UPDATE: after spring rolling around, it was warm enough to get in the pool. Thats when we discovered the half assed "crack repair" that they did to supposedly stop the leak. It looks like a kindergarteners art project. There are also 11 clumps of plaster that were dropped on the floor of the pool! I wound up hiring a leak detection company. The leak was never where the minor cracks were. It was coming from the spa. Oh...and my new pool company....they actually showed up to clean my pool the day after the derecho storm where most everyone was without power! That's a professional company with outstanding service! I hired this company for weekly pool service. My pool has been green for months of their service and unusable for my family. They told me I needed new filters. They charged me 1700 dollars for the new filters. After only 2 months the filters were so badly damaged, they had to be thrown out. The owner then told me I would still need a filter cleaning for 100 dollars. They raised their price from 180 to 200 dollars a month with no additional services and well above the average price. I also had problems with them even showing up every week to which the owner always had an excuse. I cannot recommend this company at all. If you value your money and pool, I would look elsewhere for your pool needs. Hiring them was a HUGE mistake. Don't be a sucker like myself. Lone Star pool services does not care about you or your pool. There're only out to get as much money out of you as they can. read more

Complete scam artists. DO NOT HIRE! These guys were hired to fix a water level problem. After 3 different visits to the house the problem was still not fixed and they wanted $485 for new filters that were unrelated to fixing the problem. I told him I would not pay for anything including the filters until the problem I called him about was fixed (which it is still not as I write this). Charles then came back to my home when I was gone and removed the filters and will not give me back my old ones. So my pool is currently circulating with no filters until another company comes out. Charles is a scam artist pure and simple and this business should be shut down. My wife wants to call the police about this guy. Worst contractor I have ever hired. read more

HIs inspection was extremely thorough and he took his time in explaining EVERTHING that needed to be addressed, even walking around the pool and pointing out as well as describing in detail what he found. Since his company provides inspection services, his expertise and knowledge enabled us to contact pool professionals (on our own) who do the type of work that his report showed needed to be done. I got connected to this company by HomeAdvisor. My pool filter pump was not working. The person on the phone mentioned that it is possible that I may need a new pump motor and quoted a price. I made an appointment. The technician arrived and very quickly decided that I needed a new motor. The price he quoted was considerably higher than the quote I got over the phone; however, I was really uncomfortable with his very cursory inspection. I decided to call another company. They arrived, did a thorough check, including electrical tests, and determined that I needed a new capacitor. They replaced the capacitor and the pump came on. It's been running for over a week now. Getting a second opinion saved me over $500. read more

We hired this company to do an algae clean up and then maintain the pool weekly. Our algae service and first clean was to take place on Thursday. The cleaner showed up and parked his truck in our neighbors driveway. He was at our house for 15 minutes (based on a review of our security cameras). I met him in the driveway as he was leaving. The first thing he said to me was " your pool is wrecked". He then proceeded to tell me he took care of everything and would be back next week. When I went back to check on the pool I realized it hadn't been cleaned. Also our pool lights had been left on. So I called Charles and he said the guy couldn't clean it (not what the guy told me) because it was lightening, so he would come back on Friday. On Friday I got a text from Charles that they couldn't come because of the rain and would come on Saturday. At 4 pm on Saturday I texted Charles and asked if they were still coming. No response. At 7pm I texted Charles and said refund our money, cancel our service, we're done. He responded right away and said no refund- they weren't allowed to finish the job. But they were allowed- they had all day Saturday to come out, as they told me they would and they never showed up. They also never had the courtesy to tell me they weren't going to make it. I would steer clear of this company unless you are willing to tolerate poor customer service , a cleaner that doesn't actually clean your pool, and a company that says they will come out but never show up. In regards to the condition of our pool. We obtained 3 quotes for service. This company was the only one to charge us extra for the algae clean up. The other 2 said it would just be included in the monthly service fee. We chose lone star because we liked the day of the week they were going to clean the pool. Also- I took a pool sample into Leslie pool today and our phosphate level is off the charts. If they did an algae clean up and charged us $100 to do it, it seems like the phosphate level would have been normal 2 days later. Even with all the rain- it's still not right.
