Venda is great. Most recently came in for RI Food Fights best iced coffee. The coffee is good and Carina waited on us, she was hysterical. My friend added a whipped tiramisu topping to her coffee and it looked great! I also love coming here and getting a bunch of fresh pasta for my parents to try. I almost bought myself potato gnocchi today, but saw it was made with ricotta. Next time I'll stay longer and find some food for me! The bread looked and smelled amazing! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place. I had to place an order to go for a hosting event this week. The people at the deli counter are so helpful and gave me great advice on ideas of what to serve and how to serve it. I ordered a tray of meatballs and an order of the veal with red sauce and peppers. They were both delicious and all of my guests were so pleased. Well my wife and I and a few of our friends went here on a double date on 5/30/2026. We shared a honey hot pizza, some bread and I had a ravioli dish with shrimp, in vodka sauce, with if I remember correctly some lobster stuffing . Bread was about a 6/10 , nothing to write home about . Honey hot pizza was a 7/10 good , but not great . My pasta dish was definitely an 8.4/10, I do remember really enjoying it . Only issue was where they seated us , I preferred the seating in the nicer dining area , but they stuffed us in the deli like some loose salami's , didn't like that at all and one bit ...yes I had a reservation . The 4 star is for the food and service. I just didn't like my deli seating. Whatevs! Will I go back, probably not ,was it good ?? It sure was. Stopped in here for a quick lunch on a time crunch. It's awesome at Venda because you can make your own plate from the prepared foods and they will warm it for you. The woman who helped me out today cut the big meatball in half which I appreciated. So after being disappointed by another place that was closed that sparked my interest to head over to the Hill (Federal Hill)! I walked up and down the street to see what was open and then it hit me. My Grandfather use to take me here on the weekends when I was a kid so I had to head over there and take a walk around and get a sandwich and see what else they had to offer.On to the review! I walked in the store and was greeted with smiles and I walked around and was offered if I needed help with anything. I just walked around for 10 minutes to just soak up all the stuff they had which is like everything! I ended up settling with an Italian Grinder and some Tarrone Italian dessert thing that that my Grandfather loved getting for Christmas time. Itlian Grinder - I have to say the grinder was pretty good ! It had a pretty good meat to veggies to bread ratio! The bread had a crunchy crust but soft on the inside. Tarrone - Just as I remembered from back in the day soft sweet and filled with nuts, O did that bring up memories of being a kid and hanging out with Grandad! Over all, I really enjoyed my time there and enjoyed sitting down eating my sandwich and having some great small talk with a wonderful employee that walked at the register. Brought in by RI Food Fights and I was surprised by the size of these sandwiches. Absolutely huge. That said, so much bread. It's practically a whole loaf. Sadly, it drowned out the flavor of the honey balsamic chicken which I subbed grilled chicken for instead of breaded. The chicken with, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, honey balsamic, lettuce & roasted red peppers sounded really good. I left feeling pretty satisfied, though. Regularly a $15 sandwich, this is a great value. The stuffed quahog is homemade and freshly made and they are not stingy with the quahogs also they are priced very reasonable. The snails are not thinly sliced at all. They don't give you all juice like most places do. If you like snail salad I recommend giving this place a try you will not be disappointed. The food is already prepared you can take it home to cook it or they will heat it up for you to eat it here. Everyone behind the counter has a particular section of food they provide service to. Stopped into the shop to pickup some deli items to go (meatballs, caponata, and ravioli - pumpkin, crab, lobster). All items were fresh tasting and delicious. With my store items secured before they closed, we wandered to the Venda dining area across the courtyard. There was a solo musician to entertain the patios/courtyard diners. We opted for a table in the bar, near the wide-open windows overlooking the sidewalk. What a great place to people-watch and see some of the showy cars roll up for valet. The host and server were kind, obliging, and helpful. We enjoyed (okay, devoured!) the Stracciatella and Prosciutto appetizer: fried dough with a creamy cheese (mozzarella curds/shreds/cream) and thinly sliced cured ham. on this very rainy monday, decided instead of having to get dressed up and eat on fed hill that we would buy some ravioli and sides from here and stay in. amazing idea because their in-house made pastas are actually the best. we got the pumpkin ravioli for $8 a dozen. crab ravioli for about $12 a dozen and lobster ravioli for about $18 a dozen. eating 9 pieces of varied ravioli each making it plenty for 4 people, for a total of $38 is wild. the staff inside were super helpful about pairings and cooking instructions. and i always love walking through this market and perusing their selections. loved the marinated mushrooms and pitted olives too. will do this again many times. totally had gelato first before dinner while in the shop and enjoyed the beautiful ceiling and other store decor. read more

I have been many times but definitely not returning. The person serving stemmed artichokes was making an oily mess on outside of container so I asked him to please wipe it down. Talk about attitude. Then the person serving prepared foods had major attitude and serving food by clumping it with a gloved hand and shoving it into containers. Talk about unappetizing. I asked her to put one order into a larger container and she said no, I will squish it in there. Then after I left, I noticed there was a $1.59 fee on receipt for not paying with cash. It would be nice to advise customers of this hidden fee. The 2 cashiers were the only nice staff members. Definitely gone down hill. I do not recommend this place. read more

Needed a prime rib roast and the butcher went above and beyond helping me. He cut, trimmed, tied me up a amazing roast in the matter of minutes, told me how to cook it and it was perfect, he also helped me throughout the store finding things for me even tho he was busy he helped me, wish all workers were like him read more

Best Italian grinders in the area! A great sandwich starts with the bread, and Venda uses fresh Italian rolls on their sandwiches. They have a choice of a hard or soft roll, and I always go with the hard as you just can't beat the crusty outside and the soft inside. The meat & cheese selections are high quality, and the veggies and balsamic dressing top it off very nicely. But Venda is more than just sandwiches, they have numerous prepared entrees and sides, fresh meats, cheese, olives, etc, and they also have a full Italian grocery store, a coffee bar, and their freshly made ravioli is to die for! The level of customer service, especially in today's day and age when it's really the differentiator that matters most because every penny counts and everything is expensive, no matter where you go. I stopped in because I was in Providence on Friday. It was about 1130 so not quite lunch yet. I walked in the door into the left is where they make the sandwiches. There were a few people lined up there. I never had any intention of getting a sandwich so I moved around the case. I slowly walked the entire case there were probably five people maybe six and that wasn't even including the person in cheese working behind the case. I made it all the way to the other side of the case with no one asking me if I needed any help or if would like to order something. So I headed over to the frozen door section and I grabbed some raviolis. I headed back towards the case starting by the cheese and then getting to the meat. I wanted to buy two steaks. I stood there waiting. There was a gentleman cutting meat with his back to me so I continued to wait. I looked around wondering if I had missed a number system. I didn't see one of those anywhere. I walked back-and-forth a little bit to see if I could catch his eye in his peripheral vision no such luck and then I finally said excuse me. How do I get a couple of steaks and he said oh I can get them I pointed out the two that I wanted and he handed them to me. They were already priced. That was our interaction. I walked back down to the other side of the case because I wanted to get my dad some seafood salad. Two people had their backs to me and they were making sandwiches or slicing tomatoes. I don't even know which one at this point. The boy turned around and smiled at me as the girl was spouting out directions to him. I think she was training him. I waited and waited again and waited, and one of the girls making a sandwich she and I connected via eye contact. She finally came over to do something and I think she acknowledged me. I said to her, I'm wondering if I could get some of the seafood salad she said yes just one second she ended up getting it for me, which was very gracious of her. I then asked her for an item in front of where she was working the piece of lasagna and she said yes just give me a minute which I was totally fine with because at least I knew I had to go wait over there. I didn't find the number of team members that were working to be an issue. I do believe that they were the right amount that being said, I do think that they could be more aware of customers around them or even in front of them or behind them that acknowledgment goes a long way, even if they are in the middle of a task they can say I'll be with you in one second. Furthermore, when I was waiting for the meat, there was a woman that had been sitting kind of diagonal from where the meat part of the case is, she had on a colored shirt and jeans, very peppy and upbeat. I'm assuming because of her demeanor she was a manager or owner. I also think she had an opportunity to acknowledge me as she saw me standing there for quite some time, let's not forget the customers make the business and as everything continues to increase in Price the only reason I will continue to spend $100 for six items granted they are all very delicious is also pairing it with a good experience. That's why people have always come to Venda and I would assume that is how you would like it to continue; strengthen the customer service skill set of your team members. read more

Came in because I saw a feature on social media about their coffee bar. Now I can't speak for the food, honestly it looked really good and I will be coming back to try it. But this was actually the worst coffee i've gotten in pvd. Not sure if it was just a bad batch, but I had to just toss it because it tasted like straight water flavored with a little bit of coffee. Finally got our meals at 730pm. The pasta to the chicken Marsala wasn't not cooked! It was beyond el dente. The vodka sauce pasta was hard. Spent 300 dollars on the worse meals and service. The waiter was just NOT good . Never checked on us. Daughter's boyfriend is a renown chef in Boston. He was shocked at the service and food preparation. He said if it was his restaurant things would have been different. I was looking forward to coming here with great anticipation and walked away extremely disappointed. The pasta was thicker than I thought it would be, the taste was a bit bland but the ambiance was awesome with the live music and the beautiful water fountain it was really nice, the service was ok, it was very busy and we found ourselves trying the wave the waiter for us to order more drinks. Always delicious. Been coming here since as long as I can remember. My grandmother loved the deli and would come here weekly. We sat outside on a busy Sunday afternoon- the place was packed. Luckily they were able to squeeze in our walk in party of 4! We purchased a pitcher of red sangria which was delicious and we then split a pizza, a penne all's vodka, a Cobb salad, and a few other appetizers. Everything was DELICIOUS. We then went in the bakery to buy some of Alicia's famous cookies but unfortunately there were only two left- which we definitely purchased! The food here is always delicious. I have NEVER had a bad meal here. The ambiance on Federal Hill today was electric with families, singles and everyone out!
