My husband and I stayed one night in "Bungalow 23" and were VERY disappointed. This place is a dilapidated shanty. The toilet is practically on the ground and I had a very hard time sitting on this thing and getting up. And the bed is a sink hole. We both rolled to the middle and needless to say, got NO sleep. For what we paid, this place was unacceptable. Just don't!

Yummy (and strong!) wine slushee. Highly recommend!

The Lodge was a nice little getaway, just an hour drive from Austin. Our family really enjoyed the cleanliness of the lodge, the nice staff and the water, which was just a 3 minute walk from our room. Having a 12 tap bar down by the swimming hole was a huge perk! The Lodge is very budget friendly, too. Beautiful outdoor spaces & scenery make this place worth the stay. Just a few things to note to make the 3-star review: 1. Masks are not enforced in any indoor space 2. Sleep is not easy here. There are no thermostats in the room, so if you're a hot sleeper like me, bring a fan. I was woken up multiple times during the night from guests in the hall and crying babies in other rooms. It seems there is no insulation. And lastly, the bed was so creaky, when I rolled over/moved I would wake my sleeping toddler. 3. There is no complimentary coffee or continental breakfast. Airbnb has this listed as an amenity. Not a big deal, but I didn't want to purchase a $10 breakfast for one cup of coffee. Boo. Even though we woke up grumpy and tired, it was worth the stay.

This is a walk back in time to your vacation where everything is in one place. You have a tavern and restaurant on location. Food was decent and drinks are good. Local swimming hole is the gem. Drinks and food at the swimming hole. Rentals for tubes and paddle boards. We had a def great time. S'mores are available -complimentary- at evening. Best for a family place also. Two downfalls would be only full beds available and no hot complimentary breakfast like the website say

This place was so much fun! And the front desk staff, especially Lisa, were so welcoming and accommodating. For a relatively inexpensive place, you have a hotel room, swimming pool, swimming hole complete with a cave and a goat island, on site restaurant, on site bar, the list goes on and on. Hotel rooms are no frills, but if you're going to do Wimberley properly, you shouldn't be spending too much time in your hotel room anyway. I will definitely consider coming back and staying here.

My husband and I wanted to spend a long weekend away from our worries and we found it here. The falls, bakery, and Triforks Food Truck on site were delicious and beautiful. We found it peaceful (although a kid did start screaming in the early morning but the king size bed made up for it). There was plenty to do on site or like us Jacob's Well and The Blue Hole two of Texas' most beautiful natural wonders and Wimberley had some amazing shops. Will return and highly enjoyed our adventure that we will treasure forever.

Love this place, it is the perfect getaway. We got married here in 2016 and came back last weekend for a getaway. The staff is new and so are some of the features on the property. The staff was kind to us and even gave us a bottle of wine to welcome us back. They also had 2 fires going and free s'more kits for the guests. There's nowhere else I would have rather had my wedding, and I look forward to spending much more time here when possible. A tip - Get the breakfast tacos from the on site bakery in the mornings. Coolest people operate the bakery, and the tacos are AMAZING!

We had our daughter's wedding here this past weekend. Such a quant little atmosphere. What made this place so special and memorable for us was the exceptional staff. From Sherry greeting us in the Lobby to Nikki in The Tavern. The Chef at the Bistro was great. Especially the breakfast selections. We will definitely be back here soon....Thanks for making our dream wedding come true!!

The room was cozy and thoughtfully set up with a mini fridge (perfect for storing leftovers), a coffee and tea station, and an incredibly comfortable bed that made it hard to leave in the mornings. The bar and brunch alone are worth the visit. Everything we tried was amazing, but the stuffed French toast completely stole the show, hands down the best French toast I've ever had. We also ordered the tostadas, biscuits and gravy, and avocado toast, and every dish was full of flavor and beautifully done. The mimosas were just as impressive; I tried the guava mimosa for the first time and it was so refreshing and delicious. To top it all off, the atmosphere is absolutely perfect. Sometimes they have live music, and you can also head out back to relax by the fire, which really adds to the overall experience. It's peaceful, charming, and feels like the perfect escape. This is truly one of the best places to stay in Wimberley, and we can't wait to come back.

We had brunch at the kitchen and it was perfect. The Bloody Maria was a refreshing start to the day. He got the bacon breakfast tacos, served with with guacamole and salsa. I had the avocado toast which was topped with microgreens and radishes! It was tasty, filling, and fresh. Looking forward to our next stay here. And can't wait to use the pool this summer!

***PARENTS OF THE BRIDE REVIEW***…read more You have seen our daughter's review, so we thought it was only fair that we provide information from our vantage point as well. My wife and I have been staying at the Square Inn for many years now and have always been impressed with the wonderful hospitality provided by Marci, Lloyd and their team. From the wonderful rooms to the fresh cooked breakfast's every morning it is more like visiting family than staying in a bed and breakfast. When they started construction on their Legacy Lounge our only daughter was already engaged and looking for a venue. We immediately recommended that she consider having her wedding here and once she had a chance to take a look she was sold as well. From the very beginning Marci was there to help with suggestions for the wedding and referrals to local businesses that could help us put together the wedding my daughter wanted. Given that our daughter informed us in November she wanted to be married in late April or early May I do not think we could have put this together without her. In the end we booked not only the Legacy Lounge but all 8 rooms of the Square Inn as well. I highly recommend this arrangement as there were enough rooms for the wedding party and increased the footprint of the event allowing for a truly unique experience. We would find out as time went on that the value received on our money was greater than what we believe we would have received at any of the other venues we looked at. Marci, Lloyd and their team were again on point on the day of the wedding providing the services of wedding coordinator, bar staff and entertainment coordinator. There was never a long line at the bar. When some guests wanted to watch the hockey playoffs Marci made that happen on an outside TV. Fire Pit? Here came Lloyd to make the fire come to life. It was almost as if it were if it was one of their own children was getting married that day. At the end of the evening when it was time to go, we moved the happy couple to the front of the Square Inn where they were able to say goodbye to all their guests and finally relax for the evening. As we had booked all the rooms, only the wedding party remained after the ceremony and reception and the bride and groom were able to spend a quiet night in the courtyard with their closest friends relaxing after what had been a couple of very busy and stressful days. This was the most unique wedding we have ever attended and we cannot think of anything that could have made it better. If you are looking for a somewhere to hold a special event, do yourselves a favor and give the Legacy Lounge / Square inn a look. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

This year's water level is historically low (since the 1960s), so direct swimming access to the water is nearly impossible. Boat ramp closed. However, the view is still spectacular. We also appreciate the grill spots -- we saw previous complaints about the grills -- honestly, we don't quite understand why they are being so picky with the public grill spots lol... I can tell they have tried their best to manage/clean. A/C works well, especially at night! Not much noise created. All the fire pits were upgraded and well-maintained. Some things to be careful with: 1/ Some weeds in the grass can be sticky and painful to pick off. Be careful walking in grass near the cabins (wear water shoes). 2/ Some dogs may be reactive to people/other dogs (barking). But everyone was very respectful. 3/ Didn't try the swimming pool; it looks a little muddy. 4/ Coffee station not working well. We noticed from others' reviews and brought our own coffee boiling pot with pour makers. They also didn't provide milk/coffee mate. 5/ Pillows are not quite comfortable.

And just like last time, it was a great stay. I'm not sure if I noticed their amenities last time or if they added on facilities in the last decade, but a few things to know: o There is a giant, we're talking massive swimming pool that's 3"5 deep all the way around. As a shawty, I appreciate that. There's plenty of seating, pergolas for much-needed shade. No restrooms at the pool. o Volleyball court o A main lodge area/event space, perfect for family reunions and such. o There's a "motel" also onsite. o It's dog-friendly, with a max of two dogs per cabin and a $25 deposit per pet per night. o Amazing sunsets, direct lake access for swimming or boating, grilling areas, and "The Point" which is a great spot for a nightcap and handing with friends/family. As for the cabins, once again our group reserved five of their six cabins that each come equipped with two decks overlooking Canyon Lake, a hot tub, multiple bedrooms, living spaces, fireplaces, full kitchens.... Note that some cabins may have a studio-style room with no wall. Our AC was kickin' and there was plenty of hot and cold water. Only gripe is the living room seating in our cabin, Cabin F. The chairs stunk like BO. My guess is that guest sit on them with wet river clothes... hope they steam them.
