Today my two year old daughter Kaia had her very first visit to the dentist. I was a bit nervous but the staff at Lollipop did great. You can tell everyone from the ladies at the front desk to the dental assistants to the dentists - they all really love and are great with kids. They were friendly and gentle with their careful cleaning and inspection of her teeth. Kaia said at the end that she had fun so now she loves going to the dentist. First issue: I rated Lollipop Dental one star. I called Lollipop Dental's Lake Forest branch and requested an appointment for my son's filling. My child has a cavity on his baby teeth. Either you pull the tooth or let the baby tooth to fall out. They intended to place a crown on my son's tooth. Come on, baby teeth don't require crowns. The doctor should have explain to my if my son needs a crown or filling ( crown of the adults are different than children .The second problem. They texted me the amount I owed them after one year. When I called my insurance company, they advised me not to pay them. It is the responsibility of the Provider (Lollipop Dental) to check the patient's insurance before beginning treatment and inform us of the cost. By the way, I used Medical. 3rd Problem: [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked the front desk if I needed to pay anything for my son's treatment. One of the front desk receptionists stated she didn't know. If you don't know, why are you working at the front desk? You must inform the patient of the amount of coverage provided by the insurance , you have to know insurance coverage for the patient, and the amount the patient must pay[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. 4th Problem: All of the Lollipop Dental locations are not doing a good job cleaning children's teeth. If you concern for you kids teeth. I Highly Recommend go Somewhere Else. read more

We went to lollipop dental for our 3 yr olds dental care. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Front staff was pleasant but when the dental hygienist came (assuming bc he didn't introduce himself) he seemed completely ill equipped to handle kids; no distraction techniques, no tv offered, no "let's brush Mr Dino's teeth."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Just wanted us to hold our kid down while he screamed it out. Gave the impression he was too busy or irritated to deal with our little so we left before seeing the dentist. Unfortunately the previous time we went to lollipop dental we sat in a room with out any kid friendly distractions and waited an hour and half to see the dentist without any contact with staff so that wasn't the best experience either. this will be the last time we go to lollipop dental. Going to find a new pediatric dentist that cares to help kids with their dental care. read more

I am a foreign dentist and I did not have a good experience with this clinic. My daughter has two cavities that need to be treated and they asked for permission to use nitrous oxide. On the day of the appointment, when my daughter was already feeling dizzy, the dentist simply did not show up. The assistant kept saying that the dr Pham was on her way, but that never happened. We waited a long time. My daughter, tired of waiting, kept taking the mask off her nose until the gas passed. And the dentist never showed up. They asked me to reschedule the appointment and said that next time, if my daughter did not have any procedure, they would have to charge a fee. How can this be acceptable if the dentist did not provide any assistance and left an assistant in the room who clearly did not know what else to do to help in that situation? The service there is done in bulk, without much experience of the assistants when things do not go as expected. I had already decided not to take my daughter there again -- mainly because she does not want to go back either. But I hadn't called to cancel yet. Then I got a text from them earlier canceling the appointment and suggesting I reschedule with a longer wait time and at another location, which is 45 minutes from my house. I definitely don't recommend this clinic anymore, unless your child just needs a simple routine cleaning. read more
