First time here & it was a good time with some delicious loaded up nachos. I sat at the bar & chatted with some daily regulars & the greatest bartender (they're words). Everyone was so nice & welcoming. The owner is also there putting in work & being a friendly face. I wouldn't hesitate to come back to socialize. I was surprised the nachos came with generous portions of ALL the side condiments without paying extra. The chicken nachos aren't piled high but they are wide so there are layers to it. I was able to get through half & I didn't find a bare chip anywhere. I was planning on getting an actual entrée but these were extremely filling. Loco perro is a great and cozy spot to stop for a drink and meal. The servers are very attentive and Bella took great care of us.

This is still one of most often frequented spots for Mexican food. Recently sat inside by the fireplace and enjoyed the atmosphere. You just about can't go wrong with one of their margaritas, and they always have a decent selection of beer. Our waiter did a great job staying on top of our drinks and got all our few special requests related to our dinner orders absolutely perfect. Still a huge fan of the fajitas! My husband never eats the veggies on his so that's a bonus take home for me. Still recommend this as a great spot during all seasons! read more

Just had dinner there, as an ex Texan and very familiar with Mexican food, I can honestly say that was the worst food I ever had! Hardly ate any of it, practically every single item in the nachos and burrito were from a can. The only thing that was good was the Modelo on tap! I haven't been to Loco Perro in a couple years, but as soon as you walk in there is immediate recognition with all of the dollar bills on the walls. Last time I was here (I believe in 2019), I ordered the margarita but this time I ordered the Cancun Iced Tea. Highly recommend, it is strong but very tasty and I ended up getting two! The service was great and the owner came over to say hello. I sat right near the fire in a premium location. Loco Perro gives you complimentary chips and two types of dips (mild and spicy). The steak quesadillas were FILLED which was a pleasant surprise. I will definitely be going back there!! read more

Once upon a time this place was just okay. Now it isn't even okay! What happened? Endless chips and salsa like every other "Mexican" restaurant except here you pay, and not just a token price!! Do they think it is loaded nachos? Oh wait, it's okay because for almost as much again you can get a small bowl guacamole with them which is okay, because it is endless right? NOPE not the guac, for that you pay by the tablespoon, and it is as much ground up green pepper as avocado so I would hardly call it guacamole :-( Again, once upon a time the food was okay and almost Mexican. Now it looks like bad Mexican food, but that is about as far as the resemblance goes. The food is bland and poorly prepared. The only plus is, unlike the appetizers, the entrées are not outrageously priced and are generous. So, if you are hungry and don't care what it looks or tastes like, this place could be okay for you. But if you are counting on Mexican or TexMex, go somewhere else. I used to come to Loco Pero once in a while because it was okay and almost like Mexican food. After this and my previous visit (apparently it wasn't just a bad day), I am done with this restaurant. Now the name of the place says it all. That is where is went. read more

What a neat place this is. Very authentic Mexican restaurant. Very nice bar and outdoor deck. The chicken burrito was very flavorful and the chicken literally melted in your mouth. The steak fajitas were cooked to order and were excellent. The vegetables were just barely cooked enough (I like them a bit overcooked and charred a bit). They weren't mushy-definitely not cooked with the cover on. The queso was average at best. The salsa was very good but contained overly large pieces of onion. You had to pay for the chips and salsa...at other places it's complimentary. The owner walked around saying hello to people, which was a nice touch. Will definitely be back. read more

Our consistent go to for date night . I always order the Cactus Steak , I prefer my Steak on the rare side and it's always cooked perfectly. Overpriced food and drinks . I had the super burrito which came with rice and beans and lacked flavor . I had to share the bowl of guacamole and sour cream with my dining partner which puzzled me . No individual plates for that ? Unsanitary and cheap ! Salsa and chips were 6 dollars . I understand if you want to charge for them but the food and drinks are already overpriced , so, really? How awful. How is this place in business? What is this food? Everything tasted like it was boiled. No seasonings. Soggy vegetables for the fajitas. Zucchini in... almost everything? No tomatoes in the guacamole that they forgot to give me chips with. I'm just so confused by this menu. Plain white rice at a Mexican restaurant? I've never asked for a full refund on a meal in my life but when all 3 of us agree, it's hard to argue with it. The manager claimed that he didn't know what I was talking about, and hadn't had people complain about this before, but after reading almost identical reviews here I'm not sure that's the case. Upon further inspection there is zucchini in my guacamole. I am floored. My family and I threw out our food and got McDonald's instead. read more

Pretty authentic Mexican food with generous portions. Our server was very attentive, refilling our chip basket several times, and keeping the water topped off. The food was tasty, and the rice & beans were generously portioned. The burrito and enchilada platter was very filling; though the chicken burrito has a bit too many onions and even zucchini (first burrito I had that had zucchini!). This restaurant is a local hang out with a rep for having great margaritas. The owner always greats his guests personally to assure you like your meal. It's not authentic Mexican, but it is really good. Some dishes are better than others. Try the fajitas or the skirt steak. The owner will add some super heat to your wings and plates if you want it! He dries and grinds his own Carolina Reapers. They took amazing precautions during COVID so that I felt quite safe dining in. I strongly encourage a visit!! read more

I grew up in East Hampton and we used to come to Loco Perro all the time, which I have fond memories of, so after probably a 10 year hiatus in visiting, I took my husband to eat there while we were driving by. I have to say it was such a bad experience we'll probably never go back. When I was a kid I knew nothing about Mexican food and I ordered the Jack's quesadilla (with bacon and cheese), so that was pretty hard to screw up. I returned as a vegetarian and found the menu to be very unfriendly towards vegetarians with very few potential options. Not only that but what I did order turned out to be terrible. I posted a picture of the ugly salad I was served with yellowing and rotting leaves - I couldn't believe someone had let that go out of the kitchen. The entree (which was a vegetable enchilada) was really bad - I felt guilty wasting it but I didn't want to eat it at the restaurant, took it home as leftovers, and ended up throwing the whole thing away. Sub-par Mexican and not vegan-friendly. I came here with my uncle and wasn't expecting anything great from the reviews. The overall experience was very mediocre at best. There's basically nothing on the menu that's vegan or can be made vegan. My uncle asked about the beans and the rice, but the server was totally stumped. First she thought they were vegan, but then she wasn't sure. It sounds like egg may be added into the rice and the beans are cooked in some sort of meat broth and may include bacon/beef. Even the rice may have had other non-vegan ingredients. The server had no clue and didn't offer to find out. She also had trouble with my uncle's order of a chicken option that was clearly marked on the menu. I settled for the chips and guacamole (the only apparent vegan option) with a drink. These were nothing special. My uncle was not thrilled either, but since this place is only a few blocks from his house, apparently he does come here on occasion and says it's OK. The overall ambiance was lacking. Lighting is dim and the place is sort of divey. I've had better Mexican and let me make it clear that if you're vegan, avoid this place at all costs. Some places make up for it with the drinks, but that's not even the case here. read more

I have been to Loco Perro a few times now as I always eat there when I am visiting family in East Hampton. The food has always been really good. It's very tasty and you get a large portion. I always have to take food home, which I like because I get two meals for the price of one. The atmosphere is fun and I love the signed dollar bills all over the ceiling (and I did leave one). They serve several types of craft beer (which I enjoyed) and they also have other types of drinks. This place has it all, good food, friendly staff (the owner even comes around to each table to chat and check up on his customers) and a fun atmosphere. Definitely worth trying! read more
