I used to be a customer of hers and I wanted to give my honest review without going into too much detail. TL;DR at the bottom [[HIGHLIGHT]]In the beginning of being her former client things went well. Good first impression and everything was great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Weird thing was that on the first appointment she asked about something regarding trans people which was off but I brushed it off. She was also late to the first appointment which was understandable because she forgot some of her child's things and things happen. Fast forward to other appointments, she was late a few more times and one time she was around 2 hours late and I was about to cancel but she arrived finally. She didn't give me a discount and I had to pay full price... Even with my very last appointment she wasn't finished with the other client and I had to wait again. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While I was getting my locs done, I told her how it would've been nice/cute if her son became a hairstylist just like her which caused her to go on a rant about gay men and trans women. Very strange to be honest.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]She also told me she doesn't feel comfortable being around gay men along with saying something along the lines of how she believes there's a genocide going on where there's less fully black children due to there being too many gay men.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then she asked me if I was uncomfortable with said gay men??[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]After that appointment she ghosted me for whatever reason, not exactly sure why.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's been months but I just wanted to put down this review to give my honest opinion. She has great knowledge and does an amazing job with doing locs, it's just unfortunate that she's homophobic and transphobic. TL;DR: MY experience with Lola began great, she wasn't on time with several appointments and she's homophobic and transphobic. If you're a gay man or a trans woman with locs, I don't recommend going to her. read more
