Lone Star is amazing. Everyone is professional, friendly, and you can tell it's clean when you walk in. Matt did my septum piercing and did an amazing job. He definitely knows what he's doing. He covered after care and I saw him dispose of the needles. I totally forgot to yelp this place when I got my tattoo touched up last year. I had a faded military tattoo I wanted touched up and after reading on Yelp, I decided to come here to get it done. This place looked very clean and professional setting and I saw many customers there while I was there which I thought was a good sign. The guy who did my touch up(I think his name is Waylon and he was very nice)did a great job. It didn't take him any time and it was very quick and not too painful(I forgot it's done with a needle. It's been awhile since I got a tattoo). The result, I was so happy with it as it looked brand new again! I contacted Scott last December to continue the work on my sleeve. He put me on his calendar a couple weeks out. I showed up on the day and time he told me to, but he wasn't there, so I went home. He contacted me the next day and offered me a steep discount to make it up to me ... and he delivered. I tell you this story even though it doesn't cast Scott in the best light only because ... you know how some people promise a discount, but will only deliver if you remind them? Not Scott. As soon as I got to the register he said, "I owe you a discount, don't I?" I was relieved I wouldn't have to endure an awkward exchange to remind him. Yeah, he had a mental lapse the night he was supposed to meet me, but he made it right without having to be reminded and I think that speaks highly of his character. As I wrote in my previous post, Scott's really good about keeping small talk to a minimum, which I place high value on. He lets you relax and enjoy the music while he works his magic. He checked up on me a few days later to see how I was healing and gave me some pointers to improve the healing process. His pricing seems fair to me. I've only had experience with one other artist and Scott's pricing appears to on par with my other guy's. The shop is clean with pretty awesome artwork everywhere you look -- lots of stuff to study while you're getting worked on. The staff are cool and not overly chatty, which I appreciate. Parking kinda sucks, but there's a strip mall next door with ample space. All in all, I can't recommend this place enough. I plan to come back here no matter where I'm living for as long as Scott's back holds out. Keep up the good work, man. I'll see you again in a few months. read more

Such a cool and comfortable place - Hector was the artist for my third tattoo - a white ink of the word Courage in a beautiful script. He was great at explaining the process to me, as it had been 8 years since my last tattoo. He also went through explaining the difference I would notice with a white ink, vs. my black back tattoo and colored ankle one. It was nice that he took the time to tell me about it, then did everything he could to make sure I was comfortable before starting. In total I was in the chair maybe 15 min, and in the studio for a total of 20 minutes. Hector was also great about giving me advice for after care as well. read more

Matt is absolutely amazing! I went to get my nipples pierced all by myself and I was very nervous. He made me feel so at ease, he was funny and very comforting. If you're looking for a kickass tattoo shop, you have to come here. Getting tattoos can be really intimidating especially if it's your first time. I was nervous coming in even though I have had a couple of tattoos done before but Milan rid me of any worries that I had. She was super friendly and personable which I think is underrated when getting a tattoo. You know you're getting something on your body forever so it makes it all the more memorable when your tattoo artist and you are able to have a good time. Milan's work by itself was also great. My tattoo with her was sort of small but consisted of lot of line work and very clean. The lines don't look scribbly at all and you can't tell where she started or picked up. Piercing: I didn't get my piercings done here but I was with a friend the entire time while he was getting his nipple pierced. My friend's previous piercer had completely messed up his nipple and even started him off with a ring instead of a bar so he never had a chance to heal. Matt was awesome and actually knew exactly how to do his profession. Even though I didn't get the piercing at this location, matt was nice enough to answer any questions I had about my own piercing which goes to show he doesn't only want your money like other shops. He called a couple days before to get details and make an appointment and they told him that we could walk in with no problems. We got a babysitter for the baby and we headed out only for them to tell us that they can not do the piercing because they do not have the right equipment. My daughter went in to get her ears pierced. It was a traditional piercing in her earlobe. It was a disaster from the start. She was greeted by a very rude lady at the front desk. She then had 1 ear pierced by Matt who then was unable to do the 2nd ear because he was shaking so much due to not eating. That's what he told her anyways. Called in another gal K'lee to do the 2nd ear. She was less than gentle with the piercing and said, wow that didn't go as I had thought. My daughter was in quite a bit of pain but didn't think much about it. All while this happened she was being coerced into getting a tattoo. Thank god she is smart enough to know that something permanent needs to be taken seriously and not a spur of the moment thing. Well her ears swelled up like balloons and turned horribly black & blue. She went back in, saw Matt and he was surprised how swollen it was and that she needs longer jewelry but they didn't have any. With that she went to another establishment to get a second opinion. In the end the earrings needed to be removed due to the swelling, bruising not to mention the holes were not straight but slanted upwards. I advised my daughter to go back to let them know what the result was. I was floored when K'lee told my daughter it was her fault. The lady told her that because she slept on them that's why they are bruised, swollen and not straight. Wow!! Didn't expect a refund but certainly didn't expect that. This was quite a learning experience. So I thank you for that Lone Star. I will be sure to share this story with as many people as I can. read more
