They've taken out the lamb protein in one of the Hash so I decided to go w the octopus hash. The octopus & toast was good but they added some random southern greens and it was just not good. One of the best brunches I've had in Seattle! We ordered the shakshouka, French toast, and pancakes and all were delicious with brilliantly curated ingredients -- the fruit with the French toast was an assortment of figs and berries, so much more sophisticated than your typical fruit salad mix; the bread with the shakshouka was fresh; the pancakes were fluffy and crispy, and paired well with the sausage for a sweet and salty combination. The restaurant abuts a hotel, and even though we had to wait approx 30mins for our table, it was comfortable and well worth it. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I went at 10am on a Sunday, it's busy as usual! Lucky us that they have a spot at the bar. He proposed to me earlier so we decided to grab brunch to celebrate. Lola never disappointed us. I got an octopus dish and it's reallly good and flavorful. I love that it mixed with the Greek yogurt. But beware your breathe might smell like octopus for awhile. Swung by this place for a casual brunch with a friend and was surprised by how yummy the food was. We started off with some regular and cranberry mimosas. The great thing about this place was this was open on Christmas Eve. The service was very fast. I visited Lola's on a Thursday day trip to Seattle while vacationing. Lola's was recommended by some locals after a wine tasting, as an excellent dinner choice in the area. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and attentive to our needs. We ordered an appetizer of kefthdes (Greek meatballs) served on top of a Greek lemon egg based sauce with hints of dill and chopped Spanish sweet almonds, unique and flavorful. I had Anderson Valley lamb kebobs in a red wine reduction glaze-tender and simply decadent. My classmate had the grilled lamb burger with velvety Bib lettuce and tomato served with rosemary fries, harissa ketchup and tzatziki. We came specifically for the promise of the Octopus Hash, which is unlike anything we've had prior. The layers of flavor paired with the salty, crunchy, smooth textures made for a delightfully complex dish. We paired that with the shakshuka - sweet tomato and lovely feta topped with a green sauce that tied the flavors together. Those may be lyrics to a popular song by the Kinks, but I find myself singing them all night long as we feast on the most delectable kebabs and beautifully plated desserts that one can enjoy in downtown Seattle. Located on the corner of 4th Avenue and Virginia Street on the ground floor of the Hôtel Ändra Seattle, Lola is another in a line of restaurants owned by Tom and Jackie Douglas who have started their own empire of restaurants with cuisines from all over the world. What makes this restaurant so popular is that they serve Rustic Mediterranean cuisine from brunch until late at night all hearty and authentic, and why not as the menu is inspired by the cuisine of Jackie's ancestral home and named after her grandmother, as the spirits of both of her grandparents and their legacy are felt throughout Lola. What brought me to this family restaurant was a work colleague who after dining here that very day for their signature brunches, suggested we bring a group of friends here for an informal dinner, where we could share plates and good times in a hearty atmosphere. Our table of five sat right away, thanks to the reservations that our friend made ahead of time because they were busy on the night we came. The menu at Lola is a rather simple one-pager with Cocktails and Wine on one side of the page, and Food on the other side of the page split up into categories including their Spreads, Meze, Kebabs, Mains, Sides and Non Alcoholic Beverages. Since we were a hearty and hungry group of five diners, we decided to split all six of their Lola Spreads which for 32 dollars you can the six flavors they serve including Tzatziki, Cauliflower and Anchovy, Roasted Sweet Pepper, Olive and Fig, Spiced Carrot Walnut, and Kopanisti, Pistachio, Mavrodaphne all of which are served with freshly griddled pita bread. Of the six my personal favorites were their Tzatziki, Roasted Sweet Pepper and the Kopanisti, Pistachio, Mavrodaphne combination as they all had the perfect amount of sweetness mixed with saltiness without having any lingering aftertaste. To pair with our spreads, we also decided to share their Watermelon Salad, which was freshly sliced watermelon topped with fennel, basil, shallot, and moscatel vinegar. Since we were dining in Washington state, I personally enjoyed a glass of their 2022 Sparkman Apparition from Roussanne, Washington which had hints of nectarine and honey, and had a lovely clean finish on the palate. For our main course, there was more sharing to be had as we decided to split all five versions of their Kebabs, which are served on sizzling skillets with onions and ouzo. We enjoyed their Bristol Bay Sockeye Salmon, served with herb-caper relish; Washington Chicken, served with yogurt and dill; Duroc Pork, served with a honey-harissa glaze; Oyster Mushroom, served with tahini and berbere spices; and Halloumi-Fig served in a red-wine syrup. To pair with our meal we ordered two sides which were their Smashed Potatoes served with fried garlic and dried oregano and their Grilled Summer Squash served with labne, pistachio dukkah and mint. Of our entrees, the Kebabs were the perfect way to enjoy Mediterranean cuisine in a sharable way, as my personal favorites were the salmon and chicken, two local staples that were flavorful and moist despite being grilled on an iron skillet for the duration of the meal. Our server unexpectedly gave us an extra side, their Rosemary Fries which were thick cut and served with harissa ketchup and pepperoncini aioli dipping sauces. Of their sides, their Smashed Potatoes was a highlight as it had that perfect amount of salt and oregano on every mini-potato. To close things off for our meal, we split three desserts including their Triple Coconut Cream Pie topped with toasted coconut and white chocolate; Made to Order Doughnuts with Dahlia Bakery jam and vanilla mascarpone; and their Rosewater Cheesecake served with cardamom shortbread, seasonal berries, with the latter being a real standout. Everything from the service to the food was truly exceptional as at Lola everyone is treated like family, and with reasonable pricing on all of their dishes and cocktails, you can't go wrong with anything that you order. Who knew Mediterranean cuisine could be so good in Seattle? But the real standout is their mini donuts that come with jam & vanilla mascarpone. The eggs Benedict was piled high with ham / bacon - more than I've ever seen on any Benedict! They didn't check up on us too much but was around enough for us to catch someone's eye if needed. Food came out in good time. I guess the front of house and kitchen staff are just well trained. BUT things get pretty pricey at night. And the portions are small. I know that alone will turn away lots of people as it will with me since I will only come here to try the breakfast next time. It's not a dinner spot I'd return to. Me and one friend had Deep Sea Alaskan Ling Cod, Duroc Pork Kebab, Greek Spaghetti, and Rosemary Fries. When we told our server that we intended to share these dishes they brought us bigger plates for sharing and that was nice of them. I knew I wanted to try their homemade donuts, but wanted hea hold me over. At the same time I was cautious about overdoing it, so when the server told me there was a half-Benny option I went for it. Also got a coffee because, well, you wouldn't like me without my coffee. The coffee was great! It seemed to be above average and had some flavors. Especially when compared to all the nondescript coffees so many breakfast places sell. The donuts were amazing, all around divine! They cooked them to perfection, and served them hot and fresh.
