Honest. Up-front and accurate diagnosis. We had been told by 2 other shops we would need an entire transmission replacement to the to on of $3000! My insurance agent reccomended Lodi Transmissions and so I called. So polite, so kind was Jeannie who is the owner's wife. She listened and transferred me to Larry, owner, who gave me the truth that he would not be able to accurately diagnose without seeing it. We had it towed and the news was that it was a part on the tranny, not the entire tranny. Bottom line is that it cost less thn half of the previously stated amount. They are just great people! I live out of town and my mother had some transmission issues(she lives in Lodi) so I did a search on Yelp and found 3 businesses with good reviews, 2 of them wanted to charge a minimum of $90 an hour to check out her car, and Lodi Transmissions did it for free. After giving her a ride back home, and picked her up to bring her back to her car, did a thorough inspection of her car, found nothing wrong, and did all of this for no charge. And the most important, did not take advantage of an older lady. So this is a very trustworthy place to bring your car. read more

I found this shop to be very honest w/me up front. These repairs they specialize in are big ticket & the public is really at their mercy. Ron quoted me up to $1800 for rear end pinion bearings on my Dodge Durango depending if they found metal shavings in the differential. Bill came to $741including a brake light bulb replacement. They get busy & my downtime was maybe a week. But hey I got more time than money, I live nearby & they shuttled me home. SO GRATEFUL FOR NOT BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF! I brought in my recently purchased 55 olds 88 to have her checked out. We were greeted immediately by staff. Ron explained their procedure to test drive the car then give us his assessment. During the test drive Ron explained how older transmissions should shift. At the end of the test drive he put the car on the lift and did a visual check. Finally he said the transmission was fine. We asked how much we owed him. Ron said transmission checks were part of his service., no charge. We were blown away, who even does that anymore? We instead schedule a routine service anyways. He found the right parts for our 55 olds and we are waiting to get her the TLC she deserves. Professional nice guys at Lodi Trans. 5 stars! would give them 10 if we could. read more

I came into this place about two weeks ago and I spoke to Ron who I believe is the owner and he was very friendly and was able to set me up with a day so that I could drop off my Firehawk in order to look at the clutch and also replace my valve cover gaskets which were leaking oil. 2 weeks later, I brought in my Firehawk and honestly I didn't think that they were going to look at it the same day, to my surprise though they did and I got a call in the afternoon that same day from Ron and he explained to me that my clutch was okay and that the noise that I've encountered is normal from the throwout bearing and also he mentioned how my other fluids were good and also that they can take care of the valve cover gaskets. I was very impressed with how they took a lot of care and consideration with my vehicle especially with checking things that I didn't even expect them to check and I was pleasantly surprised. 2 days went by and I received a call from Ron while I was working and he told me in a voicemail that my Firehawk was ready and to go ahead and stop by to pick it up. I came by later on after I got off from work just before they closed and when Ron went over my invoice with me I was pleasantly surprised again when he explained to me how they found another issue with my Firehawk which was the PCV hose and how it was cracked and how he went out of his way to call around and actually try to find the correct OEM one for it which really shows me the attention to detail that Ron and Lodi Transmission have and the care and consideration that they put into their repairs for their customers vehicles. Ron explained to me that they went ahead and replaced the cracked hose with a straighter one that was much stronger and he went ahead and gave me back my original one which I really appreciated Ron and Lodi Transmission showing me that individual care and consideration. It means alot. My Firehawk runs even better than it did when I first brought it in. I'll definitely be coming here more often. Thank you again Ron and Lodi Transmission. read more

Car broke down on a Saturday. They diagnosed it as a wiring problem very quickly. Had me back up and running on Monday. Pricing was very reasonable and a lot less than I was expecting to pay. They also took the time to look around at some other problems the car has and gave me estimates on fixing those (Motor mounts, Oil leaks, Belts and hoses). A very helpful and courteous team! These guys are great! Had to have my daughters car towed here late at night and even though it wasn't a transmission issue they took a look at it and told me what they thought was wrong with it. They then let me keep it their for three days until it could be towed some place else. All at no charge. I would defiantly recommend them, they made me feel like there is still some honest people.
