The first time was great, dealt with who I believe is the owner. Second time, my poor dog was petrified when they gave her to me...after bringing the wrong dog out. I was charged the same amount as the first time (she was in horrible condition being rescued from the street, but they didn't do half the job, trimming her belly & privates, which I thought would have been easier the second time around) ...I had to sit in the parking lot for 15 minutes before my dog would relax and unlatch herself from my neck. She's a little shi tzu rescue and she was so scared that her little face was unrecognizable! I can't take her back here. Even it was a bad day, which it seemed to be, there were teenagers running the desk, I don't like to think anyone was mean to my dog, but she was literally terrified when I got her back. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Brought my dog in on Saturday to get groomed and he's been miserable every since! He has a open wound on the base of his tail, that was not there when I brought him in, and has red spots all over his body from them dousing him with perfume instead of bathing him! His hair was so greasy and he has been in pure misery since Saturday itching his body. He has skin allergies, which they are aware of but they use perfume on him anyway! Also, he can only be bathed with medicated shampoo, that I'm formed them about but they didn't bathe him at all. When I call to discuss him being in misery and covered in red spots, the girl would express it she was sorry but then turn it around and blame it on me! Then, she says " I don't know what else you want us to do because we're not giving you anything for free", excuse me? Then I say, " I don't want anything for free but you can't apologize and then blame it on me and expect me to be nice." She then says, " it is 100% all your fault because you should have let us know in that is your dog." I have told them every single time that I walk in that place but it's my fault because they don't write it down or relay it to other people. The lady I talked to was very condescending and hateful! I took my pup in for the first time a few months ago. Scheduling was very easy and the girls at the front were very friendly. No, you will not get a direct answer when you ask how much the grooming will be. I took a chance and I was pleased with the results. They even sent me a really cute picture of my pup showing how good my pup had been. I took my pup back a few months later and when I went to pick up my pup...they immediately told me they had problems with my pup and that I did not tell them that my pup bites. I was also told that my pup would not stay standing and would "scream". I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH PETSMART OR BELLA AND BOWS OR THE VET. I paid and left and will never go back again. My pup yelps every time I try to pick her up now. I hate I did not follow the advice of the previous reviews. I know the reply to this review will be negative but that is ok. Whatever is going on at Lola Bell's needs to stop. I am soo disappointed because I thought I found somewhere I could trust. Now my pup seems traumatized. Also, any dog will bite if you are handling them roughly if they are afraid of you or mistreating them. Patience is the key. All it would have taken is a little TLC. read more

Very DISAPPOINTED I've taken my dog to Lola Bell's several times and I have been very satisfied every time I've picked him up. But yesterday when I picked him up he was fine until I got him home and we went for a walk and I noticed that he was walking funny and kept licking his butt something he never does. so once we got home he still continued to act weird so I picked him up and noticed his butt was cut up and was bleeding a little. I took him to the vet this morning and she said he was fine health wise but to her it looked like he was cut by the clippers. I don't understand why I wasn't told by the staff what happened but one thing for sure I will not give Lola Bell's anymore of my business. read more

I will be very clear and say that I am in fact, not a troll account or a customer. I am just a concerned Mobile County citizen. After reading the reviews and reaching out to the business myself, I can honestly say this is not a business anyone should support. I have NEVER seen a business act in such an inappropriate and disrespectful manner. Being a business that works with animals, you would think that it would be easy for them to show some sympathy and heart in their work. After reaching out to them to let them know of the policies in place to protect their customers, they didn't respond and instead, blocked me from their Facebook page. With there being other options, why go with a business that doesn't value their customers? The relationships you hold with your customers is EVERYTHING to a company and should be treated as such. I can't believe after harassing a customer by posting their personal information to your public business Facebook account; you have the audacity to follow that up with another post saying "We love our customers, thanks for the support throughout the years." This place is HORRIBLE! I've had only one experience years ago and that was enough. The price was jacked up from what was quoted and the "owner" is rude and aggressive. Since my bad experience, I have heard so many nightmare stories, I just don't know how this place is still in business and why they have not been arrested for animal abuse. I even overheard a complete stranger at a table next to me in a restaurant relating his experience with boarding his dog there and as he was talking he broke down in sobs over the way his poor pup was treated and badly injured. I've spent quite a bit of money at Lola Bell's over the course of many years with my pets. Back from when their business was in the tiny building on Florida Street...It's a shame that they don't find it necessary to be loyal to their clients, as their clients have been loyal to them. I do believe in doing business with small business, but it seems like the small business forgets who helps get them there( i.e. their larger building perhaps, by telling their friends-co-workers)Loyalty is NOT returned here! And yes, I've looked the other way when my dogs have been nicked on several occasions here, but now I am going to speak out and say GO ELSEWHERE...I've been a good client and patient, but fair is fair! There are A LOT of better options out there, so think twice! My dog was kicked out while I was out of town and already had made arrangements with them weeks ago to stay with them ...ALL because he suffers from arthritis as most Great Pyr's do. Some days he has great days, some days he is a little slow...I am out of town and had to get my niece to go pick him up only a couple hours after she left him there for me. He is the sweetest boy, and is NO problem and would not hurt a flea! If they did not want to keep him, why wait while I'm already out of town to decide NOT to keep him??? Tell me this beforehand, right? Discrimination for a poor dog??? It's not his fault! If you care for your furr babies STAY AWAY! I just wanted everyone going to Lola Bells for the 1st time to get a quote when you drop your dog off. I called and made an appointment and ask how much would it cost for grooming a 35 lb. dog, she told me $40. When I went to pick up my dog the charge had jumped to $60. I feel this is a huge price difference and should have been told when I dropped my dog off. I wish I would have looked at the reviews before I went there, it looks like this has happen before i guess I should be glad I wasn't arrested but when I called the lady in charge(because she was out to lunch)she said to me she felt she was being bullied(not a word the should be used lightly) I told her I felt like I was being bullied into paying .You would think the owner would have a policy of discussing the price with customers at the time of dropping off your pet but maybe they don't care about customers coming back. I picked up my dog from a grooming appointment and both of her eyes were inflamed and filled with blood. All of the white part of her eyes was blood red. I took her back in and asked what happened and was told that she was "jumpy" when they were grooming her. I took her straight to the vet and he said that she sustained some sort of trauma and prescribed steroid eye drops and antibiotics. I called Lola Bells to discuss the situation and the female groomer/owner was rude and unapologetic. I have no idea what happened to my dog, but we will not be going back. I authorized them to give my cats a bath, cut their hair and trim their nails. THAT'S IT. When I picked up my cats they'd decided on their own to administer additional flea medications AND charged me for them. The owner was incredibly rude and condescending and could only tell me he didn't want fleas in his facility so they chose to give them the medication. All he had to do was make a simple two minute phone call to me and ask my approval and he would've known that my cats were already given the SAME medication mere hours before their grooming visit. So now on top of additional charges from them that were NOT authorized by me I also have to take my cats to the vet to assure their okay from a double dose of medication. I'm not sure on what planet it's acceptable to administer medication to someone's animals without their consent AND to charge for it. I also echo what someone else said in their review regarding the complete change in my cats' behavior since I've picked them up. read more
