Had a blast renting Polaris 4 seat ATV. We arrived with our ATV in immaculate condition and the staff waiting for us. Anita was incredibly patient with us and answered all of my questions. Chad walked us through the vehicle, made sure our kids had helmets and provided us with a map and instructions for our adventure. I booked five snowmobiles for an unguided full-day experience with Lofty Peaks Adventures and the service was exceptional. I called a month in advance and spoke with Britton (one of the owners) and he answered all my questions and made recommendations for our group. When we arrived, we received a warm welcome, an excellent overview of the trails, and were provided with really great equipment (e.g., high-quality boots, suits, helmets, and goggles). Once we arrived at the trailhead, we were given a helpful orientation and then set off on a full-day adventure. One of our riders had mechanical issues with his sled which negatively impacted his riding experience. When I told Britton about it, he was super generous and wanted to make things right for our group. He went above and beyond to make our group feel valued and for that, we are extremely grateful. Me and some friends did the guided two hour tour and had a blast!! Started at the bottom and worked our way to the top with Jacob our (really good looking) guide who was awesome!!! He trained us on bikes and gave us tips and warnings to keep us safe and ease nerves so that made the experience even better!! We saw wonderful scenery learned about some of the area history and had a great time!! If you are in the Salt Lake area or Park City or Midway area you should definitely check them out!! We rented 3 ATV's for the day, the whole crew was great and the ATV's were a ton of fun.

Six of us went on a 2 hour snow mobile tour with Lofty Peaks. They have plenty of snow suits, boots, etc. to rent if you don't have the correct clothing. The weather was snowy / rainy so not ideal but we still enjoyed riding on the trails and the open areas. It was a beautiful area. Everyone enjoyed themselves. read more

We tried Lofty Peaks out for their ATV tours, opting for a 2 hour guided tour. In Utah, you have to be 16 and have a driving license, so we rented two dual ATVs, and took our kids on the back. A great way to see the Uintas. Don't know if we would go back for ATVs, but might consider trying them out for snow mobiling. POSITIVES: - Our guide, Jacob, was fantastic. A very thoughtful and interesting young man who made sure we had a great time. - Location is great, right next to the trails so you aren't spending 15 minutes riding on roads to get to the trails (like you do with some of the other shops in the area). NEGATIVES: - Equipment was not in the best of shape. In fact, our guide's ATV broke down in the first 30 minutes, and we had to wait around 30 minutes for a replacement to be ridden up to us. They didn't count this against our time, but it was still a hassle. Owner needs to spend more on maintenance and updating his equipment! read more

A great experience for first time snowmobilers! My family and I went and enjoyed ourselves. Great scenery (of course) and a fun segment where you really get to to play with the machine. tips: 1. Go with Seth. He is awesome. Great in a jam- like a stuck snowmobile. He also gave my wife hand warmers as she was freezing 2. Dress warm and dry. You are out for a while and it gets cold fast 3. Be prepared to be in the snow- dry and warm hands and feet make a big deal (esp if you are from LA and don't know your way in the snow like my wife) read more

Fantastic trip - highly recommend. I did my research of all the places in the area and I went with them b/c they were great over the phone as well as took us to a great location. We are a family of 5 and all of us had a great time. Chad was an awesome guide and was very patient with me being a bit a nervous first time snow mobiler. The folks here are absolutely wonderful... I will definitely be headed here again! The rentals for a ski suit, gloves, helmet, and boots is only $15 per person - seriously an unbeatable price! Also, the pickup from our hotel was on-time and easy...each staff member we met (from the person who drove us to the staff at the office and even our guide) was top-notch. Shannon and Kevin...you guys rock! All staff had great attitudes, were super helpful, happy to be there, knowledgeable, and kind. The trail experience was amazing - for our first time...easy, fun, & the perfect amount of time (2hours & 15 miles each way)...with more than enough time for us to "play" in the meadow on our own. Can't wait to come back when it isn't snowing so that we can go through WasatchStatePark on foot & see what its like then. Do anything with these folks and you won't regret! read more

We rented a RZR for a couple hours at the trailhead and had a wonderful time. The machine ran fine and the trails we road, based on recommendations from the proprietor, were as-expected. The #1 access road trail was gravelly and wide and then the #3 trail by the Deer Creak campground was tight, rocky, water-crossings, and fun!! We took some side trails as well, but they were not as good as #3. The views of the mountains and valleys were well worth the ride! I would definitely ride again and use Lofty for the rental agency. read more

We had a blast today. Four adults rented one two man razor and one two man quad. We rode for two hours, saw amazing scenery and got really dirty! Perfect even for beginners. We were with one of the groups from Entrata Summit from Stein Erikson and were the first group to go out on the ATVs and I cannot say enough good things about the team at Lofty Peaks, the guys were professional and most of all fun! We had two guides and they made sure we were taken care of the entire trip, even took us to some great scenic viewpoints that were epic!! Our driver Sean was amazing, we had the best conversations and he tolerated all of our crazy questioning too!! Such good sports-all of them!! The ATV tour was gorgeous. All I kept thinking the whole time was Ricky Bobby saying "I wanna go fast" and if you ain't first, you're last! This was the most disappointing trip from beginning to end. Please understand, I'm writing this to protect the health and safety of anyone using this company. It started with over 30-35 people all crammed together in their office, many with no masks, all crossing over each other trying on various outfits for the day. The best could say about the company's COVID protocols is that the employees wore masks. Otherwise it was chaos, that could have been addressed with simple instructions to come in a few at a time to sign waivers and try on snowmobile outfits. I bought my parents this as a Christmas gift, thinking that COVID risk would be minimal in an outdoor adventure. I was truly disappointed at the chaos of the morning and would not allow my family or parents to go inside because if that. The next thing to go wrong is that they sent me to the wrong starting point. They did, however, call me to tell me this and to give me verbal instructions on where to go instead. OK, simple mistake, shouldn't ruin the day. Our guide was Elliot. He did have a nice demeanor and we didn't feel at risk with him... until we got out on the mountain. We asked for simple trails with a guide to enjoy the ride, as this was the first time riding for us. I know he wanted to show my family a great time, but his choices were horrible. He eventually took us through deep powder, and the machines we rode instantly tipped over numerous times. Hey that's snowmobiling right? But where was Eliiot to help turn these 600 pound machines back over, or turn them around in deep powder? Off perhaps a half mile away. I can say with confidence that it was a RARE occasion for him to look back to make sure all were safe. This would be enough to make the day challenging. We discussed with him about staying on groomed trails for the rest of the day. He said he would do this, but we needed to be willing to cross a road to get back to our cars. Well, we already had a tough time in the deep powder, so of course, if we can stay on groomed trails, we'll cross a "road." Will it ruin the skis? we ask. He tells us they replace the parts all the time, no problem. We follow him on a long winding groomed trail for the last hour, until we get to the 4 LANE, 65 MPH HIGHWAY he asks my inexperienced family to ride across. We do this THE FIRST TIME successfully, with a bit of stress, but we made it. What does he do then? He takes us for another 45 minutes through deep powder with NO TRAILS. He is the one making the "trail" for my family too follow in deep snow. We overturned several times, one time, my over 70 mother landed on her leg wrong with the machine on top of her. Scary moment. Where is Elliot? Off a half mile or more and finally finding his way back to help us overturn the machine, yet again. This is NOT the end. We drive through moderately deep snow through a field, following his new tracks, not the groomed trail in any way and end up AGAIN at the 4 LANE 65mph HIGHWAY. We are now at the bottom of a steep hill leading up to the highway. We all stop determine how we will climb the steep hill fast enough to get up, then instantly stop as to not run out into fast oncoming traffic. Elliot takes his machine up first and successfully. We had to ask him to take the next of our machines up the same way... He does the next, then stops at the top of the hill, ON THE HIGWAY, and motions for my dad to rev up and come up the hill. I am shocked. My dad, being the nice guy he is, points up to him with a "?" and Elliot motions for my dad to come up. My dad, not knowing any better, revs it up as I am screaming for him to let the "guide" Elliot do it. What happens? My dad overshoots the hill and ends up in oncoming 65mph traffic and almost gets hit by both a small red sedan and a huge black truck. Elliot is horrible. We start crying, yelling and and thanking God that my father was missed by inches. I demanded that Elliot go get a car to bring us to our own cars. He rides off to get his truck while as a family we weep at the close call of loosing my father today. Do not go with Elliot, and even make sure you want to use this company for your family. read more

Had intentions of going into the Wasatch but Chad was so on point telling us it was going to be crowded because it was Saturday. He suggested the Uintas instead and we had an epic half-day trip (8:30a-12:30p). Yes you have to do some street driving to get off road but that time is well spent once you get on to the forest service roads. Great education about the machines and safety. The directions were 100% accurate and they have a great big map on the wall that you can take a picture of to reference later as well. The Polaris General performed well at all speeds. We took a four seater and two seater out so we could switch off driving. Can't wait to come back and explore more. read more

We have a house locally in Midway, and wanted to explore some off trails spots. We had the best service and adventure advice from Jacob. He really went above and beyond to make sure that we were headed to a place that fit our goals for the day. We wanted great views and a lake we could swim and fly fish in. He had several choices for us. Once we chose, he drew us a map, and we were on the way. Fair pricing and no upselling, just exactly what they promised. We did the combination snowmobile and tubing package in January 2015. From the moment we were picked up, we were not only met with a smile but a bit of a history lesson from someone who was passionate about the area. From history to the snowfall statistics, where to get fresh milk to the second highest peak in Utah, Brenton kept us smiling and entertained. He cared. Once checked in, Chad took us on our snowmobile adventure. Up the mountain we went. On a few occasions others got stuck and Chad personally dug them out without as much as a frown. We were always safe and happy and in awe of the landscape around- lofty peaks is right. We got to open up the snowmobiles to about 45 mph in an open valley which was exhilarating. During the trip my wife even lost her phone and they found it two days later and miraculously it still worked and they sent it to us. You will have a great time, see things that are pretty inspiring and be surrounded by people who genuinely care- it's hard to say which is the best part. Thanks guys. read more

After skiing in Salt Lake for four days, we were getting a little tired of the slopes and wanted to try something different. A quick Internet search led us to this place, which is a little bit east of Park City. It was pretty much the same drive as to the Park City ski areas (Canyons, Park city, etc.). After winding our way through a residential neighborhood in golf course, we found the sign-up area. We had reservations for 1 PM, but since we'd arrived a little bit early they were happy to take us out early. Signing up was super easy, and they provided us with boots and helmet. We brought our own ski gloves and goggles, which I would recommend. Amazingly, they didn't even charge us until afterwards. The snowmobile ride itself was pretty amazing. We spent the first few minutes just getting to understand the machines. I had never been on a snowmobile before, but it was super easy to learn. It's pretty much all throttle (as Daniel Tosh would describe a jet ski). Once we got comfortable, the guide took our group of three up a pretty steep road to some mountaintop meadows with some fresh untracked snow. Once in the meadows, the guide pretty much gave us free reign to cut loose and go as fast as we wanted. We pretty quickly learned that you could go really fast and were pretty much only limited by the speed at which your ass left the seat of the snowmobile. Riding through the deep untracked snow was super fun. After spending a few minutes in some of the meadows, the guide continued to take us around some of the more narrow trails. There were some tremendous views, and it was really a sight to behold. Once we'd spent about an hour and a half on the mountain, we started to make our way back, which was also fun, but to be honest these machines are little bit more fun to take on slightly uphill and flat terrain. Overall, this was one of the most fun expenses of my trip. Additionally, the two-hour ride only cost minimally more than a day worth of lift ticket and ski rentals. After 3 days of skiing in Park City, we decided to take a break and go snowmobiling. We looked at several tourist brochures and their websites. We picked Lofty Peaks because they offered a snow tubing combo package (we were already planning to go tubing). The staff is friendly and professional and our guide was amazing. He took us to some great places where we could "play" and a couple of amazing lookout points. The snowmobiles ran great and had heaters for both the hands and feet. All-in-all we had an amazing time and would recommend this company to anyone. They are kid friendly and offer a military discount. read more

Group of three went on the two hour snowmobile guided tour up the mountain. The views were spectacular, and cannot be beat. Our tour guide Brenden was fun, exciting and knowledgeable of the machines and trails. We got the full experience of trails up the mountain, open meadow riding and back trails. I took one star off because they shorted us a half hour. One of the groups did not arrive on time and we left 15 minutes after our start time, we also were brought back to camp 15 minutes early. However, after all I recommend this place for snowmobiling! read more

I would highly recommend Lofty Peaks Snowmobile tours as your go to Snowmobile provider in the Park City Area. Our group's interaction with the staff was outstanding. From the initial telephone call with Jhannel to reserve our reservation and subsequent emails to prepare required paperwork and change Date (early season conditions) she was friendly, knowledgeable and informative. When we arrived at the office, we were greeted by Jhannel and office manager Brinton to finalize paperwork and secure needed apparel for members of our group. Upon arrival at the trailhead, we were met by Takoda our guide. He provided simple descriptive and visual instruction on the operation of our snow mobiles. Once riding we stopped a limited number of times for scenic views and to photograph moose. Once our ride was completed, we were able to change at the trailhead in a trailer they provided and had no need to return to the office. The views were breathtaking, and Chad led us on a challenging ride (his words) after he determined we would take direction and were capable. We did run out of gas so our only suggestion would be to make sure there is enough gas in the machines for the entire trip.
