This store is bigger than some of their other stores. There are other services available such as key cutting, a post office and Translink bus tickets which is convenient. However, there are a few exceptions when a couple of the staff members go out of their way to help. This is the only drugstore in the area, so not any real competition. read more

Cancelled items (without warning), lack of availability, low stock, incorrect images for items -- it's all very annoying. I know this is a "first world problem" but how long have these fellas been in business? Sorry. I won't be shopping at London Drugs anymore, online or offline. I don't trust them. I get better service from small mom & pop shops, and the prices are similiar. I apologize if I've been too harsh here, but I'm just letting people know what's up. Any London Drugs that I go to when they say 1 hr photo they don't mean it. It's pretty much false advertisement. There is no such thing as 1 hr photo. I hear it all the time that there are x amount of people in front of me and would take like 2 hours earliest. Well I got them to rush it for 1.5 hrs. But there are no guarantee. It's pretty slow service. London Drugs staff can be rude at times. They have good photo finishing but it's just annoying how the advertise 1 hr photo when it's not even close. No such thing. I mean why would they put up such a big sign saying that when it's not. Such liers. I never find the prices that great at London Drugs. This London Drug is close to My work and home it's like in the middle. But again it's also the least busiest London Drug compared to its closest one on Cambie. Today I had a tech appointment to replace my iOS 8+ battery and to do the cleaning on it. I went with my boyfriend and we gave them his cell to call once ready xxx. We received a call around 2:41pm and said we were across the street and coming immediately. We arrived to find the tech hadn't waited and instead went for lunch. The extremely flustered other employee Joseph c retrieved the phone and would or could not answer any iPhone screen protector questions (not related to the repair) and was extremely short with us. We received no info other than the receipt-no instructions on charging or info on warranty of install etc. I made it clear I was just asking the options as he worked there (not something setup by the tech) but he refused to talk at all during our payment. He seemed overly uncomfortable with our visit and kept saying he wasn't the tech so he didn't know. His name tag said "tech specialist". We left with the phone renewed but wondering why an employee would behave thus. read more

Out of all the LD's out there this is the one that I have had the worst luck in in terms of customer service, what's with the attitude?

Reviewing London Drugs in Vancouver is kind of like asking "do you like the sun?" LD, in all locations, is kind of a catchall from great cereal sales, to computers, to cleaning products. The sales are always good, the prices are rarely higher than average and usually competitive. I do not want to live in a city without London Drugs. In this location the staff is a bit quirky,.. but I really just need a fast checkout and get it plus a royal bank machine is always a bonus. read more

I like to buy things at London Drugs especially the items on Sales. They carry a lot of flavours for nature's path organic cereal and granola were on sales $7 for 2 or $3.99 each which much cheaper than Choice. BE a smart consumer, just check out the weekly special and get things here. read more

I do like London Drugs, and try to visit one each time I visit Vancouver. They have a lot of good tea and foods that I take back to the states with me. Plus they do not charge me for a bag,if I do not have my forever bag with me. They have some really good sales, and they carry almost anything you could want or need. However, my only complaint is the customer service. Sometimes the people working there are fantastic! But, as this visit,they are nasty creatures. It was not just me either our cashier was rude to. The woman in front of me was actually treated worse than we were. But, Jesus don't let the devil steal my joy. I guess everyone is not happy all the time. This is true. I received a letter from Derek McCoy, General Manager, Insurance and Warranty Division of the Insurance Services Dept. of London Drugs, addressing me as a "Valued Customer" and inviting me to re-new my car insurance with them. When I went in on November 25th, I felt anything but a valued customer. My husband and I lined up with our documents on hand while the agent tended to other customers. She turns to us and tells us that she will not be able to help us as she was closing at 6PM. I looked at my watch and the time was 5:40PM. I said "it's 20 to six" to which she responded "well, I have three other people ahead of you. You can come back tomorrow." When I walked past her counter again no more than 2 minutes later, there were only 2 other customers which meant she had 20 minutes to deal with three customers including myself. If customers are lined up at your counter prior to your published closing time, you should tend to them regardless what the time is. Would it be considered acceptable for one of the cashiers to turn away a customer with 5 minutes to closing because there are 3 other customers ahead of them? If London Drugs accepts this type of behavior from their employees, then please do not bother calling me a "valued customer" because you obviously do not value me as a customer. Mr. McCoy, I will not be purchasing insurance from you until you train your insurance staff how to value your customers. My husband and I have been purchasing insurance from you for the past 3 years for the convenience, and now that the convenience factor is gone, I will be shopping for my insurance needs elsewhere. read more

Love LD, maybe I was spoiled by the two other areas I lived in as they had great LD's, but this location could use some help. They have some unhappy staff who I've seen be super rude to customers, not sure if it's a training issue or management issue, most of the staff is great. It's almost impossible to find staff help if you need it, when I've needed assistance taking something down from a top shelf or looking for items, have waited over 30 minutes each time; front desk was great about calling for them, but more staff is needed. Ditto in the computer department, took a while to get assistance. Twice I've been there to buy larger items that the website listed as in-stock, only to find they were out (staff was good to check, figured it was an inventory issue as entire cases were missing). I still frequent this location as it's nearby, and keep my fingers crossed that things will improve. read more

It is so much easier and cheaper for me to get the things I need from other stores. However, from time to time, I go into London Drugs. And if I go to London Drugs, I most likely have to go to the Post Office or to grab something quickly. And usually, if I go in to go to the Post Office or have to grab something quickly, then I have to get a $21 pass for the Transit. When I get in line for the Transit pass, I have to get a Dark Chocolate Aero bar that they sometimes have in the front. And, if I get a Dark Chocolate Aero bar, I usually will have to get another one to share with Kwokmun. If I bring home one to share with Kwokmun, then he will most likely want me to go back to London Drugs. THE END BTW - The staff are always nice. (10/30) read more

London Drugs definitely knows how to hire and trained quality computer Department team members. I recently bought ink for an Epson all-in-one printer and scanner I bought a London Drugs a few years ago I love. After installing one cartridge I was still having printing problems and noticed the other Epson application set the remaining cartridges still had lots of ink. I went to Best Buy on my lunch break and talked to their staff wasn't too confident with what they said. I went to London Drugs thinking I needed to buy a new printer after my Best Buy in counter. The London Drugs employee gave me some troubleshooting tips and said for 90% of his clients that solves the problem. I tried what he said and it worked. Thanks for the great service. read more

I have purchased a bit of everything at this particular London Drugs: an LCD tv, a camera, passport pictures, toner cartridges, kitchen appliances, small electronics, housewares, office supplies, holiday decorations, toys, dog supplies, health & beauty supplies, cosmetics, food, vitamins, greeting cards, books & magazines, bus tickets and prescriptions. Their prices aren't always the cheapest but there is something to be said for being able to purchase almost everything under the sun in one location and getting free underground parking to boot. Customer Service is consistently quite good and a lot of employees, particularly in the camera and electronics departments, have gone the extra mile for me. The store is popular, therefore quite busy, so lines at the cash registers and in the pharmacy can be longer then I would like. read more

I've made several bigger purchases from London Drugs' camera department (Olympus XZ-1 from the Pacific Centre location, Pentax K-5 kit with WR 18-55mm and 50-200mm lenses, accessories, etc. from the Broadway & Vine locatiion.) With the Pentax gear, I went for the extended warranty. I am not a novice photographer, but the dSLR I bought at LD was my first. I went in having done my own research. Their camera staff are reasonably knowledgeable about their gear, given this is a 'drugstore' ... if you phone around, you'll find staff in other LD locations who are thoroughly knowledgeable about particular models and features. The 'first' K-5 body I purchased here had an issue with the mirror locking up in LiveView, which the sales staff dealt with immediately within the 15-day store return period. They were out of stock when I contacted them, but as soon as more stock arrived, they performed an exchange, no questions asked. As it turns out, there is a known issue with some of these cameras, which is well-documented in the user forums online. As well, I've been a loyal patron of their Photolab. (Disclosure: I have a photography degree and used to do my own printing.) Even back in the days of film photography, once I discovered LD's photolab services and the quality of their prints, I have never, to my recollection, gone anywhere else for snapshots. Today, on Christmas Eve, I picked up a 16x20 print that was ready at noontime, from an order I placed online just the night before. The staff told me normally this would have been a 48-hour turnaround order, but they rushed it at my request, no extra charge. The cheerful clerk even applied a $3 discount at the till! (After I picked up my photo print, I took it to a framer for window matting, as LD did not have large window mats for this size of print. My sister-in-law, the gift recipient, will need to have it framed after Christmas.) Price-wise, one should keep an eye open for their sales and specials. Quality of their photo services is top-notch. On the service side, I think their staff has been more than excellent, and I don't hesitate to recommend shopping here. read more

I like London Drugs and go there often. The only complaint I have (and others often standing in line with me) is that the customer service desk is not efficient enough. Trying to run it with one staff and perhaps a "helper" is just not adequate. Many find that area to be a problem. Otherwise, great store. read more

Review #21/30 I love a great deal and I know I could find some at London Drugs. I was at this location Christmas last year and I got a Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil 3L for $16 and a large box of brand name chocolates for less than $5. Seriously, at a drug store? They also have slightly better offerings than other pharmacies--electronics, cosmetics and housewares are some items to expect here. Service was OK. I would be back more often if not because of the location as I live further south of the shop. read more

I do like many things about London Drugs . This location would be fantastic if the management did some staff training! This review will focus on customer service. I went in to purchase a vacuum that I'd seen in ANOTHER LD store but was told by the very helpful salesperson to wait cause they would be on sale this week. Went to this location and couldn't find any with the other vacuums. I walked over to the CUSTOMER SERVICE desk. After waiting in line to ask if there were any or if they were in a different place , I was told 'whatever we have is out there' by a rude woman named DW. After I walked away she yelled behind me..... ' did you want help?' Did she think I went over to the help desk for exercise? She was loud and i felt uncomfortable when other shoppers were looking at me. The cosmetic counter didn't seem much better . I'm not sure because the staff there were too busy chatting to see if I needed help. Clearly the staff in this store doesn't read body language cause if they did they'd realize that when a customer stands in one place near the till for a long time they may require some assistance. This is not the kind of treatment that is seen in other LD stores. Very disappointing!!! read more

I'm not sure whether the manager of this London Drug needs to retrain his staff or implement a drug testing policy to address their incompetence. Both strategies may be needed. If you are thinking of getting passport/immigration photos taken here, don't. My application just got rejected because the photo didn't meet the specifications, despite London Drug photo lab supposedly offering a passport photo service. The man that served me had zero customer service skills and was very, very strange so I'm almost not surprised this happened. If you are thinking of posting a parcel here, don't. They will quote you a ridiculous price. You will say 'are you sure it costs $85 to send a small, light box of chocolates to Ireland?'. They will say 'yes'. You will leave, deciding to either eat the chocolates or try somewhere else. You think you better not eat your friend's gift so you take the parcel to a Shoppers Drug Mart post outlet who quotes approx $30. Still ridiculous (bloody Canada Post!) but a lot more reasonable than $85. I worry about how much people are being overcharged at this London Drug post shop. I love hanging out in London Drug stores generally. I don't know why, I'm just weird. But I won't be using this particular one in future. read more

Drugstores in Vancouver are akin to convenient stores in Japan. They have everything you could possibly ever need, for any situation, for any kind of emergency.... Well, manageable ones, anyway. Go in for some plaster and you're bound to come out carrying bags and bags of household appliances, magazines, beauty products, film (for those who refuse to make the shift to digital, etc) and other things you didn't realize you also needed. read more

This review is for their pharmacy departments; note that this review is coming from an allied healthcare professional. I've been in both the London drugs on Robson at Bute as well as their location on West Broadway near Arbutus. I find their pharmacists relatively unfriendly and not very helpful/knowledgeable when I ask questions, which contrasts sharply with the service I've received at the downtown Shoppers Drug Marts (Davie & Coal Harbour locations) My most recent experience was at the West Broadway location. I made the mistake of asking a pregnant Asian pharmacist about differences between iron supplements, bioavailability (test question, I knew the answer), to compare & contrast between the available supplements and for the pharmacist to make a recommendation comparable to the supplement I had taken previously. Getting information was like pulling teeth. She was obviously not in a good mood, not entirely knowledgeable about a common supplement, and, despite my offering the dosage & type of iron I had been taking previously, somehow unable to recommend which supplement would best match it. At the end I chose the supplement, which she handed me and then just *walked away* and did other things behind the counter while I stood there, surprised. I stood there for a few minutes waiting to pay, until she looked up and noticed I was still standing there. So... Just go to Shoppers. Especially the Coal Harbour Location (I've been going there for years). Their pharmacists are outstanding, incredibly nice, and go out of their way to assist you! read more

If I could be locked in any store overnight, I would choose London Drugs because they have everything. It is convenient and the staff are more knowledgeable than a lot of other places. Free parking as well. Not the cheapest for everything but they have good sales. You can take back old batteries for recycling too. I got my passport photo done at the downtown location and the photo lab is great. Selection of granola bars could be improved. Most have chocolate. Great selection of makeup. Pharmacy is also very good. I wouldn't buy blank disks or batteries there unless on sale. A/V department staff is helpful. read more

They have a good selection of the cameras, camera lenses, computers, and imported food from all around the world. Prices are very reasonable and customer service is very good. Bought a HP laptop for $337,- when I got home and started the language selection it went wrong and could not reset it, when calling if they could fix it they will charge $100,- to fix it for me. No mention of this language selection was made and no mentioning that I could not change it myself because the computer is set that only authorized technicians can change it. Will return tomorrow excepting my money back bad customer service thumbs down go to an decent electronic store where they will inform you about what your buying complete rubbish!!! read more

Specific to the camera dept. I was looking to get a new camera and had found great deals with both FutureShop and BestBuy but had the idea that I wanted to buy from LondonDrugs being a local company and all. After a lengthy wait I receive some help in looking at the camera but noted the difference was a matter of a few hundred dollars from other stores, she was short with me and acted as if I was trying to pull a fast one on her and eventually wouldn't price match. I thank her and made my way to bestbuy shortly after to purchased the entire package plus extras. Win for me loss for LondonDrugs which is a shame since I've had good service in the past. read more

The store is always clean, they have good sale prices and the staff is friendly. I like the option of having a self check out as well. Today I wanted to buy a portable air conditioner. I actually went to the customer service counter to say that I wanted to buy one as well as a slew of other things. I asked how I would go about getting the AC delivered as it was just a bit too big to fit in my car. She told me that the delivery charge was $50! Then her male counterpart interjected with "it just went up to $60"! It wasn't even on sale and I told them that I literally live a block and a half behind the store. They didn't seem to care. I could have UPS pick it up, take it all the way to their warehouse and ship it all the way back to me for far less. I ended up putting all of the things from my shopping cart back on the shelf and went home. $1000 purchase - $60 (which they make money on anyway) turned into nothing. I went home and ordered it all from Amazon. So much for trying to support local business. read more

A pal showed me his FujiFilm Finepix Real 3D camera which he had purchased at London Drugs. As a 3D enthusiast, I just had to have one too. Sadly, I had missed their huge blowout of this fantastic camera. The clerk at the London Drugs Granville Street location went to the trouble to check out their computer data base and one lone camera existed at their New Westminister store. He phoned in a hold for me and I hightailed it out there on Skytrain. The clerk there had one herself and offered me good advice on how to enjoy my pictures from a 3D television set. This branch of a local chain of drug stores is the one we are most familiar with but have shopped at several others. The staff are competent & the range of products & services offered is adequate. It's a kind of destination shopping experience as they have a reasonable selection of products in a wide variety of categories. Clearance items can be well-priced. But in the last few years LD has apparently decided to abandon their low pricing strategy. What was formerly the regular price has now become the sale price or manager's special price. This has happened twice in all grocery aisles over the last 3 years so if costs are a factor in shopping this is not the place to go anymore. read more

My issues with LD is with their photo lab. They were short staffed, and I had to wait way too long for anyone to address me while waiting at the lab desk to pick up a large format print. When someone finally came, he was in a bad mood, devoid of a smile and anxious to deal with me quickly so that he could get back to whatever he was doing before being interrupted by me. After this experience, I decided to look for other choices I had for large format prints. London Drugs is expensive! Upon comparison with a number of options, I am kind of shocked as to their prices. read more
