Located in a strip mall restaurant near Hester's Crossing in Round Rock, Y'all has been there for the last ten years. The restaurant is a bit dark and dated. The purple padded table tops are rather unique. The menu offers southern "down home entrees". I opted for breaded and fried pork chops with yams and green bean casserole. The side were over spiced but good. The pork chops were tender and not overcooked. Service was ok. Y'all's is closing later this month so hurry over to Y'all's!

Came for the first time for dinner, excited based off the multiple reviews I read but unfortunately didn't have that experience myself. We ordered fried catfish with mac n cheese and collard greens, and the catfish po boy with yams. The catfish platter came with cornbread which I have to say was my favorite thing on my plate. The sides, in my opinion, lacked any strong flavor, and the catfish was fried too hard in that the batter and the fish separated from it and basically just broke down anytime I tried to cut or break a piece off. The portion size was nice in that I had a whole filet I could take for leftovers if I wanted too but overall, I was bit let down by the flavor and cook of our food. Our server wasn't bad but also didn't make any effort to add anything to the overall experience. The restroom itself is casual with Louisiana decor.

There's not a Thanksgiving meal that hits the spot quite as much as the Sunday special at Y'all's. I had such a huge craving for it, so I was pretty bummed when I went and they didn't have it that Sunday. They said they were trying out a gumbo special on Sundays for the month. I went for the grilled catfish atchafalaya instead and wow, I was extremely satisfied with my choice. The fried cabbage never disappoints and the red beans and rice wasn't amazing but overall not a bad choice. In the past, service has left a lot to be desired, but we had such a nice and attentive waitress this time. Will give it a few weeks before I try to go again to see if they brought my turkey back.

Great place to eat meatloaf mashed potatoes and cornbread and cajun corn with a Barbie Bayou to wash it down, New Orleans themed decor on the inside. The service was great, the staff were friendly, the manager went to each and every table to greet customers and asked how's everything.

Its just gets better everytime I come. So today my bae and I took his cousin to dinner and she was so excited to go because its close to her new place. Bae is in love with the cornbread croutons, Cousin is in love with these beautiful lamb chops and the unique sauce that is provided, and I'm really trying to manage my intake so I did the salad and could not finish it with my silly intermediate fasting and pulling back from fried foods however, I love the shrimp on my salad. I did have to take it home to eat for breakfast. I've actually known the owner for quite a few years due to a mutual friend. I love the fact that they give a large amount of vegetables because when you don't make greens, you can go here and order a nice serving of it. The decor and decorations reminds me of New Orleans and the spice and seasonings are mouthwatering! When I'm going from one job to the next, I always pass y'all and think about lunch. I decided to go in after we ate dinner here that week and I had to get the fried gizzards. They did not make it home.

I went to visit my friend in Austin and we went to Y'all's. She said really good things about this place so I was excited! The entire restaurant is New Orleans based so they have Mardi Gras type decor and a tree that apparently stays there year round (I guess that's a southern thing?) It wasn't busy when we went and we had a large party. The wait staff were super accommodating which was really helpful because sometimes large parties can be a lot to accommodate. I got the fried fish that came with a seafood type sauce on the top. It was sooo good!! The fish came with two sides so I got cabbage and mashed potatoes the sides were okay in my opinion.

This was a little place tucked off in the back of a strip center. The people were so friendly. They really made you feel at home. They have a Cajun/ soul food vibe and it was really good. The tables were a little close together , you couldn't help but hear other table's conversations, but fortunately we had a fun group beside that we conversed with at times. We had for an appetizer , fried cornbread croutons. It was delicious. Our table also had bourbon glazed pork chops, chicken fried steak and smothered pork chops. We left feeling full and I even split a plate and we still had food leftover. The wait staff were very friendly and if your server was not available, no worries, everyone helped each other. Please show this place some love and go by and eat. Be sure you get the fried cornbread croutons - you won't be disappointed

11/14/2024: Oh my God! Baby! Y'all's Down Home Southern Cafe was so delicious that it made my soul smile. I was greeted by Mr. Jeff and Jasmine was my waitress. Their customer service is top tier. I always say whenever you're greeted with a nice smile, everything will taste good! It didn't take long to be served after placing my order. Or maybe the time passed by fast because of the grape Kool-Aid that was made with the perfect amount of sugar. I ordered the chicken fried steak, collard greens, red beans and the double crusted peach cobbler. This is the first time that I've never had to add extra seasoning to my food. It was provided but not needed. As I type this I'm still in my car, too satisfied to drive to my destination. Every item I ordered was properly cooked and maybe they added an ounce of love it in too. I ate everything. The restaurant is cozy and has a beautiful New Orleans theme. The only thing I didn't like is I had to leave . I can't wait to dine here again. I wish they had a restaurant in my city. Thank you for the excellent food and exceptional service. God bless.

    Smothered pork chop (Saturday special)

Ate here on a late July Saturday night and had a seriously up and down experience. Let's start with the bad: it seems that staff was completely depleted. The place was busy with a lot of diners, but the service was extremely slow, from waiting for a table, to waiting our server to put in an order, to waiting for the check. We probably spend a total of 2 hours here with just two people. Our server also told us that only one chef was working the kitchen. From the dining perspective, however, the food was delicious. My smothered bone-in pork chop was everything I wanted when I get cravings for southern food. The pork was tender and fatty, and sauce and veggies were addicting, and the sides were so good. Huge fan of their fried cabbage. Cornbread good as I remember as well. And at such a great price. Overall, I would love to come here on a regular basis, but can't justify doing so given how slow everything is. Maybe the wait would be better if you stopped by for a super early dinner ahead of the rush. Hope things get better soon.

Out in the area and wanted something different. WOW! Yeppers reviews were spot on about Y'all's! This was home cooking soul and spice. Portions, huge. The best sweet tea around! This is truly a family mom and pop place and local - love to support that! I was raised very southern and this IS southern. Red beans a rice good and thick and a bit of a kick. Black eyed peas, you can see the bacon! The corn bread buttery and sweet! Catfish perfectly seasoned and tartar sauce home made and perfect with the spices. Their special "gravy" not sure what it has in it but wish I could just have some yeast rolls to sop it up! We will be back!

I've been here so many times and can't believe I've never done a review! The food is delicious and I would definitely recommend trying the food. I've done both--dinning in and take out--and the food never disappoints. I've tried several options on the menu, but my go-to is the meatloaf (at least for right now). The service is really slow like extremely slow, but the food is fantastic. They play good music while you're enjoying your food. There's a bar area with TVs and then there's table seating. I've never sat at the bar, but I've seen it when picking up my to-go order.

Adorable, down home Cajun dining experience. Romantic and delicious! We will definitely be back.

I don't eat a lot of fried food, but sometimes you just go with the flow. Every year, we go through the same routine. Two weeks out: "Have you picked a restaurant yet?" Not yet. One week out: "Any ideas?" Still no. Then, three days before Father's Day...bam...the decision is made! Luckily, this last-minute pick didn't require reservations. This year's winner? Drum roll...The Rolling Rooster. Honestly, you've got to love the name. The Rolling Rooster is located in a strip center at the corner of Mopac and Wells Branch Parkway. It looks small from the outside, but once you step in, it opens up into a surprisingly spacious dining area. It's not fancy, but it has a warm, homey feel. We were greeted right away by Edna, who handled both hosting and serving. She was friendly and welcoming, embodying that classic Texas Southern hospitality. The atmosphere was cozy, with a smooth R&B playlist spinning in the background. As you'd expect, the restaurant focuses on Southern comfort food...think fried chicken, wings, and waffles. The standout for me was the catfish: crispy, flavorful, and coated with a slightly heavier cornmeal crust than usual, which added a nice texture. We both went with the 2 | 2 combo...two meats and two sides...choosing fried chicken wings and catfish. For sides, we had yams, fries, Mac n cheese and my favorite...grits. The food tasted like something straight out of a family kitchen...comforting, hearty, and satisfying. Portions were generous and reasonably priced, so much so that we didn't have room for dessert on the spot. We did, however, grab some banana pudding to go and I'm glad we did. It was absolutely delicious and the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The hubby and I got to enjoy some quality time while he enjoyed one of his favorite meals...a win-win! Happy Father's Day!

My daughter ate half of my macaroni and cheese lol I'd def come back when I'm craving a good soul food meal. I'm interested in trying the other menu items soon.
