Just awful. I can't stand restaurants where everything is sticky and the floor is like a skating rink. I didn't have much choice since most restaurants are closed on Sunday night in this town. I had only a dessert, their peach bread pudding with ice cream and foster sauce. It was very good. One dinner companion had a chef salad which was basically iceberg lettuce but he said the tomatoes and smoked ham on it were especially good. The other person had a shrimp po'boy. We went with a party of 5 (2 children). We were seated at a table for 4 with a chair in the walk way. We were okay with it until we saw the size of the plates and realized we weren't going to have enough room for everyone to eat comfortably. As the waitress was bring6out our drinks, we requested a larger table for that reason and our waitress gave us one. Unfortunately she didnt know I the table she gave us was reserved. The party it was reserved for was not there. So we asked to have the table where we were originally and add the vacant table that was near it... the Manager came up, made us leave our drinks and go back to the front. There was no one waiting and there were still quite a few empty tables. When I asked again for those 2 tables, and she told us we would have to wait 30 minutes in order to he seated. We elected to leave as we could not understand how a restaurant with NO WAITING would make us wait 30 minutes to put two vacant tables together to accommodate us. I feel disgusted, disrespected and I am pretty sure I will not be returning if that's the level of service I can expect there from the management at one of our local businesses! read more

Have visited here a few times since moving back to north Louisiana. Service is attentive and fast but always feels more rushed than I would prefer. Food is mediocre. Burger was warm not hot, onions and peppers were not fully grilled and closer to raw than cooked. I was expecting a nice caramelized topping of them. The fries were room temp and soggy. I also don't understand why they don't wrap a knife with the silverware packet. Huge complaint for me was asking for mayo and mustard and getting packets that I had to open up and then put on my burger. The BBQ dip has always been a fave of mine, but it used to be served in a hot bowl with the cheese melted over the edges. It now comes in a boat dish but was not piping hot. Huge chip basket served with the dip, but the chips were clumped together, some stale, some greasy and just hard to pick through. Overall, I think because it is such a high volume of customers, the food is not as carefully prepared as it used to be back in the early 2000's like I remember. There is no heart in the dishes that come out. Very commercialized now. Even the inside just feels less cheery with the gray interior and dark feel. 3 stars because the cheerful servers have always made up for the quality of food. read more

Traveling down I-20 headed home, my wife and I decided Ruston was a good stopping point. After checking into the hotel we asked the young lady where a good restaurant was. She asked if we wanted chain or local. When we said local she immediately told us her favorite place was the Log Cabin Grill. It was extremely close to where we were staying so we said ok then, we will try it. It was almost 8:30 and they closed at 9:00 (later on Friday and Saturday) but they were very welcoming. Our server Mykle was a pleasant young lady who was very nice. We started with the fried green beans and they were delicious. I enjoyed the smothered steak and loaded spud which was really good. My wife had the chicken fried chicken (huge portion) and it's only downfall was the batter was extremely salty. For some reason our food took a while to come out and without us saying a word they took $5.00 off the bill. That to me is great customer service. If you're traveling down I-20 make the stop. I'm in Ruston a lot on business and needed a new place to eat. So I just started driving and stumbled upon this place. My meal was very good. What makes this place is the grill. You can smell the wood as soon as you walk in. I ordered the ribeye and grilled vegetables. The steak was very good and cooked exactly to order, not an easy task. I would not recommend the grilled vegetables. They were kind of a mess. The salad was good. Great wait staff. Oh forgot about the wine list. It is excellent and very well priced. When you look at the actually restaurant it just looks like a regular cabin. When you walk in you can say it's pretty impressive..so is the menu. I ordered a burger and a baked potato like usual. The burger was perfect but the only thing I don't like is when you order the baked potato, they give you nothing on it so your forced to ask for something on it.
