my house and 2. I was now in a rush because my appointment was 35 minutes over what I thought it would be. We had someplace to be and now we were really late for it. I'm really disappointed in my service this past experience. Warn your customers if it's a newer waxer and if they take longer so they can plan better. You are in customer service after all! I won't be back at this location. Be better Mill Plain EWC.

My daughter got gel with French tips. However after only a few days they began to come off. I called and they said they had a 7 day guarantee and that we could come back and fix it for free. They were very friendly about it and did not make us feel uncomfortable. I really appreciated it. Apple, was my daughter's nail technician and she was so kind and professional. We ended up just getting regular gel nail polish. The front desk girls have great customer service. But some of the other workers there are very intimidating and just stare at you. On my most recent visit, I was hit with a $10 upcharge simply for filing my nails shorter, which has never been an issue before. When I questioned it, I was told the tech uses a "guide finger" to determine length, which wasn't what actually happened. It felt arbitrary and like nickel-and-diming rather than a clearly communicated service charge. I did try to have a conversation with the front desk, but the explanation didn't match the service I received. For the prices they already charge, these surprise add-ons are disappointing. I don't mind paying for quality -- but I do mind unclear pricing and being charged extra for basic maintenance I've always received. Sadly, because of this, I won't be returning.
