If you're looking for a peaceful Canyon Lake getaway, Log Cabins at Jacobs Creek is absolutely worth the trip. My family stayed there over spring break and we could not have been happier with the experience. The cabins are charming, clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The beds were unbelievably comfortable, and the atmosphere around the property was calm and beautiful. There are plenty of nearby places to eat, fish, and enjoy nature, which made it easy to unplug and spend quality time together. The owners and staff were incredibly kind and accommodating throughout our stay. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests. We'll definitely be returning. read more

These log caving on Canyon Lake are so beautiful and it's so nice to be able to find a place away from the hustle and bustle of town. Very spacious, beautiful views of the sunset, nice comfy beds, and a kitchen if you want to cook your own meals. You do need to bring your own towels, food and shower items, but I absolutely love the charm of these cabins with their own balconies with a view. My only suggestion is to secure a room on the second story. The floors are not very insulated and you can hear every footstep if someone is staying above you. Still an amazing place to stay and will definitely be back on our next trip down! read more

This place is conveniently located. The staff is informative and friendly and they had a vacancy 3 weeks before Labor Day. We loved the kitchen table and the room outside to grill and picnic together. The porch is perfect for a pretty sunrise/sunset. There was parking for the boat and they said there were cameras so we felt it was safe and the boat launch was very close. That's the good stuff. The not so good stuff - it was dirty and the 8 pages of rules show that they do not provide toilet paper, dish soap, soap of any kind, or towels (kitchen, bath, paper, beach). There were some kitchen utensils and plates but not enough for a cabin that sleeps 8 and they weren't very clean. The walls and ceilings are PAPER thin. You can hear EVERY step they take and every word they say, and the floors squeak so loud. It sounded like there was a constant herd of elephants above us all day and night. We got absolutely ZERO sleep. I cannot stress enough that I never got more than 20 minutes each time I would fall asleep. The staff said they take quiet time serious but you can't complain about people walking around. We were told there was a specific route to walk to the lake but we didn't really see the water from our cabin. We had to empty all trash cans, sweep and mop, and wash and put away all dishes before we left. It really doesn't feel like a vacay when you have to clean it when you arrive and then clean it when you leave. read more

I totally love this place!!!! I have been here 4 times already with family and friends yet I've never had a complain. It has almost everything you need for your stay like (kitchen utensils, tv, wifi, etc.) In my opinion, their wifi needs a little more work but seeing I was there to relax and actually "enjoy" the vacation, I didn't care for the internet The cabins are within walking distance to the lake which is great for enjoying the view and relaxing in the fresh water with friends/family! The staff has always been super helpful with all my accommodations and have answered my questions without hesitation. My wife and I had an efficiency cabin for one night. They were very clean and the staff was friendly. It was old, and a bit archaic. You expect a little more modernity, especially when that price gets you that at other places. The cabins are close to the lake, but only technically. There is no real access to the lake from behind the cabin, just a view. The most disappointing part, really, was that we had plans to stream a movie and the wifi wasn't working, it was actually non existent despite that it was advertised. When relaying this information to the staff upon checkout, they made no effort to compensate for this deficiency. We wouldn't come back. read more

If you are looking to get away and enjoy the river/lake and come back to a quiet place to rest, this is not the place! It is very noisy, the cabin is old, and you can hear everything. If you rent one of these cabins, try to rent one upstairs or one off by itself. We were downstairs and could hear everything that was going on above us, as though they were right in our own cabin. The WIFI doesn't work well, if you have a large group coming in for the weekend you will be charged extra after 2 cars, and we were also charged to change our reservation date well ahead of time. We saw spiders and scorpions which made us wonder how much pest control is called. There was a nice porch, a kitchen with most utensils/pans, and the place seemed fairly clean though. The owners were friendly and did try to help out with our noise complaint. They did enforce quiet time after midnight but if people are even walking around above you, you will hear EVERYTHING. This place just wasn't for us. read more

I will NEVER stay at this place again. We should have realized there was a problem when were making the reservations and she informed up this was NOT a Hilton or a Hyatt. she is right I could get 2 suites at the Hilton for 2 nights for what it cost me to stay there. plus at the Hilton or Hyatt you don't have to clean, sweep and mop, they provide a working coffee pot (which ours wasn't", towels which JC doesn't. And they charge $50 per lost key, which the Hilton and Hyatt don't. Also right after we got there noticed water all over the floor coming from the AC unit. We called and she AGAIN informed us this wasn't the Hyatt or Hilton-guess what she is right because the Hyatt or Hilton would have fixed it or moved us to make it right. She did call back late Saturday and we told her we were keeping it cleaned with our own towels it was just an inconvenience. And to noooooooooooooooo surprise she chewed us out saying she would have appreciated a call sooner. there was 16 people in our group with 3 cabin's at $600 each meaning Jacobs Creek cabin made $1800.00 off us and we were treated with nothing but disrespect. No chance would we EVER stay there again. read more

Myself and a group of friends rented a cabin for a weekend and overall we had a great experience! We loved our cabin as we had a great view of the lake and it is was so nice to have a full kitchen with everything included like utensils, etc! Working with the owner was simple, although they are hard to get a hold of sometimes. The owners sister Mari was on site when I arrived to get into the cabin and she was so sweet! I asked for a few extra trash bags and such and she was very nice and accommodating, even offering to drive us to the tubing outfitter the next day so we did not have to drive ourselves! The only issues with the cabin itself that I saw were the dead ants in the corner of the living room, but they were DEAD, so that means it has been sprayed! I did not see any other bugs the entire weekend. Oh, and wi-fi does not have a strong enough signal to work in our cabins, but really, we needed to be disconnected anyway. We partied one of the nights and had no issue with anyone else saying we were too loud, although the cabin below us was thumping til about 4:30AM. The quiet hours are not enforced but at the same time, I am not complaining because we were loud one of the nights too! You have to realize you are at a vacation destination where people go to float, relax and DRINK. Parking in front of the cabins is sparse, but there is a big gravel/grassy area all of twenty steps away where you can park your car after you unload. This cabin was by and far the best deal for the money in the area and for what you get, amenity wise! I can't wait to go back and perhaps do the 2 person cabin for me and my significant other. read more

Me and a large group of friends and family rented cabins for the weekend and although the cabins themselves were really cute, our overall experience was frustrating and management was downright rude! As I said, the cabins were really cute and the A/C in our cabin worked well, but that's about all the good I can say about it. Our stove/oven had no power so thank goodness our friends stove had 2 working burners out of 4 that we could cook on. The sheets on my bed smelled like dirty feet, the couch was filthy and looked like a throw back from the 70's and the floors were gritty and nasty and held together with duct tape. We were in a downstairs unit and the floors upstairs creaked horribly and we had people above us that paced the floors all night beginning about 3:00am. We got relatively no sleep the whole trip. Then, our friends cabin had a problem with the A/C leaving puddles of water in the floor. They called and let management know what was going on and the maintenance guys came over to soak up the water rather quickly, but they did not fix the problem. After they left, a woman from the management office called and informed her that the A/C was making puddles because the doors were being left open (which they were not) and then the woman snidely told her "I would like to remind you that you're not staying at the Hyatt or the Hilton!!" WHAT??? Of course we aren't. If we had been, the rooms would have been much cleaner, nicer and cheaper! I believe the next time, the Hyatt or the Hilton is EXACTLY where we will be staying because it certainly won't be the Cabins Jacobs Creek! OH.........my husband also caught the maintenance man letting himself into our friends room later that night AFTER everyone was already in bed (almost midnight) so he could "fix the A/C". Really?? I will NEVER stay at this place. I tried to book a reservation and spoke with the owner. She was extremely condescending and dismissive. I was about to give her my credit card information to book the room for 2 nights. I began to give her my billing address and she continuously interrupted me with a very snide tone in her voice. I asked her if she would be able to send me an email with confirmation and the address so I could print it out for tax records as well as the address so I could plug the address into my GPS to find the place easily. She said she didn't want to send me an email and that they don't do that. The whole conversation was extremely off-putting and rude. She then asked me if I'd been to their website and I replied yes. She proceeded to tell me that I could just get the information off the website. There was absolutely ZERO appreciation for my business and they will not be getting it. I don't want to stay at a place where my business is not appreciated. There are plenty of other places to stay on Canyon Lake that are closer to the water. I will NOT stay there and I advise you don't either. read more
