Sunday dinner without cooking I enjoyed our meal here. We came on a Sunday evening and it wasn't crowded at all. Our waitress was so sweet and made sure to check on us while managing the front register as well. Shout out to her for working double and I loved her hair (lol side note). The chicken and fish were delicious and cooked well. I enjoyed the greens and glad they were made with turkey. My daughter ate half of my macaroni and cheese lol I'd def come back when I'm craving a good soul food meal. I'm interested in trying the other menu items soon. read more

Nothing turns a stomach more than seeing a dead roach in your food. Dead roaches on the floor and roaches in the food. I stopped coming here because a roach crawled out the kitchen. Waited for two years and gave them another shot and they still have roaches. They gave me a refund in person because their phones don't work. Zero stars do not recommend read more

Rolling rooster has amazing comfort-soul food! When you walk in R&B is usually playing and it's a cozy vibe inside. I'm not out this way often, so when I am I indulge. I ordered the 3 piece, 2 sides and cornbread. The fried chicken was crispy, well seasoned and very fresh! I also ordered a side of greens which weren't as good as the last time I had them but tasted fine. I also ordered cornbread which was fluffy with a hint of sweetness. Service was standard and friendly! They usually have teens working the register or serving and they did forget one of my sides. I got my order to go so I didn't realize until I got home. I'd love to try the oxtails next time I come! The RED VELVET waffles are a must!!!! read more

I ordered through Uber Eats. My taste buds are dancing. Idky it took me so long to try rolling rooster. I got the 4 piece fish with 2 sides. The fish was well seasoned and still crispy even after it being delivered. It wasn't too salty but also not bland/plain. I was also pleased with the size of each piece. (In the picture, I held up some ketchup next to it to show the size) For sides I got sweet potato's and collard greens. The sweet potatoes were the right amount of sweetness and the greens were flavorful and also not bland. I didn't even need to add salt and pepper. I will definitely be ordering again! read more

I went with my wife and youngest son. We really wanted to try the chicken and waffles and were able to sample the chicken wing, chicken tender and fish by ordering one of each as a 3pc & waffle. They were just flat out awesome! We went for a late lunch so there wasn't a crowd at all. Inside was clean and well maintained. The server was attentive. read more

I am so angry right now. I ordered via UberEats and paid $1 extra for lemon pepper seasoning. There was no seasoning on the tenders which were also overcooked. The sweet potatoes that they rave about were absolutely nasty because somebody put a bunch of lemon in them. And the cornbread is stale! I actually thought that because it was a holiday (Resurrection Sunday a.k.a. Easter) that the food would be fresh and it wasn't... not to mention no seasoning on the OVERCOOKED tenders. There's so much inconsistency from order to order with this place it's bananas. Who puts lemon so much so it could be a freaking lemonade in sweet potatoes? JUST NASTY! And UberEats is garbage because they refused to refund the money for the lemon pepper seasoning saying that it wasn't a big deal. I beg to differ because it's the money I paid, and it's the money that I earned and with gas prices and everything being expensive these days, heck even before all of these prices went up a dollar was important to me and they should've refunded it. read more

The atmosphere was a decent vibe.The fried chicken which was bland, candy yams that tasted like the came out of a can with no sauce and you can't for the Mac and Cheese that had 5% chesse and 95% Mac. The Service was decent at first when we came in but after we decided to pack up our food and finish it at home after barely touching the food because it was that bad, the waitress then became rude to us when I asked for the check and to go box's. I don't recommend coming here. read more

My wife and I came in on a Saturday around 4 PM. The restaurant wasn't super busy or anything and we were able to get seated right away. Loved the throwback R&B music that was playing in the background throughout our dining experience. Definitely added to the vibe. The restaurant felt "older" inside. The restroom sticks out to me because of how dirty it was during our visit. It was pretty disgusting. Our server was very nice and attentive during our visit. I decided to order Chicken and Waffles with a side of Baked Mac & Cheese. The Mac & cheese was cheesy & delicious, and the chicken also came out with great flavor and crisp. The waffle was just okay. It tasted like it may have been laying out longer before it was topped off with chicken. It was cold and flimsy when I received it in front of me, which was disappointing. Definitely gives homeyy kind of filling. Good food , good music , good service and all around good vibes . I got the fried fish it was good, but if you like it fried hard, definitely ask for that. The chicken was good but don't inhale the white stuff on top or you'll die (it's seasoning) . Came here for dinner with my boyfriend and I'm so glad I finally got to try this place out. Everything that we ordered was so so good! I got the fried fish with baked mac and cheese for my side and it was really good. The breads on the fish was super crispy! The Mac and cheese was pretty good but it came out and wasn't very hot but still good. The fried pickles here are perfect! Had a good crunch to them without the pickle being limp. They also came out super hot which I loved and the ranch was great. I tried my boyfriend's chicken and waffles and they were super good as well. Only critiques I have was that there was only one server so service was a little lacking. Otherwise I think this spot is great! read more

Not sure if the AC works but felt humid inside and muggy, staff was super nice got me seated quickly. As far as the food it was eh I ordered a lemon pepper chicken sandwich w fries. Could barely taste lemon pepper seasoning the fries had a weird aftertaste not sure what oil they use and the chicken was juicy tho. read more

We are visiting from California and stop by accident and surprise surprise the best cat fish and fried chicken I've ever had moist in the inside crispy on the outside. The potato yams were bomb. The service was great, thee was a young girl going through training and she was very pleasant. The ambiance was casual but very clean which is huge for my husband and I. Small location but very tasty food. We were told to sit wherever we like but it took about 10 mins for a server to come take drink/food orders. Despite that the food came out relatively quickly after ordering and it was hot and delicious. It's not a fancy spot by any means but worth the visit for well seasoned chicken/fish/shrimp. read more

Rolling Rooster has a laid-back vibe, and the staff are friendly. They were multitasking, training someone while taking my order, which slowed things down a bit. I tried their 6-piece fried chicken which was about $20 (with fries and a tea), which felt pricey. But I have to admit, it was crispy and flavorful, with nice seasoning. Still, I couldn't shake the feeling that it was a bit too expensive for what it was. The place itself was cool, with plenty of seating and a bar. Their seasoned French fries were a highlight, they were super tasty. I ordered takeout via Uber Eats. I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, so I was really excited to finally order from here. I also paid extra for delivery so that I'd be the first stop. I ordered the "3 fish two sides" with mac&cheese and collard greens, and the "zesty fries". The fries were all hard as rocks and tasted like old grease. They were so dried out, I honestly believe they'd been sitting out all day. I added a video where I'm tapping the fries on my plate and it makes a hard knocking sound. The catfish was well seasoned, although a bit too salty. I was most excited for the Mac and cheese, but sadly it was bland. Boxed Mac and cheese is better than this. The collard greens were extremely salty and inedible. I don't know if this was an off night, but this was some truly awful food and I don't understand why there are so many 5 star reviews. read more

The service was very good and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We are only in town for a couple of weeks but we've gone back THREE times so far and honestly we plan on potentially going again. The chicken is super flavorful and the waffles are yummy. The restaurant is clean and the music playing is very chill and has a nice vibe. The area surrounding the restaurant is also very quaint, I felt very comfortable dining inside. My husband and I eat here at least 3 times a month the staff is great the food it love old school Kool Aid . The only thing I will mention is the floor is VERY slippery warning someone is going to slip and fall and hurt themselves badly. Just a recommendation to put down more rugs. read more

gross! chicken was not cooked all the way through. Like it was still bloody. When I took it back in the front counter girl says "let me see it" yall no lie she used her ungloved fingers moving the chicken around. The first time coming I dined in food was great!! Service and server was amazing hence why I drove all the way from MANOR. Needless to say I pay that extra $10 for Sips on Wheels! read more

The fish is 1 fillet in 2 pieces, the wings are whole wings, shrimp was jumbo, waffle had 2 different flavor since I wanted to try both. Flavor was okay not the best or the worst. I asked for the extra white powder (crack sauce?) but it seems like I got less. There was a lot of powder sugar on the waffles, is that it? Since the waffle sat under all the fried things it was soggy and flat. price was higher than expected but everywhere is going up. I heard they have HH and DJ nights, will maybe come back for that. After a 3.5 hour movie (Lord of the Rings Extended Edition), we were starving and our friend recommended The Rolling Rooster. He mentioned Chicken and Waffles and I thought to myself, when was the last time I had Chicken & Waffles? So we were all in! It's located off of Mopac and there's plenty of parking since it's located in a plaza. We walked in at around 4pm and the place was pretty empty - with people coming in for pickup orders though! We get seated, greeted right away, and are brought our drinks shortly after. The menu was given and my eyes were drawn to the Chicken & Waffles section. I opted for the 2 Piece Tenders with the Honey Hot Sauce. We didn't wait long for our meal, but it was a bit warm in the restaurant which made it a bit uncomfortable on a hot Texas summer day. Once the food arrived, I poured everything on my Chicken&Waffles and took a bite and soaked it the flavor. I enjoyed the mix of savory spicy and sweet, but did feel like maybe I could have done a different sauce or an additional sauce even! I wonder what's the right combo? The waffles perhaps could've been more fluffy and warm and the tenders were just okay! We spent about $37 for myself and my husband, he got the 3 tenders and waffles with the Mac and Cheese side and both of us had a drink so I don't know? I think it might've been on the pricier side. Another observation was that they had plastic cutlery which I was a bit disappointed about. All things considered, we still enjoyed our meal, the staff/service was great, the R&B throwback music had us reminiscing, but perhaps I'd like to check out other places before coming back. read more

This is my second time here at The Rolling Roster since 2019 and the service is still outstanding. Our waitress Taeya was AWSOME! With excellent personality plus and totality knowledgeable of the menu. For starters we had an order of Gizzards. For the entree we had the number 2 sampler that comes with 2 wings, 2 fish 2 shrimp. Also, we ordered hot wings with hush puppies, an order of chicken tenders, macaroni and hush puppies also, aka carte fish, shrimp and macaroni. For desert one peach cobbler. We're here from California and had to return for some good soul food. The food was severed heat hot and seasoned. Mmmm good. We will be back again. read more

Walked into a friendly greeting from the host and got sat swiftly. Offered drinks soon as we sat and returned with drinks ready for our order which is picture perfect. Ordered Sampler D 2 Wings 2 Fish 2 Tenders 2 Sides : 3 piece tender + red velvet waffle* : and 10 piece (5) lemon hot (5) buffalo a la carte chicken wings. I've had the rolling rooster millions of times and their fish & fried chicken are consistently delicious! therefore, with it being like a southern table, I expected them to have delicious banana pudding... oh boy was I wrong. I drove here specifically for banana pudding as I excepted it to be homemade; it was not. Just watery, artificial mess with no bananas! I'll be back for the food but I will never be ordering banana pudding from here again. read more

Some of the best chicken I've had so far , we ordered chicken and waffles , mine being regular while my wife's was honey bbq. Chicken was crispy and well seasoned while the waffles was light and fluffy and didn't easily become soggy . The service was very attentive and she tended to us quickly and effectively. went in on 3/11/26. food was really good and everything was cooked perfectly i got the sampler 2 wings 2 fish and a waffle i wanted to try the waffle i love a good chicken waffle combo but i think next time ill try their sides instead. waffle was delicious but i personally prefer a crispier texture. our server was really nice and answered any questions we had and she checked on us often. the music was a vibe and we enjoyed hearing some 90s R&B we haven't heard in awhile so ambiance 10/10 we will definitely be back ! read more

The restaurant is clean and spacious and you order by scanning a QR code. The waitress was friendly and she brought us water fairly quickly. The garlic Parmesan fries are a must order and they were expertly fried and had a spectacular crunch and texture. The garlic was very balanced and not overwhelming, and they were super generous with the amount of Parmesan. The chicken wings were also equally amazing with a super crunchy, light batter, well seasoned chicken and the sauces were delectable. I really liked the honey garlic Parmesan because it is unique and not something I've had before. The sweet soy was also nicely balanced and paired well with the wings. The Ruma's chicken crispy pops was good, but I wish the pieces of chicken were slightly bigger so that the ratio of batter to chicken would be less overwhelming. The sauce was more sweet than spicy and it would have been better if they added a Mala spice component. My diagnosis: come here for exceptional Korean wings and craveable garlic fries
