Hair service washing and flat iron a weave is very good. But because of your behaviour towards me,unkindness, very rude and insulting. could not wait to get the hell out! I will not be returning ... Their is a reason why you are not booked 4-6 weeks out and impossible to get an appt. I have read reviews about her attitude in 2018-2016, well made 2 appts. with her and 12/2023 is the last. She has a very bad temper and its scary! I felt very uncomfortable during my appt. my age is 65 years and not a child. Michelle has her small braiding salon inside a wig store which is good for the customers as it keeps her rate lower than other places. My boyfriend had been wanting to change his hairstyle but always thought it would take a big chunk of money out of his bank account. So I did some research for him and found this gem! He grew his hair out to the length of his nose and Michelle only charged $20 for braiding it. It was quite a steal! She is super experienced but I took off one star because she didn't tie it tight enough on one side so after a couple of days they got uneven. read more

As a hair stylist and salon owner I specialize in healthy hair and hair care but it's hard to find a stylist for myself to treat my hair and ends the way I do for my clients! lol I have gone all natural and was ready for a lenght check and ends cut and I found Mitchelle! I'm happy I went with my first mind and tried her out. She was very knowledgeable about hair care, porosity, moisture and most of all heat control!!! My hair may look thick and kinky but it is very soft and fragile. Which has gotten my hair burned out a lot in the past. She did not use to much heat, go over it to much and she was fast. Went to check this place out because I'm a new Mommy who was not willing to drive two hours to my girls shop again. I had an event coming up and needed my hair braided. Based on the reviews and the appearance I was open to trying this spot out. I called and asked if they did "Lemonade braids" to my surprise she was unfamiliar with the lingo bit h said that she can do it once I'd described what they were. "I was pleased when I got a fast appointment. On the day of my appointment when I entered the shop I was slightly taking back because it was under NEW management and had been remodeled. The shop also serves as a "beauty supply" that has all your braiding and or weaving necessities. The owner and hairdresser is michelle' she was a cool lady. I showed her a picture of what I would like and she again was confident that she can satisfy. She stated that she have been in the hair business for 20 plus years. "That was nice to here" We had GREAT conversations and she always asked if the room temperature was ok with me. She braided pretty fast, I was done within two hours. I will close with this, although Michelle was fast and courteous, she is not a Braider per say, her specialties are weaves. Had I fully understood that going in, I would of outed for another stylist or location. I believe she did her best. I am satisfied BUT not wow'd. I would of prefer more hair to add body and fullness, especially with my face. $75.00 was the damage. Next time I will invest in a stylist who actually specializes in braiding, cornrows and designs. if you're looking for a blow out, trim & press and weave check her out, show her some support and welcome her to the neighborhood. read more

After a "stylist" in Oakland permed my hair out and I had bald spots and patches, I ditched the creamy crack (relaxers) and went natural. Michelle came highly recommended. This is a pretty late review. I went in earlier this month for a wash, trim, and press and curl. I am beyond satisfied with her work. She's very gentle and educated when it comes to hair. Michelle damaged my daughter's hair with a comb that was too hot for her texture (while relaxing it without my permission). It fell out in clumps. There is no way the previous reviewers are actual customers. I'm guessing they're all family members. I'm still trying to figure out how this lady has her own shop and repeat customers. I started going to Hair By Michelle almost 2 years ago after I decided that I wanted to focus on getting my hair healthy. I am not a big fan of going to hair salons because I absolutely hate being there all day and that has been my experience in the past. But since I have decided to go natural it has become impossible for me to do much with my hair myself. Anyway, I was lured to her shop in the first place because of all the reviews I read about how in addition to being a great hairstylist, she actually has knowledge in hair care and that is an important aspect of her business. Here are the pros of her business: She is a very nice woman and I always enjoy talking with her during my visits; she definitely knows hair care and will give you tips on how to best manage your hair; she is an expert with straightening natural hair (my hair always feels as silky as it would with a perm, but it definitely has more body because I no longer use those harsh chemicals); she is always on time, I have never had to wait more than a few minutes of my scheduled appointment, if even that; she also knows how to do flawless sew-ins; and she sells quality double drawn hair which means it is much thicker than most others that are on the market. I will continue to go to her for both "press n curls" & "full sew-ins." read more

I had a good experience at this salon. I'm happy to find a nice salon that is affordable and has good time management. I booked an appointment with Yoshi using the super easy online booking app. I arrived 2 minutes before by 12 noon appointment and went right to Yoshi's chair. She was extremely friendly and welcoming which is always a plus when trying a new salon. After a quick consultation, she thoroughly washed my hair and applied an scalp treatment. She used very good products that left my scalp tingling and feeling good. Yoshi was very gentle with blowing drying and pressing my hair. I could have fell asleep! I asked for soft beach waves and she delivered. I really love how my hair came out and love the fact it didn't set me back over $100 bucks and most importantly I was in and out in under 2 hours!! I have had 2 really bad experiences with weave in the past including today when I walked in with a very bulky and busted looking mess of a weave that I had don't by a friend in my hometown...needless to say "you get what you pay for" and what I got was a big mess for $50! So thank God Michelle was able to take me today and turn my hair around, she broke it down, washed and re-braided my hair and was even even able to use the hair that I came in with!
