    Custom cake

So talented! AWESOME customer service. This is the second time I've sent a photo request for a custom cake and they exceed my hopes. They're amazing with customer service as well. I love this new spot in my neighborhood!

    Tres leche flan
    Monica L.

The tres leches flan was super super indulgent and satisfying, loved the soft mushy tres leches cake part combined with the custardy part of the flan, and the thick caramel top coating brought it all together! It is a lot for one person, and gets probably too sweet after several bites, but perfect to share with a friend

    Baby shower Tres Leches cake.
    Mark H.

I wanted a Tres Leches baby shower cake for a co-worker. I found Lolly's on the internet. I placed the order with very friendly staff. I let them know it was for a baby shower and wanted blue for a boy. The cake I received was beautiful! Everyone praised the cake. The mother-to-be was very happy. The cake was delicious and enjoyed by all. I would recommend this bakery for the friendly staff, beautiful decorating, and delicious cakes!

    Pan de queso. So good.
    N K.

I live around the corner and love popping into this place. I'm obsessed with the pan the queso (bread in a large donut shape) and the various breads. Sometimes I don't know what I'm getting, but that's part of the fun. The staff is very sweet.

I moved to East Boston about 3 years now. I rarely go out in East Boston but today my roommate recommended me this place. I'm thrilled about it and can't wait to return. 1. This is a small bakery. Because of Covid you may find a short line when you get there. 2. The pastry is inexpensive compare to a lot of bakery places in Boston but the quality is equivalent. You're looking around .50-.60 cents a piece. 3. I personally think this is one of the best bakeries in town considering their price.

Tasty treats at affordable prices. One area of improvement will be to label each item with ingredients and price.

I know there is a competition between Mike's and Modern about who has the best pastries, but Mike wins if you want flavored cannolis. Any flavor you can think of is posted on the walls. I tried the butter pecan and the Dubai chocolate, but I was blown over by the Dubai chocolate. My wife also prefers the macaroons and other cookies at Mike's. Cash only, but the prices are good. Mike's goes crazy with the string when they tie up the boxes...I guess that's a Boston thing. We came back on a rainy day and were able to order right away. This place is worth a visit.

It's probably because it's a block from the Freedom Trail near Paul Revere's house and popular Italian restaurants and shops. If you see people walking around with a white (multiple cannolis/desserts) or blue (single cannoli) box tied with string, you know you must be nearby a Mike's Pastry. Though the line gets long, it does move quickly, and there are periods where it's not so crowded inside. It's cash only at this location. I didn't think I'd be here that day and realized I didn't crab enough cash but saw the sign for Uber Eats and GrubHub pick up, so I just placed an order for pick up from my phone on Uber Eats. It took about 5 minutes when I got my cute blue box order. There is a Bank of America down the same street if you need to withdraw cash which I later did. I'm sure there's also ATMs nearby. I think it's easier and quicker to order through Uber Eats or GrubHub and pick up. I've been here once before about 12 years ago. I tried the pistachio cannoli that time and loved it. This time, I wanted to try a different flavor, so I got the hazelnut cannoli. It didn't have the nuts I was expecting from the photo on the wall. It didn't quite taste like hazelnut to me at all. I regretted not trying something else. I eventually did at Hub Hall (another food hall) connected to North Station. This location is a little more expensive by $1-2 for cannolis compared to the one in Hub Hall and sells other desserts like turnovers, donuts, croissants and sticks if you don't want a cannoli (but then why come here for anything else?) There's also nowhere to sit.

The cupcakes arrived on time as expected and were packaged securely. It included two spoons along with a flyer card giving brief instructions to eat within 7 days or freeze. For the flavors of cupcakes, I chose their Chocolate Sea Salted Caramel and The Wicked Good. To be honest, I had a hard time choosing due to various negative reviews on the cupcakes and flavors. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the ones I had. Let's just say, I dusted both jars of cupcakes in one sitting. The Wicked Good i'd say lives up to its name. When people say it's not overly sweet, it's true. It's hard to explain that goodness until you've actually tried it for yourself and then it'll all make sense. If I had to choose between the two on what I would reorder, it would be The Wicked Good. I mean, don't get me wrong, the Chocolate Sea Salted Caramel was perfectly moist and had a nice balance of that sea-salted caramel flavor throughout. It tastes even better with vanilla ice cream and would be perfect for any chocolate lover. I will say though, these jars are pretty pricey. However, they do make great gifts! From what I'm aware of, they were recently acquired by Hickory Farms as of 2021 and are not sold in retail stores. They do have a cupcake truck in Fort Wayne, IN if you're in that area and looking to try them out. Overall, I thought the cupcakes were good. Happy to have tried these at least once. I just wish the jars were larger like pasta sauce jars ;)

He was homesick and feeling alone so I thought this would cheer him up. Well, I was let down...I was able to choose the delivery date and the website stated that I would receive a shipping confirmation when the items were shipped and when it was delivered. I did not receive such email. I had to reach out to the company and find out what was going on. I was told via email that my shipment wouldn't arrive until the day after my requested date. I was upset and very disappointed. I thought that this company was based out of Chicago, why did my shipment ship from Pennsylvania??? Is that why it took an extra day to arrive? Had I known it was shipping from Pennsylvania, I would have added another day for it to arrive on time. After going back and forth via email, the customer service representative apologized and issued a refund of my shipping cost. It was a nice gesture however it did not make up for the fact that it arrived the day after the intended delivery date. I expected a full refund. My son is without transportation and had to walk a ways to receive his package so this was a HUGE inconvenience for him. Thankfully he finally received his birthday cake and was happy. He shared with his roommate and enjoyed the cakes. From the looks of the video he sent me, it seems like they were very pleased with these cakes. Would I order from here again? Probably not. Just be aware that shipping may take longer so if you do order from here then add at least a couple days more just in case. Customer service was nice via email. I wish I could have given this place a better review.

Sometimes when it comes to truffles, you'd expect artificial flavors -- that is absolutely not the case here! The pistachio was nutty and truly had the flavor of salted pistachios, which is my family-favorite nut... so I'm pretty pretentious about my pistachios. This chocolate was probably the best and most well-done pistachio sweet I've ever tried. The carrot cake took the flavors in a carrot cake, but the flavors were distinct and clean. Both were fun and also beautifully presented. Each truffle was a little over $3. You can buy individually, pick a selection for a box set for gifts, and there are some chocolate bars too. The lady who helped me was nice & has a smart, relaxing presence. I assume she was the owner/chocolatier. If you're in the area during open hours, definitely make a visit. I'd recommend looking up their hours, I've passed by multiple times and it's usually closed in terms of my own schedule. Or just make it a destination to try over the weekend. Awesome for gifts.
