I normally don't write reviews until I have been to a place at least 3 times if it is local. This time it will only be 2 times. The first time it was amazing friendly staff great food. Awesome could not complain. I was there last night around 8 got in and seated right away sweet. Wait staff came over to see what drinks we would like didn't even introduce herself. On we have only been there once before and we asked for a little time to look over the menu. She walks away comes back 2 other times then we ordered. We got are food and it was fast and hot and great tasting. The problem I could not handle when she brought the bill. We didn't even have half are food done and she places the bill on top of the bucket of peanuts. Are plates where just sat down and you are handing me the bill. My wife just wanted to get are food to go after that but we just finished and left. Made us feel very unwelcome. read more

I put two stars instead of one because the service was great, server was timely and exceptional. However this might have been the worst steak I have ever had. If you do get steak do not ask for the garlic butter, you will be ordering basically expensive butter soup with steak bits. Classic Logan's. I'm a fan. I love the rolls. It's hard just to eat one...so why stop..your waiter/waitress will keep bringing them. I have found Logan's to be consistent. I'm a fan of their steaks. The grilled veggie skewers and the baked potatoes are great sides. Enjoy! read more

Did not live up to my expectations - steak was not cooked to my liking, steamed broccoli was over cooked, place was not very clean. Sad :(

The only thing that was delicious were the rolls and baked potato. My Fiancé and I requested our steaks to be medium-well. They came out well done. They told us they could make another one. Nope. Still came out well done. So we just paid for our drinks and left. Steaks weren't good either they taste like Coney Island steaks. After a 12 hour drive, I was more than ready for some food - and food is what I got. Not super delicious, but decent food. I guess I could have expected that the food would be mediocre, but there is also the possibility of me being in a pretty crappy mood after a long drive, so there is that. I will say that the waiter we had was very attentive and friendly, so as far as service goes that was great. When all is said and done I would go here again, I would just order something different - the grilled chicken salad with peppercorn dressing looked amazing. read more

I have been here in the past and the food has always been good and service too. But tonight, I get my steak and it was a little bit over cooked but not to the point I couldn't eat it. Fine, all good right? NOT, I asked for A1 for my steak and the waitress brought it out. Cool, dumped it on my steak and cut into my steak and take a bit, nope not A1. Then even after I confronted her about it it took her a while to admit it was a generic. I got angry not cause it's was a generic, but the are trying to pass of this crap as A1. The manager came over asked what the issue was, I was angry cause now my dinner was ruined, 21.99 down the drain, and the manager said why are you angry yes it is a generic but it's the same thing. Well let me tell you it is not the same. At least tell a guest what it is and stop passing off a cheap knock off as genuine. I WOULD LIKE TO ADD A BIT TO THIS REVIEW. The chubby Annie looking hostess rolled her eyes and scoffed when we asked for a booth to accommodate the larger sizes of our family members (at 4pm on a quiet weekday with plenty of empty spots) no way was my brother fitting in one of those tiny chairs sitting under their tiny tables we needed a booth.. clearly. Let me start by saying, I've gone in once in the past and got a watery steak - I went back and gave another chance and I can honestly say- the waitress was great. My steak was cooked to close to the right temp ok but it was a bit watery and somehow rubbery at the same time- the sides were ok- my friend's steak was overcooked twice and they gave them 50% off their meal- My friend didn't complain, admittedly, but their steak was also pale, anemic, watery... both times. The waitress and manger both seemed interested in getting and making everything right, but I don't think they can do much about the quality of meat and the fact it seems like it's overcooked on a low temp instead of a good sear at a higher temp- Overall, service was really good- comfortable atmosphere and seating wasn't bad but you have to be able to climb up and down out of the booth. It's a tight small table in the booth but not uncomfortable, just big enough - I wouldn't recommend it too well for plus sized individuals. I took the rest of my steak home in a box but I was being polite- not seasoned or cooked great- anemic. I can't say I'll go back bc there are better steaks at the same price in town. This place is worth the drive from Carbondale for steak. It kind of reminded me of Texas roadhouse with the same menu and ambience but I think this place has more options on the menu than Texas roadhouse so a wider variety to choose from. I got the ribeye which was okay. I will say Texas roadhouse's is definitely better. This one isn't as flavorful, just your average salt and pepper seasoned steak so I thought it was pretty average. The rolls were sweet and soft just like Texas roadhouse but just not as sweet and they have normal butter instead of cinnamon sugar butter. Nonetheless, still a nice place. read more

Went there to pick up a to go order. The person at the front told me to go to the to go counter which was completely unstaffed. I waited there ten minutes before someone finally got there. Then she just reached down and got me my order, which was sitting there the whole time. What exactly was I waiting ten minutes for? In the meantime a bunch of the staff was at the front counter playing on their phones. The restaurant was not busy, and there was absolutely no reason I should have been ignored. We ordered a burger specifically with no mushrooms, however when it came out it had mushrooms. When we asked for a new one, they came back out WITH THE SAME BURGER (which our waitress, Ariel, did not even bring to us personally), except with the mushrooms scrapped off. When we sent it back again for the brand new burger we requested, it took another 20 minutes to come out. By that time, the rest of the group had finished their food and paid. An okay chain steakhouse that serves an area full of chain hotels. It gets really busy so if you are by yourself they try to make you sit at the bar, which I don't like because I end up elbowing the person next to me and don't have room for my plates. I was by myself and did get a tiny booth that would seat maybe two small people but it was way in the back by the kitchen door with some wait staff sorting utensils right next to me, so not a very relaxed or pleasant place to eat. Although I did get my food more quickly. Had the steak and shrimp combo. I liked that they offer small portions instead of having an enormous size (over 8 oz) forced on you. Steak was decent, as in not the greatest I ever had but way better than what you get at places like Outback. The waitress has you check if the steak is done how you like it before she leaves it. There is some seasoning rub used on the steak but again not as much/ not as obnoxiously peppered as Outback, which was good because I like to taste the meat. The shrimp and cinnamon apples were so-so (apples were runny like canned). Sweet potato fries are pretty good and you can get them with caramel and marshmallows melted on. Servers here are very young, but service was OK. Food came quickly and they checked a lot on whether I needed a drink refill. However, they got very rushed at the end and left my check without even asking me if I was planning to have dessert or coffee or needed anything else. I was a little surprised as I think I had been in there all of a half hour tops and it was like they couldn't wait to get me out of the table. So, I didn't get any dessert and they were out a sale. The veggies were cold , the potato was hot. The rice was cool, not warm. The server never asked how my food was until I was done with the stuff that was decent. Logan's Roadhouse, where do I even begin? This place has rules, which was a real problem for me as I like to be how I wanna be when at restaurants. Just as an example, "Rule #4, Memorable experiences may be created FREE OF CHARGE". That last part lies the problem, "Free of charge". It is basically saying that everything else cost money which is really frustrating to someone who is already ball'n on a budget, ya feel? On the way over to the bar I stumbled across many peanuts as they allow their guests to just throw their shells wherever they please. I understand they are trying to create a messy environment to make you feel as though you are still on the ole hog farm but come on, this is a restaurant people NOT a hog farm. After rummaging through mounds of peanuts and all of the dust that comes with it, I made it to the bar. I sit down to be greeted by and absolutely awfully nice bartender. She took my drink order which was a giant peach tea. Although it was good I would say it may have been my favorite peach tea I have tried to date. I would not recommend you going without a peach tea when visiting. They are served in a giant mason jar which I only enjoyed a lot, very unique. Lastly, I ordered a giant thing of nachos which was good but kind of frustrating. It was too much food for me to finish which is really frustrating in a time of such an obesity epidemic. Have you seen the obesity rates? Its huge, like 65% of Americans are obese. So, the fact that Logan's Steakhouse just did not even care about my health was a problem. Once I started ingesting the nachos I did unfortunately really enjoy them thoroughly until I was interrupted by none other than the dreaded Boston Red Sox on the television set. I hate Boston. I went there two weeks ago for work and was disgusted. Its very dirty and for so many people to have to commute on a two lane highway was frustrating to say the most. Boston did NOT live up to the standards I had seen on television shows and movies. Overall, I had a terribly good experience with a few minor set-backs. Went there this past Friday night to meet another couple. All I can say is the food has really disappointed us lately. Friday night was the worst so I do not believe we will be going back. I actually got the chopped sirloin burger with mashed potatoes. When the waitress set my plate down I immediately asked..Where's the potatoes? She replied... under the meat. WOW! Maybe a Tablespoon worth was there, the meat was as thin as they could press it and about 3" in diameter. My man friend ordered a pretty extensive steak that ended up being mostly FAT. The other couple was sure happy they just got wings. LOL! Yep we were hungry when we got home. To think how Logan's used to be my favorite place to go is now no more. The bill was around $45.00. Went here last night and I ordered the salmon. It had a weird almost "hot dog" taste, rice pilaf flavorless and my shrimp skewer cold. Luckily the dinner salad and rolls were really good. My husband and I love Logan's.Our first experience was at the Marion location.I highly recommend this place.The staff are really friendly.Logan's has a really great family atmosphere. All tables have a bucket of peanuts. I recommend their sweet BlackBerry or Strawberry tea.I love their French dip sandwich and another one of my favorites is their salmon. I wanted to give a shout out to the Logan's in Marion IL. We drove an hour and a half to Marion for a Miners game and wanted to find a place to eat. We all decided Logan's and when we pulled into the parking lot we almost changed are mind. The parking lot was full and I knew we would not get good service and it would take too long to get our food. The staff proved me wrong. As we were walking into the crowded bar area, the bartender came out from behind the bar and took our drink order and said she would save us a seat when one opened up. I don't think we waited more than 5 minutes for all 4 of us to sit down. About 10 minutes later she took our order and our appetizer and salad came out promptly. Our dinner was not too far behind. Both bartenders Jamie & Cali were so attentive and gave us the best service I have ever received from any restaurant. I could not believe how everyone worked so great together and even the other servers were pitching in. Every seat in the house was filled and the bar was packed, they never missed a beat. I travel all over the U.S. and have visited thousands of restaurants and have never seen such great service under these circumstances. First time at Logan's - did not start well when I asked for a chocolate martini at the bar & the bartender looked at me & said "I don't know how to make that". I would have preferred " I'm not familiar with that drink let me look it up & see if we have all the ingredients ". I switched drink requests & all was fine. When seated at our table we had an excellent server & snacked on peanuts & delicious warm rolls until our dinner was served. Staff accommodated my special requests with no problem. I brought home more than I ate - big servings- my steak was great & my husbands fried chicken breast was the best I've ever tried - VERY moist. Will definitely make this a place to go for a night out. Thanks for helping me celebrate my birthday!!
