Good food and good beer. However, we moved from inside to outside when a table opened up to have one more beer. No one came to our outside table to take our order. I walked over to the server station and asked for someone to come take our drink order and we waited another 10 minutes. When no one ever came over we left. No reason for poor customer service. We loved it here! The food was fantastic, we were really impressed and the experience was great. The inside of the building is unique and has lots of beautiful woodwork. However it was very busy when we went and it was really loud inside. Thankfully our server let us move to sit outside so shoutout to our server (I think her name was Alex) she was awesome. Lolo Peak Brewing is in such a nice building. Their patio is also fantastic. The staff was honestly so kind. Our waitress let us try a handful of different samples of beer, which is always great. We ended up getting the No Salmon Pale Ale and the Alpenglow Wheat Ale. They were both decent, though I like other beers from local Missoula Breweries more. We also got a side of their shoestring Fries. They describe them as "potatoes fried crisp & seasoned just right" and oh-boy, they aren't lying. The seasoning was wonderful. They were so good - maybe even better than the classic McDonald Fry! We had a great experience at Lolo Peak Brewing with decent beer, fast wait time and excellent fries. I stopped by here earlier today with my wife and her parents for a drink. We were driving to Travelers Rest whenever my mother in law spotted a sign for the brewery. While I originally had no intentions of visiting a brewery on this day, the happy coincidence led us to visit. The inside of Lolo Peak brewery is actually quite cool and done in a lot of different woods. I mean everything from the floor to the seats and tables are some type of wood. There are two floors here with indoor seating as well as outdoor seating on both floors. I decided to go with a flight on this day and when given then option of 4, 8 or 12, sadly chose 4. My coworkers who I sent a picture to would give me crap for this but with a marathon the next day it was a prudent choice. The beers that I chose were the IPA, a huckleberry saison, a scotch Ale and an ESB. All of the beers were representative of their types with my favorite being the saison. For some reason the huckleberries worked super well with the wild yeast from the saison. The bottom line for me is that I would visit here again in the future. Next time I would get the 12 beer flight but even so the atmosphere was nice and the beers tasty. read more

We've eaten at LPB several times now, over several years. The quality of the food is not near what it was the first year LPB opened. Even the French fries are now meh. My real gripe is this: The first three pages of the menu are drinks, without a single indication of size of pour or price! There are no prices. You're supposed to either guess, or ask your server. I asked my server, and she couldn't give me a price without checking at the register. Funny thing, the next three pages of food items all have prices listed. One other caveat to selecting this place, there is a 3.5% surcharge if you pay by card, those same cards that every retail institution has been training us to pull out in lieu of cash. read more

We were looking for a warm lunch and a cold beer after a day of fishing and boy did this place hit the spot. Our server was lovely and made great recommendations. All four of us got different beers and everyone loved what they ordered. Same goes for the food. My Ruben was delish and big enough to bring home leftovers. The sides of home made pickles and beer battered onion rings were divine. The biggest surprise was my husband's fried rice with jerk pork-- everyone agreed it was amazing and this is coming from Angelenos who did not expect good Asian food of any kind in Montana. Ambiance was on point as well. I loved sitting at the beautiful wooden tables and staring out at the scenery through the tall windows. Even the bathrooms had unique stone floors that reminded me of a Montana riverbed! They really got the decorating right here. If we were locals, this would definitely be a repeat place for us. My wife & I came here for the first time last night. We decided to try an appetizer and couple of entrees instead of the burgers. I had the braised pork belly w/ Brussel sprouts and my wife had the stroganoff. The appetizer we chose was the Nashville chicken strips w/ house made pickles. The chicken had just the right amount of heat & the pickles were fresh and complimented them well. The entrees were equally EXCELLENT & seasoned perfectly. The stroganoff was hearty but not too rich. The pork belly was tender & served with a Korean style bbq sauce. My favorite part was the brussel sprouts. All in all those were two fantastic comfort food meals. Staff was friendly, made great suggestions and were attentive. I wish we had come sooner! read more

We came here on 3/28/19 when we got into town because of the yelp reviews. We had a party of 5 3 adults, a 13 year old, and a 10 year old. We were sat on a side full of little kids next to a door that goes outside. The waitress came to our table and the family behind us interrupted with something they needed. We also could not hear each other talk because of how loud the kids kept screaming. They were having a screaming contest. My son got a lemonade that was very sour. I ended up pouring out half and putting water into it to make it taste better. The rest of our drinks were great. Loved the cider. We had been there 30 minutes before our order got taken. My son ordered a Burger with fries. The burger was too fancy for him. But he loved the shoe string fries. My daughter and I split a Cobb salad and buffalo drum sticks. I assumed it was just regular franks sauce with ranch drizzled on top of the drumsticks. My daughter and I love buffalo wings but these were so hot we were sweating. We had to ask for more water a few times and drenched them in ranch. So if you love super spicy get them. We loved the salad. My mom got the coconut shrimp and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere here is awesome. Everyone seems in a great mood, probably because the beer is so good. The brewery features a really neat outdoor seating area, as well as wonderful views of the town from the upper seating level. Be sure to check out the bar, as it's designed to look as if a river is flowing through it. The service was quick and polite. I would recommend either the porter or the light lager, as they both have real flavor to them. You can also get the Sampler, which gives you a small glass of all the beers crafted there. They also make sodas for the ones too young to drink. read more

Beautiful new building.. cathedral ceilings, large beams and plenty of natural light. Stopped in during lunch time earlier this week and was greeted with a friendly server who checked several times to make sure he had the order right. The menu was decent for "bar food" although a brewery is a bit different than your average bar. The front of the menu was all very in depth descriptions of their featured beers and for the solids.. an ala carte antipasto menu along side BBQ style dishes mixed with some nice sounding salads and sandwiches. I should mention I had their Old Toby Porter. It was a good beer. 4 out of 5. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad (one of my Iron Horse favorites) and the slider sampler as an appetizer. This consisted of BBQ Pulled Pork, MT Beer Braised Beef, BBQ Bison, Buffalo Chicken and Black Bean. My man ordered the Siracha Honey Mustard drumsticks. Food was out fairly quickly. The salad was okay, the chicken was shredded, which was a surprise. The flavor was mildly "buffalo", definitely could have had a little more heat. Lots of fresh veggies. I was disappointed that the greens weren't tossed in the ranch dressing, rather the dressing was drizzled on, leaving the majority of the salad dry. The plate was small for the size so I couldn't really mix it around. I think with a few adjustments (more kick in the buffalo sauce, more sauce with the chicken and tossing the salad in the dressing prior to serving and I wouldn't call it underwhelming... but since that wasn't the case.. it was a bit underwhelming. Not bad, but far inferior to my go-to buffalo chicken back in Missoula. 3 out of 5. The sliders were... sliders. The BBQ Bison with fried onion rings was good. The pulled pork was Ok. Same sauce as the bison so it was redundant. The buffalo chicken was the same kind of dry shredded chicken that came on the salad.. not spicy enough to be called "buffalo chicken" in my opinion. The black bean was.... a patty of basically unseasoned (or so lightly seasoned I couldn't identify a flavor) black beans. It was suppose to be topped with some kind of salsa, but they must have forgotten it. The slider buns were plain toasted but still, as the norm with sliders, there's more bun than filling so unless you're dealing with some fancy bread.. they were still underwhelming. Not bad at all.. just not amazing. 3 out of 5. My sweetheart's drumsticks were succulent, they were cooked well, large, lots of meat, moist.. falling off the bone. He gave it a thumbs up. Said more sauce could have been put on afterwards so it wasn't just a cooked-off glaze and he would have enjoyed more. He gave them a 4 out of 5. Soooo.. ambiance 4.5 service 4.5 beer 4.0 food 3.3 I think with a few tweaks it could easily bump up to a 4. I'll definitely give it another go. If I was going by my own averages it would have been a 4 but I think the ambiance score can't be weighted as much as the food, so that brought it down. I'd say a solid 3.75 for me. read more

Great space, very "Montana" (friendly, rustic, and easygoing). I rode a bicycle from Missoula to this place. Aside from the ride being absolutely gorgeous and peaceful, this was a perfect place to stop before my return trip to Missoula! Warm, inviting and very bike friendly. It was clean, nice bathroom (long bike rides welcome nice bathrooms), and offers a beautiful view. Outside seating is available as well, but it was pretty chilly. Good size selection of beers on tap and a nitro. I had a bison burger and pickled beets. Smallest tip I've left in many years. Service was lacking, wait staff could only work 1 table at a time, forgot things and took forever to get anything. Now for the food. Average at best. We had four 15 dollar burgers and fries...did they taste like 15 dollar burgers? No no no. For the price you pay, the food better be really good and the service needs to be what you'd expect for the prices. Then to top it off they will charge you an additional 3% service fee for credit cards....premium price and then nickel and dime you. Just on principle that sort of pisses me off. We've been going for a couple of years, the place has been steadily going downhill. We'll be throwing our wallet down at the Backyard Taphouse in Florence going forward. read more

I was by myself and was treated like I was a burden to Jered the bartender when he dropped my food off he was talking to someone else sitting at the bar not bothering to ask if I needed anything else. Then I had to flag him down to get a ticket and a box and he again was talking to someone on the phone when he dropped them off. So 8 of us stopped in on a recommendation from a local. I had a sampler that was pretty good but we didn't eat or order more beer and ended up leaving instead. We had a party of 10. So we sat in the very large, very windy back yard area and a few of us lit cigars and then ordered beers. There were NO other customers out there when we got there. Later, two people came and sat across the yard and then we were told we'd have to put our cigars out or smoke on the other side of the fence. A 3 foot high, open wire mesh fence. Really? That's the solution? So we left and took our business to another brewery. Disappointing. I'm sure we could found a solution, but they apparently didn't need our business. read more

Bar food that includes kale and beet salads, fresh rounds of beer on rotating taps, and a slick-looking interior space with gleaming wooden surfaces and vaulted ceilings make Lolo Peak Brewing a bit of a Montana craftbrew road trip destination. It's not that there aren't alternative options around - there are, thanks to the current microbrew renaissance - but there is no real reason to leave Lolo Peak out of that list that stretches from nearby downtown Missoula all the way to distant(ish) Hamilton heading south on US-93 down the Bitterroot. The mix of people - ages, genders, drinking styles - on a recent weekend afternoon visit was pretty wide. The music wasn't too loud, the service was friendly and prompt, and the pint price was right. I wasn't out for anything elaborate, just a salad and dark winter seasonal beer, and I got that, and more, for around $ 15. Sometimes the best way to judge a brewery is what it feels like visiting solo, when you aren't distracted by friends, dates, or family. You pay more attention to the beer in the glass, the food on the plate, and the people on both sides of the bar. In 21st century Montana, every town needs an above-average craft brewery on its Main Street, a half-dozen or so if you're a Missoula, Bozeman, Great Falls, or Billings, a decent-sized handful if you're like Lolo, Stevensville, Hamilton, or Whitefish. I like the fact that LPBC is here, at the end of US-12, so that I can wash off the road dust from the drive over Lolo Pass from Idaho. It's easy to come here for a quick pint, a clean bathroom, a nice community-friendly vibe, and a decent in-between mealtime menu. Count me as an appreciative fan! read more

This place is trying too hard to be cute-rustic and makes me feel like I am in some chain brewery out in Colorado selling $9 beers on the slopes -- without the views. The beer is poorly made (2nd tasting since opening): flat, lacking flavor and with muddy overtones. Went with a larger group this time, and while the service was good, everyone thought the beer is pretty mediocre. If you like mediocre beer, then don't go to places in the Bitterroot Valley like the Bitterroot Brewery in Hamilton, or the Blacksmith and Wildwood in Stevensville, you'll be disappointed by good beer. If you like mediocre beer try the Higher Ground in Hamilton as well, you won't be disappointed. read more

This is a great spot to grab a beer! The owners have done an amazing job decorating. Make sure you check out the custom "river runs through it" styled bar. Great service even though it was pretty busy when we stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. Cool outside space with trees, grass, a volleyball net, and several other games set up. The beer was tasty. I especially liked the Nitro Loulou Amber. The Old Toby Porter is tasty as well, and would be even better on a snowy winter evening. Being a local of Missoula and being spoiled with all the great beer in town that we have. When I herd of a new brewery that opened up in Lolo, I had to go check it out. The inside was very spacious and open, great service from the bartender. Ordered the flight of 11 beers. The LouLou Amber Ale was one of my favorites there. Also had the Buffalo sliders ( fresh ground bison, old Toby porter bbq, cheddar cheese and crispy onions with fries. The food was good, was a little dry tho. Had to ask for some more BBQ sauce to make it hit the spot. The brewery has a great view that makes it worth going to and drinking some beer. Over all pretty chill brewery..always nice to see more breweries popping up around Missoula. read more

Delicious beer, tasty food, decent service. I like sitting on the outside patio. Inside, the decor features stained concrete floors and a beautiful bar that looks like a flowing river. The beer is strong. They limit you to three pints. Try the full flight to decide what you like. Volleyball court outside, as well as an upper deck and private function room.
