Immediately I knew I wanted to ask Chef Aura if it was possible and if she was available to make them for me. She always responds promptly and told me she can do it! She sent me pictures of the progress and I couldn't wait to see the final product. When the bars were ready, she sent me pictures and it looked so good. Her expertise and professionalism is always on point. On the day of pickup, I met with Aura's mom and she is always so friendly! Thank you Chef Aura once again.

I went in for the penny candy that was sold by the weight. I found some of my long ago favorites and got to do comparisons from then to now. There were so many treats I wanted to buy! The shop is small and well laid out, little mementos mixed in with the sweet treats. The proprietor was stationed behind his counted, dapper in his dress attire, he was kind, friendly and easy going. The owner told me the products were all made locally or within the New England area so they're fresh. The red brick building sits on the edge of a small field with picnic tables and two photos ops, you can be an ice cream cone or take a selfie in the giant Adirondack chair. It was a beautiful day to get some ice cream. The service is walk up, cash only. The red brick the perfect background for the big white signs that list every possible ice cream flavor you can think of. This was the first time I would be getting ice cream that wasn't soft serve. As I tend to do during a scoop shop month, I asked the cashier what her favorite was. She suggested coffee Oreo. A few moments later, I had my cup of ice cream. Creamy, rich coffee flavor and still crunchy bits of Oreo, a more adult version of the classic cookies and cream. It was delicious. There is no doubt I'll be back! Only a matter of when.

The outside shell and the pumpkin inside was packed with flavor. I also really enjoy the graham cracker base. My husband had the yodel ($4.00), a chocolate cake rolled with a buttercream filling and covered with chocolate and sprinkles. He enjoyed his pastry as well. Later that day, I saw Sin posted on their instagram that they were unfortunately closing the retail storefront and going back to focusing on custom cakes and speciality dessert orders. The last day the bakery will be open is Sunday, September 21st. I was so glad I was able to stop by before they closed.

There are picnic tables outside so you can happily eat your ice cream while gazing at cars driving by on Reservoir. Not the most alluring view but they try to make it inviting with flowers in planters. And you have ice cream - so it's all good!
