Western omelet was great! They use mushrooms and tomato (which made it a little watery but delish nonetheless ) and everything was cut into huge chunks, yum! I opted for home fries vs hash browns and they let me add onions. I was disappointed when I saw her drop sliced onions in the deep fryer, and then sliced potatoes in a separate basket. Bummer. I was really looking forward to potato chunks cooked with onions on the flat top. They came out more like thick potato chips. Oh well, the omelet made up for it. Service was fast and friendly. Passing through the area and wanted something other than the chain places. Found this place and glad I did. I got the special which was roast beef then chose two sides. Turnip greens and butter beans. Everything was awesome. I could cut the need with my fork. Looking forward to stopping again. If you plan to leave a tip on your card you have to tell them before they swipe it. read more

We found this spot on Yelp while using IExit. If you have ever missed a good old fashioned slaw dog from a lunch counter, Logan's is the place. I'll have to say that all the food that I saw them prepare looked amazing. The ladies were all super friendly and entertaining. We will definitely stop here again while traveling along 95! read more

Quaint diner on a quaint downtown street. Everyone knows everybody. Reminds you a bit of Mulberry Street. The women cooking were all friendly towards the patrons and laughing with each other. We ordered the cheese sticks, kids hotdog, club, and the special: Salisbury steak with onions, mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. The yeast roll was sweet and fluffy and buttery. My club was good. Not spectacular but very tasty. The onion rings though. They were really good. A nice tasty beer batter and you could taste the sweetness in the onions. I'm guessing my husband's lunch was good because he cleaned his plate. Our son at his hot dog and some of the mashed potatoes. The cheese sticks had a nice light batter on them that was well seasoned. Definitely worth driving off the beaten path for. read more

So, anyway, I fell asleep in the car and dreamed about fried chicken with two sides and a big glass of sweet tea. When I woke up I checked my phone for nearby possibilities and there it was...right in the middle of Emporia, Virginia - just off the courthouse square; Logan's Diner. Almost missed it, glad I didn't. Two perfectly seasoned and fried pieces of bird, cabbage and beans later I was stuffed, to-go box in hand, back on the Interstate. We stopped here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon while driving north on 95. This diner is only a 5 minute drive away and so much better than a fast food chain. The town looks run down and the diner is old as well, but well worth trying. We were immediately greeted by the friendly wait staff and served iced cold water. We all thought the food was good and a great value for the money. The BLT and home fries tasted like we make it at home. The pies were home made and delicious. The lemon pie and peanut butter pies hit the spot along with a scoop of breyers ice cream. Don't let the sad little town scare you. You'll be glad you stopped. read more

Quick, friendly service was the experience we had at Logan's. Knew it must be good since a truck driver was leaving while we arrived. The food was fantastic. My wife had the grilled chicken wrap and stated it was as tasty as she ever had. I had the grilled chicken on a bun with swiss cheese and bacon. The lettuce was fresh and crispy and the thick slice of tomato was fresh and juicy. We both enjoyed french fries that were hot and obviously cooked in clean oil. Great local spot...4 of us had breakfast there on 11/1 while traveling through the Emporia area. Friendly locals, good food, reasonable prices and great attentive service. Our waitress Patricia immediately made us feel at home and was helpful with the menu items to make sure we were sure of all the choices. I had fried bologna with my eggs cooked to order with a homemade biscuit that was great. The grits weren't the best but then Emporia is a little far north for great grits. The pancakes and French toast were good also as was the sausage gravy over biscuits. All in all it is a good place to stop for breakfast and only 5 minutes from the interstate. read more
