My best friend and I decided to take a quick girls' trip to Seattle. Being in charge of finding a brunch spot, Yelp led me to choose Lola! I made reservations for a Sunday brunch and it was the best way to start our day. We checked in and were seated inside. The restaurant is loud, dim, and bustling. The layout is somewhat narrow and reminded us of Cheesecake Factory lol. Service by all who helped us was friendly and speedy! Food came out fast and water bottles were refilled. A great spot for casual dining! My best friend and I shared the Octopus Hash, Bristol Bay Sockeye Salmon Kebabs, and Made to Order Doughnuts. The seafood scene in Seattle is superb, I love octopus and have never seen such a thing offered. The octopus was tender and came with served so pieces. The hash had a nice variety of savory deliciousness. Wish there was more egg or a bigger egg though! The salmon kebab was delightful--the salmon was well-cooked and moist. The sauce that came with it was tasty and everything was well seasoned. We also requested half salad and half potatoes. We were overjoyed with ending our meal with the donuts. Truly, warm pillowy doughs of goodness. The jam and mascarpone were out of this world! We'll be dreaming of this. If you like the Mediterranean and are living or visiting Seattle, Lola is a must-try! Had brunch here after a 5k walk and while being hungry was a factor we simply ordered and ate a lot of great items. Started at the bar with blackberry lemonade and Olive and fig Lola spreads. The drinks were tasty and the spread didn't have the flavor we both thought it would be a mix of savory and sweet but the sweet won. We then had the dolmades which were delicious and the sauce to dip was creamy and perfect. We ordered some Coffee which was one of the best I've had at a restaurant. Then we ordered lunch. I had French toast with lemon curd, frosted almonds and berries and maple Syrup. Wow so good the toast was crisp outside and fluffy inside. The curd was a perfect touch. My friend had the Sweet Pepper Shakshuka and she loved it. Baked eggs with red peppers, tomato and cilantro. Eggs perfectly cooked and toast to dip into the sauce. I would say it's ok, 3.5 stars. The food is good, but not great. I enjoyed my dinner, but it wasn't anything to call home about. I think what it comes down to is that you're mostly paying for the location here, so set expectations accordingly. Went in on a weekend with a bunch of friends and tried a variety of different things on their menu. We got the mezze platter, chicken kebab, salmon kebab, roast chicken, mashed potatoes and summer squash. Also tried their stranger than figtion bourbon cocktail and their famous made to order doughnuts. My favorites were the dips that came with the mezze platter and the salmon kebab. I wish they would add a side of rice to their mains. The pita bread was a bit hard but was a welcome addition to the meal. I don't like giving out bad reviews but wasn't a huge fan of this place, would not go back or recommend. To preface however: my friends and I went for dinner and it looks like their brunch is more popular. I love greek food and don't mind paying more for nicer meals but I felt like the prices were inconsistent and inflated here. The lamb burger is around $25 and they ask what cheese you want - both people in my party chose one of the options which was a $2 upgrade which they didn't inform them of. The burger was standard, but at least it was decently sized and the best thing with it was the fries and tzatziki. The kebabs start at around $21 and they don't indicate that they are so small - 3 little sticks for the chicken skewer. My friend got an appetizer that was very small of the grape leaves which was tasty but not worth $16. This is definitely a pricey place that didn't make our party feel like we got our money's worth or justify spending more to try more dishes. Service was average, it was nice that they had lots of options for splitting checks. It was loud the whole time we were in there, pretty crowded and a little hard to hear each other, plus pretty dark. Overall would just go to Tanoor for good kebabs (even though slightly different cuisine) or Sahara Mediterranean for value and taste. read more

The food was served hot and the roasted potatoes were so crunchy. The eggs Benedict were delicious and larger portioned than a lot of restaurants in the area which was refreshing. Tea and coffee were both served in pots which they left at our table and were also generous with. The whole space is lit up by the big windows and the tall ceilings help the space feel bigger. What's great on a Friday night was putting our names down and going back in our room upstairs to wait the 20-30 minutes until our table was ready. Lola is a staple - a restaurant that typically makes list after list of "must dine" restaurants as it should. Lola is great - I came here with my mother and cousin as they were visiting and they loved it here. The restaurant became a bit loud to easily hear my mother across the table and our waitress spoke very quietly, but those were the only two downsides. I ordered the shakshuka. I never had this dish before which is basically eggs poached in a tomato sauce with a bunch of other fresh ingredients such as sweet peppers. It looks like it wouldn't be filling, but found that it seemed endless. I swear I ate it with relish but found myself full before a sizable dent could be made. Everything was very good, very tasty. Greek brunch? I have never had that before so of course I had to try on my Seattle trip! I had made reservations prior to save time and I was seated immediately when I arrived. The restaurant is really big and it was already half filled at 10:30 am. While more people kept coming in, the louder it got inside but it was still manageable where you could hear your own conversations at the table. I ordered their Shakshuka and it was magnificent omg my mouth melted as I took the first bite with their buttered toasted sourdough. The roasted tomatoes and spices in this dish was so addicting that I wanted to devour this entire plate. The portion was perfect for one person but honestly you can share it or do family style to try other things too. I was only able to finish half and togo the rest for a light snack later. We went to LOLA last week and enjoyed it! It started off really well, with the salads (Greek salad for me, beet salad for my wife) and the six dips with pita. Those were all delicious!! We also shared the grilled octopus and I got the Greek spaghetti, which were both only okay in our opinion. The octopus (maybe it was squid - I don't absolutely recall) was a bit chewy and bland. The Greek spaghetti was drier than I would have liked and was mostly just feta, basil and cinnamon (maybe allspice) and if that's all it normally is, then that's great, it just wasn't my favorite. My wife had been about 15 years ago and remembered loving it, so she was happy to be able to take me there, and I'm happy to have experienced it with her. I would definitely get the pita and dips again & wspexialt loved the tzatziki, feta and bleu cheese, cauliflower and anchovy (and I don't like anchovy normally). I didn't love the red pepper one, as it just reminded me of salsa, or the Kalamata olive one, as there was just so much olive happening in most of the dishes we chose, but to be fair, my wife loved both. I'm not going to lie, I don't remember what the 6th one was but I did like it. We skipped dessert because we were too full (we definitely had leftovers to bring back to the hotel) but overall I would go again, even if just for the salad, dips, and a glass of wine. read more

I came to Lola for the first time about five years ago. I remember the made to order donuts being the best thing that had ever reached my lips, but specifically the vanilla mascarpone cream that came with it. Fresh and bright and punchy in a way that's so rich you think you don't want another bite, before your tastebuds settle down and you go for another scoop. It was so good it made me write this review even though I knew I'd have to look up how to spell tzatziki. My one fine tune would be the fig and halloumi kebabs. I love halloumi and they provide so much fig the cheese itself felt overshadowed. But this won't stop me from returning and bringing friends. read more

**overall 4.5 stars** This place is great - came here on a Wednesday for an early lunch(?) -brunch or late breakfast and enjoyed the meal. Can't really tell if this is more of a cafe/breakfast/ dinner spot but nonetheless it had great food although a tad pricey . Would come back. Food 4.25 stars out of 5 Octopus hash: I requested an over easy egg instead of a poached egg but it ended up closer to a medium egg (slight jammy yolk but no runniness). Every part of this dish was great. The crunchy snap peas acted as a nice contrast to the chewy octopus. I loved the char on the octopus. The corn went really well with the greens and overall the combination of ingredients went great together. My only nitpick was the Dijon mustard(?) aioli was a bit too heavy handed. I think it was placed too heavily on 1 side of the plate so part of the meal felt like it had a little too much sauce. Shakshuka: My partner got it and said it better than the Shakshuka she got earlier in the week from a larger Seattle brunch spot. I tried it myself and can confirm this is a great dish that has a lot of spices and complex flavorings. The hidden poached eggs in the middle with runny egg yolks elevates the dish. The buttered/oiled sourdough bread acts as a great spoon to soak everything up. Service : 4/5 Standard cafe service, the waitress was nice and would check in on us every once in a while. Man, I'm so glad my wife encouraged going ahead and having lunch here. This was the best meal I've had in awhile. I had the lamb burger, medium well, and it was outstanding--much better than any beef burger I've had in a long time. The fries were also lovely--crispy and well-salted. We ordered the pita with all six spreads, and that was a great choice. I was amazed at the variety and quality of flavors, especially the olive and fig. The dish was a tad over cooked (esp the meat onions). 3/5 - Brussel sprouts. Nicely roasted with candied walnuts and sprinkle of Parmesan. None of to r ubiquitous balsamic drizzle here. Huge portion and tasty. 4/5 - Manti (lamb dumplings). Oz told us that everyone who ordered this dish just loved it. Absolutely- we would have licked the plate if we weren't in public.
