    3 piece lollipop chicken combo
    Khoa N.

Big shoutout to my server Mike for being incredibly attentive and oriented. He took the time to answer my questions as well. He did a stellar job and I highly recommend y'all ask for him if you come around. The food was delicious! I got the 3 lollipop chicken combo with homemade fries and a soft drink. Recommend the mango sauce! Would definitely come here again for the food alone.

The owners, Sharon and Jeff are amazing and the food.....OMG yes please. The restaurant and bathrooms for spotless. The fried cabbage was spot on. The open faced shrimp Poboy with crawfish étouffée on top was amazing. My shrimp bowl was amazing. I am a very picky cook and I think my stuff is the best ever and I think their bread pudding may be the best I've ever had... even better than mine and I don't say that lightly. We can't wait to come back.

Cheesy overboard with crawfish and catfish, Mac and cheese and red beans and rice

The food was great, music was better, service was top tier!! Got to speak with the owners during our visit as well and hear their story about how lollipops came to be.

Such great southern comfort/soul food in Temple! Everything is made with love and tastes so great, you can't miss on whatever you order! The chicken lollipops are amazing! Poboys are large and flavorful. Gumbo, dirty rice, red beans and rice, fried cabbage, Mac n cheese, fries- everything is made from scratch so it tastes like you are eating from his home! Eat here for a delicious meal!!

What a fabulous place with a staff more friendly than chick-fila. You feel like you sat down at someone's grandmas house to have some of the best home cooking ever! The food was hot and fresh and beyond tasty! A true gem in temple you MUST try!!

I had been hearing a lot about Lollipops in Temple and I wanted to check it out. Well yesterday, I did.. *long sigh* I went in and placed an order to go. The guy behind the register said he was new so I cut him some slack on the order process. I wanted to try the places namesake, so I got the smallest order (3) of lemon pepper chicken lollipops. I was asked if i wanted to make it a combo. I said sure. So I added a side of dirty rice and a sweet tea. I saw that they had cobblers for dessert so I decided to add a blackberry cobbler. The "combo" plus the dessert came out to over $27. Price breakdown: 3 lollipops - $11.99 Added side of dirty rice - $2.99 Added sweet tea - $3.25 Dessert - $6.25 Total with taxes, fees and rounded up tip: $29.00 I feel like I waited longer than expected for my food to come out. I thought, "ok, they're new, cut them some more slack". The waiters did seem very attentive with the dine in customers. It is also decorated very cute inside. When they were wrapping up my order, the guy at the counter says "ma'am I'm sorry we don't have blackberry cobbler. Will peach do?" I said sure. Food review: The sauce on the lemon pepper lollipops was okay. Had a little kick. But I didn't think it was worth $12 for 3. they aren't that big. But had a nice crunch to them even with the sauce on them. The dirty rice. Immediate no. I took one bite and immediately knew something wasn't right. Rice was mushy and it lacked all sense of flavor. Like not even salt. Sweet tea was sweet tea. Little steep at $3.25 for one but we move on. Peach Cobbler. I found it was a little too sweet but that could be a personal preference. Good sized portion though. Overall, I hate to say it but I wouldn't recommend Lollipops. There wasn't a huge variety of items on the menu and I think the prices were too high. For example, the sides are priced at $6-$7 each if not in a combo. I wanted to support a local black owned business but I can't bring myself to go back.

Me and my wife decided to try Lollipops a new black owned restaurant in downtown temple. First things first the service..... nothing less than AMAZING . We weren't only greeted at the door by the staff but we also received the best service we've gotten at a restaurant. Our server was attentive, nice , and offered recommendations on the menu. Along with the great service came a fantastic atmosphere with a great choice of music playing and an overall "smooth jazz" type scenery. It looks as if they even might have live music at times which is also a plus! Now, time for the meat and potatoes...... the food was great to say the least. I ordered the open faced shrimp poboy and cabbage with a sweet tea, while my wife ordered the LP jalepeno and shrimp poboy with dirty rice. The open faced came with shrimp that was fried to perfection and crawfish étouffée that had a perfect combination of flavor and spice, not to mention the portions were absolutely stacked! The cabbage was a fried cabbage that also tasted amazing , well seasoned and mildly spiced. All in all I'd give my order a 9.8/10 DEFINITELY WILL BE BACK AGAIN. My wife mentioned her shrimp and jalapeños were fried and seasoned to perfection with zero complaints with overload of shrimp and quality bread on both orders giving it a 10/10. Great experience at this place and i hope to see them strive in the future . Great staff and wonderful food/service Temple definitely needed this staple!

Wes's has been my grandpa's favorite burger spot for over 20 years, and for good reason. The service and atmosphere are exactly what you want to see out of a burger spot that knows they have top 3 burgers, and has nothing to hide. The onion rings are a must grab and have all of the attributes from crisp batter to an easy pull apart when you bite in. If you haven't been before, now is your sign to run to Wes's.

The Goodnight Burger is simply a 3 patty burger = 1# of beef. The pickles (& I ordered extra) are very slim & the lettuce isn't plentiful. The meat is the star here, nice to have hearty & fresh ground pressed patties without worrying about thin frozen discs. Buns are decent to hold it all. Wes Teeters, the owner that created the name sake restaurant, has retired & sold it to new owners around Christmas 2025. Tater tots were perfect. Waitresses are very nice & helpful & they fixed my bacon situation but I had to ask. If you try Wes's Sauce, it's like a spicy taco or steak sauce, so go lightly at first. Their healthy option is a populated iceburg lettuce salad bar. I was just too full to take them up on the appreciated invitation for pie dessert. Discounted price for cash payment. They do Temple right with their offerings but I wouldn't say it's a decadent place. It's a hometown cafe catering to the locals & that's all right, it's a decent place. Ample seating room with some old style booths. but the plastic chairs feel cheap. Another long-time Temple gem, Old Jody's, is right across the street & still competitive for business. So you have the choice of 2 similar places within 25 yards of each other. Oh, & Grape Kool-aid for the win!

I was looking forward to trying their burgers here as I heard this was their main food. Unfortunately, the burger I had was far below my expectations. It did not compare to some of the fast food burgers I have had. I opted for the bulgogi burger because it sounded interesting, and I tend to like fusion burgers. I could not tell the burger had bulgogi flavor at all. There was just some kimchi on top, which probably made the burger more expensive than the others even though it was just a little kimchi. There was nothing else special about the taste of the burger, and it did not seem worth the $20+. The fries were extremely seasoned, and I was probably the most dehydrated I had ever been from eating fries, but they did taste good. We got a large soft pretzel to share, and it was really fragrant. It didn't have an overly salty taste like many pretzels do.
