Logan's has got some different things on their menu. I guess it might be seasonal so I decided to try their teriyaki salmon and grilled shrimp. I got the Caesar salad which was good but the croutons were not soggy but not crunchy either. Kinda disappointed. What is a salad without good croutons right?!? Salmon and shrimp both had amazing flavor. Loved the change. The rice however was a little hard like it hadn't been cooked long enough. Broccoli was also wonderful. We sat at a table at the bar. Let me begin by saying the service was fine. My daughter ordered chicken tenders and I had a 6 Oz sirloin. Her corn was in a puddle of butter, which wasn't great but the issue was the steak. It was cooked perfectly...medium rare, closer to rare. The problem was the flavor. There wasn't any. No flavor at all. No salt or pepper. It literally had no flavor. I can't explain it. The broccoli was fresh and the salad was good. We did have to ask for silverware and the salad came out a good 10 minutes before the appetizer and before pur drinks every arrived. As we were leaving, another server (not ours) -- or maybe the manager---An older woman--- chastised us, complaining that she had "already bussed that table!" Sorry about that ma'am. Placed my order for filet with salad and a margarita. 8:10 received salad and water by 8:20 finished salad canceled margarita that was never made by 8:40 canceled filet that was never cooked. Staff could give two shits whether I was served or not, their loss as I'm typically a 40% to 60% tipper depending on the amount of margaritas I have. I literally never review this is the first I've done in over 10 years. Second time at this place because I'm staying nearby, first experience was better with food but not with staff. The manager is obviously not doing their job and I never saw them on the floor one during my almost hour long starving ass visit. Not a place I'd ever return to. The service was extremely slow, took us forever to get our food and even longer to get our bill. They forgot one of my sides at first. Just moved to town and came here after Texas Roadhouse had an hour and 30 minute wait. We were able to immediately sit at the bar to order drinks while waiting on a table which was nice. The bartender was amazing. She got our drinks going while giving us a heads up that the kitchen would still be about a 25 minute wait after ordering. The other staff were all very friendly as well. It did appear they were short handed as our bartender had to make various salads and bring bread out even though she was the only bartender on a Saturday. Nonetheless it did not affect her positive demeanor at all. I'd hate to think that staff are "used to it" but that was the impression I got. The bread was so so good and came out hot. It did take about 45 minutes before we received any bread but it was worth the wait. We ordered steak and ribs and they were very good. The loaded mashed potatoes & mac n cheese were great, and the chili was very good as well. I ordered chili as a side and by the time I had that and my side salad I was stuffed. Sir/ Ma'am, I picked up my order this evening, and when I arrived home, I was very dissatisfied with how the individual had put a container on top of my food. A container is handled with bare hands at some point, and the bottom is usually placed on a counter to put the food in before the top is placed on and put into the bag. However, it needs to be more sanitary, and placing the container (on top) of my food contaminates the food that the bottom is setting. I am more than confident that if a food inspector were standing next to the individual who selected the container from wherever the containers are stacked, placing it on the top of a counter, filling it up, placing the cover on, and then placing the container directly on top of the food that the consumer is going to eat would not go over well. I am curious whether the counter was clean or the bottom of that container touched a soiled surface. I worked in food service when I was a college student, and I know that not all surfaces are clean and not all container bottoms are clean. The employee should have placed the container in a smaller bag and placed it in the larger bag with the other items in the containers, protecting the food from foreign contamination. This could potentially violate food codes that protect the consumer for whom the food is prepared. Second time here at the Abilene location. Wasn't please the first go around but thought to give it a second chance before I rated. My drinks were not made correctly so asked for them to be corrected and the bartender lady was obviously upset about that, only to get a drink that still wasn't correct. The ribeye sandwich would be better described as a mystery meat sandwich. It's 6:30pm and there's a total of 3 tables and 3 bar patrons, not surprising. Everything about both experiences here leads me to believe that the management isn't involved and allows the employees to run the show. Won't be going back. We tried out Logan's last night for the first time since they reopened. I was so hesitant about going, but pleasantly surprised. The parking lot was full and people obviously parking in the church lot to go in. We figured it would be a really long wait, but pleasantly surprised we were seated right away. Myself, husband, 3 year old and infant. We sat down and immediately greeted by waitress. The first thing I realized was she gave my 3 year old attention and the opportunity to order her drink without being rushed. That's big to us. Most of the time staff are super annoyed by little kids, but reality is parents want to go eat out sometimes too. I'd rather pay 25% tip knowing she will drop a few pieces of corn or lettuce and not be treated ugly. The mushrooms were different. I didn't personally care for the batter. I perfer them to have a little crunch and there wasn't. The horseradish sauce and ranch that came with it was great. My husband had a 12 ounce ribeye with loaded mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. He was shocked that the steak was correctly cooked. He said the potatoes were good but the macaroni was just basic. I had the 12 oz ribeye with baked potato and salad. The salad was great. It was full of lettuce cheese cucumbers tomatoes and great ranch. Baked potato a small, but perfectly cooked and my steak was super tender and cooked medium. I will admit that I am a steak snob. There was a fire grill marks but there was really no seer to the steaks. Again, I am a steak snob. They had great flavor and were tender. Even my three-year-old liked it. My three-year-old had a mini cheeseburger with corn's menu and it came out correct and she enjoyed it. I didn't think about getting pictures until we had already dug into everything. me personally if I could change anything it would be the better on the mushrooms and putting in the order for the appetizer prior to the meal. Because they came out within two minutes of each other. I asked my husband how the weight staff would even make money because there were so many. On our side alone we saw over 9. I just remember as a kid in college being cut down to two or three tables and a major's restaurant was terrible on Somedays, but I totally get they want to make Sure each table is taken care of. Came in there on Sunday afternoon, Salad & onion rings were the only positive thing to say about this place. Sticky ribs were tough as hell (no slow cooking here) steak had ZERO flavor, baked tater was undercooked, pulled pork had a funky taste. Waitress blamed everything on the kitchen, can't blame the kitchen for not refilling drinks. Never saw a manager! Months ago I went to a Logan's in Abilene Texas. We were served by a male waiter, that wore makeup high heels and fake eye lashes. I did not respond to this person. We were thrilled to hear that Logan's had opened back up after being closed for so long. Early Monday night seemed to be a good time to go since we felt that they wouldn't be too busy. We were right. Walked in at 6:05 and were immediately seated. It took a bit to look over the new menu, so I ordered a frozen house margarita. It came pretty quickly and I could tell before tasting that it wasn't anything to write home about. Now, before anyone gets on the "why frozen" bandwagon, let me explain. Not all frozen margaritas are wimpy. There's a Mexican restaurant just across the loop from this place that makes a frozen margarita about 1/3 the size of Logan's and if you can down 3 of them and walk out steadily, you're good. Logan's was almost all ice - like a snow one without any juice. It might have had a squeeze of lime, but I didn't detect any tequila or triple sec. I won't make that mistake again. The rolls came shortly after we ordered, but our food didn't show up until after 7:00 pm. I kept looking around and we weren't the only table waiting and they were only at maybe 60% occupancy. I had the buttermilk fried checken breast and they were super dry with (not over) a tablespoon of gravy on each one. The gravy was good as far as I could tell; but I needed a bowl of it to make up for the super dry chicken breasts. The waffle fry's were good. I had already finished one of the chicken breasts before my fried okra came out - and, trust me, that chicken breast went down slow. I had to ask about the okra because they had completely forgotten about it. My wife, who ordered a salad, and I both tried the okra because we are both fried okra fans. It was breaded and fried just about right, but was totally missing any flavor at all. It took over 90 minutes of mostly waiting to finish a disappointing meal. I rarely leave a lot of food on the table; but when the server asked if I needed a box I had to tell her no - and walked away from almost half my meal. I'm hoping they can get it together. They used to be pretty darn good; but for about 2 weeks into their grand reopening - is was very disappointing. I'm hoping they are checking these. After the 40min mark, I walked up to the kitchen window and asked "how much longer, we've been waiting for our food for 40min". The kitchen staff told me, word for word, "the kitchen is backed up, it will be a while for food to come out". When the food finally came out, the steaks were not cooked right, mine was still raw, fries were stale and the food was cold. A lil pissed because I ordered a burger and wanted rice instead of the fries when the waitress tells me that there will be an upcharge for the rice when it's the same price as the fries. While our party of six was waiting (understandably so since it's a large group), we were knocked off of the waiting list twice. We went up to see how much longer - we weren't on the list... twice. After initially being told it would be a 30 minute wait, we were seated after an hour and fifteen minutes with the comment "your table has been ready for so long..." No text confirmation to let us know it was ready. We sat down and ordered. Drinks took about 10 minutes to come out and we're average. We ordered our food and waited an hour for it to come out. When the food came out, it didn't come out together. Some meals were cold and steaks were incredibly over cooked. I ordered the filet rare and it was more well done than well done. Every steak was over cooked. There were three steaks, one of us said take it off my ticket I, the other two of us sent them back. They said ten to fifteen minutes, so sorry. The manager did not come out to see us. 45 minutes later we asked to see the manager (who should've come to see us after a problem with $80 of steaks). We ultimately didn't pay for our steaks and did not receive the reordered round of steaks. We were offered a free dessert, which we declined because we had been there and had a terrible experience for three hours at this point... forget waiting any longer. The server did a good job.
