We also appreciate the grill spots -- we saw previous complaints about the grills -- honestly, we don't quite understand why they are being so picky with the public grill spots lol... I can tell they have tried their best to manage/clean. A/C works well, especially at night! Not much noise created. All the fire pits were upgraded and well-maintained. Some things to be careful with: 1/ Some weeds in the grass can be sticky and painful to pick off. Be careful walking in grass near the cabins (wear water shoes). 2/ Some dogs may be reactive to people/other dogs (barking). But everyone was very respectful. 3/ Didn't try the swimming pool; it looks a little muddy. 4/ Coffee station not working well. We noticed from others' reviews and brought our own coffee boiling pot with pour makers. They also didn't provide milk/coffee mate. 5/ Pillows are not quite comfortable.

And just like last time, it was a great stay. I'm not sure if I noticed their amenities last time or if they added on facilities in the last decade, but a few things to know: o There is a giant, we're talking massive swimming pool that's 3"5 deep all the way around. As a shawty, I appreciate that. There's plenty of seating, pergolas for much-needed shade. No restrooms at the pool. o Volleyball court o A main lodge area/event space, perfect for family reunions and such. o There's a "motel" also onsite. o It's dog-friendly, with a max of two dogs per cabin and a $25 deposit per pet per night. o Amazing sunsets, direct lake access for swimming or boating, grilling areas, and "The Point" which is a great spot for a nightcap and handing with friends/family. As for the cabins, once again our group reserved five of their six cabins that each come equipped with two decks overlooking Canyon Lake, a hot tub, multiple bedrooms, living spaces, fireplaces, full kitchens.... Note that some cabins may have a studio-style room with no wall. Our AC was kickin' and there was plenty of hot and cold water. Only gripe is the living room seating in our cabin, Cabin F. The chairs stunk like BO. My guess is that guest sit on them with wet river clothes... hope they steam them.

We stayed in the Monarch cabin for our 12-year anniversary. We lucked out and found a relatively…read morecheap-ish two-night stay, so we went for it. The drive out is a bit out of the way -- Fredericksburg is about an hour from most larger cities -- but Onera itself is only about a minute from town. The property is fenced (mostly to keep cars out), though the surrounding area isn't the most scenic right now due to nearby construction. Inside the property you'll drive on a mix of paved and unpaved roads depending on where your cabin is. First impression: the shared pool area is much smaller than it looks in the photos. A little disappointing, but we came for the cabin anyway. Finding the Monarch cabin was easy and the instructions, gate code, and door codes were all clear and ready when we needed them. Communication and service were great. The cabin itself looked just like the photos. The decor was fun, the ladder to the second-floor hammock was a cool touch, and the kitchen setup was surprisingly complete: small fridge with freezer, dual hot plates, and a gas grill outside. You could easily cook full meals here - we did. Where things fell short was maintenance. Some areas were dirty or worn. The gas grill had torn metal right above the gas canister that made turning it on and off feel a little unsafe, and the grates were extremely dirty even after we tried cleaning them. The outdoor soaking tub was also dirty and uncovered when we arrived. Cleaning it wasn't hard, but the faucet was loose and the tub didn't seem to get hot water. Meanwhile the cabin shower had plenty of hot water the entire stay. Privacy was another surprise. The marketing makes the cabins look pretty secluded, but they're actually fairly close together. You can hear nearby conversations if windows are open, and the neighboring cabin's kitchen window was pointed directly at our outdoor tub -- so bring a swimsuit. The fire pit was a nice touch but there were no tools (or wood) given to light it. Also worth noting: the cabins don't have Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi code they provide seems to only work near the shared area. Overall, the treehouse concept is fun, but the experience didn't really match the price. It feels more like a novelty stay than a luxury one. It could still work as a unique base if you're visiting Fredericksburg for wineries and town activities, but I wouldn't come with high expectations.

Stayed at Onera this weekend to celebrate a milestone birthday in the Cocoon house!…read more Overall, this place was absolutely fantastic. The cocoon was lovely, clean, with lots of thoughtful little amenities like the espresso, grill and grill tools, robes, plenty of towels, etc. The pool was right next door to our unit so an easy walk and people were very respectful noise-wise. The pool was lovely- it's still heated even in the summer so very warm. The deck and chairs were clean, and I love the towel station where you don't need to use your room towels you can grab them there and discard. The pool is connected to a lovely sitting area in the trees with this awesome built in hammock- loved that!! The sauna was easy to use and adorable as well. I found the AC in the unit to be fantastic and kept our unit so cold, and the bed was great!! I also love how they cultivate plants to attract butterflies, so pretty. WiFi also worked amazing and was strong the whole time. We really enjoyed our lounge pool as well! Now, a couple things. I didn't look to see if there was a map, but our unit was not that private. Because the pool deck is raised you could see over our fence into our deck. You can also see roads and people and cars from our lounge pool. I am sure there is more privacy further back, but the cocoon doesn't have much at all and I probably would have picked a different unit if I knew that. Overall the photos made it look much more woodsy and remote than it is- everything is pretty close together and I really wish there was more trees so you aren't staring at the back of staff quarters when in the hammock. Second, you need a lighter to light the grill. We didn't know that and wasted a lot of time trying to troubleshoot. This place is really communicative so that was surprising that this wasn't notated in the check in instructions. There was also not a lighter in our room- requiring us to notify the concierge and wait for staff to deliver one. Finally, the cocoon has an extremely overwhelming smell of plastic- probably because it's made of plastic. It didn't bother my boyfriend but it was pretty off putting to me. The reason I gave five stars instead of four was because of their concierge service. Never in my life have I had such fast and helpful responses to everything I asked! I'm someone who has no qualms reaching out immediately for help if I am wondering about anything, and they were averaging a less than 5 minute response time- even when I sent a question at 4 am oncw that popped into my head while I was at an airport before our stay!! And that staff member arrived with our lighter in 5 minutes! There are always small things that can be changed, but we really enjoyed our time here and would love to come back- prices are significantly cheaper during the week so we would probably do that.

It was a little cool still, so we opted out of swimming, but the pool is very nice and shaded from the harsh summer sun that's just around the corner. If you want to stay connected, there is WiFi throughout and TV's in your room and under the cabana outside. If you go with a group, there is more than enough room inside and out, including seating in the cabana! All of this, and they are pet friendly! Bentley had just as a relaxing weekend as we did, although we suspect he never works that hard at home either. ;-) Totally worth it!

It had 4 main bedrooms to accommodate us and and our three kids and their spouses. Then it provided a giant bedroom that our 10 grandchildren could enjoy and be comfortable! The main house had a large family area and a perfect kitchen! The covered outdoor kitchen was where we spent a lot of our time! The covered pool allowed use all day long!! The kids enjoyed the tubing in the river a lot!! There is a big yard where ballgames, laser tag, flying drones, and water ballon battles occurred daily!! Also the big parking area allowed all 67 of our Saturday guests a place to park safely and conveniently!! Gruene offers lots to do and we had a fun filled, busy week! The owners, Lynnae and Jeff became fast friends and they accommodated our every need! They have the place outfitted perfectly from the kitchen to the bedrooms to the outdoor furniture! This place was perfect for our family celebration!

The property has such a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere, and the cabin-style accommodations strike a great balance between cozy and comfortable. One of my favorite things was how much there is to do without ever leaving the property. Between La Piscine, the clubhouse with games and pool, plenty of outdoor seating, and direct access to the Comal River, it was easy to spend the entire day just relaxing. Whether you want to swim, fish, or simply sit by the river and enjoy nature, it's all right there. I also loved that they offer food and drinks throughout the day, making it even easier to settle in and enjoy your stay. If you do decide to venture out, you're just minutes from downtown New Braunfels and Schlitterbahn, so the location is incredibly convenient. Whether you're planning a romantic getaway, a trip with friends, or a family vacation, Petit Cowboy is such a fun and unique place to stay. There was not many people that were enjoying the amenities it look like as you can see from the pictures but it is gorgeous where the clubhouse is there is a really lovely fire pit and a lot of trees and the pool area it was also really nice. This is right by the lake also so we went by there both days that we stayed and it was really enjoyable. I wish that they had pull through RV sites but the price wasn't too bad. The people working at the park or super friendly even though we checked in really late and helped us back into the spot since that was the first time that my husband was parking this RV. All of our neighbors are really friendly and it is also really dog friendly. All in all we would go back.
